I have tried this exercise, ok so I do have alot of old injuries and joint issues but I really would like to master it. I am finding it very hard. Any advice? Anyone?
This exercise takes alot of strength and flexibility, very hard to do. Well done Steve. Oh and to those of you who have nevr heard of Steve before, he is only like the biggest name in the kettlebell world.
i wouldn't compare him to pavel , steve is much more generous with his postings so we get to se much more of him , that said i think he shows what hard work and consistentcy produces.
it is very important to look side to side when performin this excersize, incase any would-be attackers decide to try and assasinate you while you're distracted by the workout.
Youtube comments amaze me. What Steve Cotter demonstrated is incredibly difficult. To achieve that kind of stabiltiy at that range of motion should speak for itself. Good knees are inherent in that.
This demonstrates that it is possible to maintain strength and stability at "extreme" ranges of motion.
Not quite perfect form? LOL most people cannot overhead press from a similar position AT ALL. Let alone do it so fluidly and with such torso control.
@GUStrength I agree. Before now, I'd never heard of this guy. But it so happens that I had started doing an exercise similar to the one he does in the vid., and I found that it vastly improved dynamic flexibility, stability, and core-glute strength - because, i have always felt, it works muscles at odd angles. I found that it also sort of dissolved a nagging knee injury.
After my opinion u shouldn't do that because you are putting too much weight on ur knees, (talking for those with knee damage) and u can really end up hurting urself..
@jonathonzuidhoek hmmmmm do i want steve cotters physique (internationally recognised kettlebell expert) or yours? (unknown keyboard legend) the excercise stays
Fantastic

isnt this incredibly bad for your knee joints? do correct me if i'm wrong, please!

@IlovelouisDTV
Of course you're wrong that's a bunch of garbage. Most people who claim things are terrible for their knees have the most problems themselves.

@TheRimeOfIcarus
then how come when people do the squat exercise, they don't go all the way down?
IlovelouisDTV 6 months ago
@IlovelouisDTV
Because they're doing it incorrectly for a number of reasons:
-Ignorance, or believing stupid myths about the exercise
-Lack of flexibility or an injury

Actually, he is far beyond Pavel nowadays...
I take his advice above Pavel's any day.
Shaolos 3 years ago
Cotter eclipsed Pavel about 5 years ago.
