If they were making fun of Nelson Mandela, then I would totally be dismissing this video as racist. If they were doing the same thing with Ghandi, or any other peace making person from history, then I would be hating on this too.

However, Idi Amin was nothing short of a monster, and mocking him and taking the pee out of him should not be controversial, it should be all about laughing at a tyrant who was nothing but a scared baby.

Idi Amin was an egocentric and flamoyant but ultimately sociopathic monster. The sketch is lampooning one very specific black man, not Africans in general, reducing the late Ugandan tyrant to a hopeless infant. The blackface is in this instance like a fake Hitler moustache. The writers and comedians involved are adopting the make-up to underline the absurdity of the (wholly inaccurate, but intentionally insulting) impersonation. You may or may not find it funny, but the intent is not racist.

It's because back in the bad old days hollywood and broadway etc wouldn't 'stoop' to hiring actual black persons to be in their shows (god forbid), but instead had lily-white actors paint their faces black and adopt exaggerated (and offensive) stereotypical black behaviors.
