Foreign pilots land better thatn U.S. ones in my opinion. I mean, think about it, in this case, IranAir doesn't have the fleet strength that the U.S. carriers have, so pilots must fly carefully, In review I believe he wasn't nervous rather he was just flying carefully. As compared to U.S. Carriers. take United Airlines for example, they have at leas 3 747-400's in storage, simply because they have enough to flying routes, therefore they can rotate out of the Mojave..

ok i watched this 5 times here is my review. the short final was awe some but 0.19 he goes up a little bit this is not called a float a float is when u stay at same altitude on landing . the back wheels landed fairliy smoothly but the nose gear not the pilot forced it down as seen in 0.28 which bounced back up a little bit . it doesnt seem that bad from the perspective but in the fuselage and cockpit i bet you could feel it. but considering how old this AC is abd ILS on it su6 ut was gd lndg

Beautiful approach and perfect landing, The way the pilot handles this huge bird is stunning,just see how the pilot keeps the landing gear just afew inches away from the runway for atleast 100 yards. Iran's pilots are the best ever.

persian pilots, known for their legendary landing skills, managed to nail this one textbook style. loved it. I hope they get to replace their aging fleet and fly state of the art A330, A340 and A320,... soon. but no matter how old the planes, you are still in good hands whith them..

Thank you Andreasilve. I have heard many times that Iranian pilots have good repiutation and this is one of the strong evidence to that. Just look at the landing, the pilot is keeping the plane very close to the runway until the plane gets completely stable and with a short gap to the groud, it touches the runway.

tompi88: No he was stabilzing against "wind shear", and trying to establish a horizontal vector to minimize vertical force. Otherwise the pressure differential would have slammed down the aircraft, and the quick drop would have blown the tires.
