  • Please know what your talking about before you post. being misinformed is sad, especially when you have a newspaper in front of you that looks unopened.

  • I go to Everest in Ca. They are accredited. I am in Massage Therapy. Massage has a very high placement rate. They did not promise us a job upon entering school. They do advise us they help with job placement and assist you in looking for a job but they never promise a job. They assist with resume writing. I guess some of the schools don't represent temselves correctly which is awful. Most of my classmates that have graduated are working in their respected fields. Making pretty good money.

  • I am with you. I am here in Texas and I see a lot of students that will not have a job after graduation. The story is true.

  • Don't listen to those people trying to make you sound crazy. The title of the video says what this is about. And while a school can be accredited, doesn't mean its a good school, gives a good education, or will help get a job. There is a reason for-profit schools are seen as scams. And all you have to do is post them the link to the ABC stories on them lol

  • We live in Maryland and I was concerned when she went to this school four years ago, but it payed off. She passed all of her praxis test.

  • @litalover19 This is Florida, and there are problems from top to bottom with the education system (elementary through post-secondary) and getting a decent job here is also a challenge. Some of the previous commenters have mentioned better outcomes in other states as well. As far as your daughter is concerned, I have a lot of friends who went to school for education and most of them found better luck leaving the state.

  • My daughter went to University of Phoenix for a BS degree in Elementary Education and she graduated early this year and now she is teaching 1st grade. I read the accreditation on Phoenix and they are legate.

  • @litalover19 That is fantastic for your daughter! However, this video isn't titled "5 school's I hate and why." It's called "5 Schools Under Investigation" because a government agency has decided there may be a problem with the way these schools conduct their business. Additionally, this video was posted almost a year ago, and I would imagine that these schools would adjust any issues that could potentially have them fined and/or shut down.

  • in a country of millions! Of course this is wishful thinking, too many people are still too comfortable to make a change, but pretty soon, there won't be a whole lot of comfort to go around. Open your eyes, it's happening right in front of them. That's all I've got to say!

  • ALL showed up to the polls - damn a job on that day - and unite as One and refuse to vote...NOBODY votes. Instead, we hold all of these phony politicians accountable. We demand to know who they represent because it damn sure ain't us. Now, some people will vote - the one's who can afford to - but just imagine the predicament the country will be in when this news gets out around the world...and national poll numbers read some thing like Sen. Demopublican 760 votes & Rep. Republicrat 920 votes

  • Why don't we do our due diligence? When will WE wake up and see that this whole country is a joke - hear me? - a joke. For example, when will WE wake up and REALIZE that congress does not represent "the people" anymore...they represent Big Business! WHY CANNOT WE SEE THIS??? How do we change it? Although it's far-fetched, because tradition and conventionality is sooo ingrained in people's minds, but if we simply ALL registered to vote THEN on voting day or the primary voting day, we ...

  • Um. You can look a school's accreditation up.

Argosy never ever promised such things. People who apply to these schools hopefully did their homework. I did.

I think that Tampa Bay Times is the non-credible source here and this girl is pretty off with her logic. She needs to do her homework (not just one source) before posting stuff like this.

  • @KonkoKid Of course you can look up a school's accreditation, that's not the point. The point is that schools cannot make claims that are unfounded. It's illegal. Additionally I didn't really offer my logic; I reported that 5 schools were under investigation by a federal agency that has a problem with the way they handle business, as did the newspaper (who again, only reported that the schools were under investigation, and why). Whether the allegations are true or not has yet to be determined.

  • Man i graduate from my Pharmacy technicain program this month and I went to do my externship at two sites and both of them had hired everest college graduates

  • @robbase314 That's great! However, this video is about a government agency deciding that there is something wrong with the way business has been done at these schools, in several areas, including but not limited to job placement.

  • @Charliesonbaahsonsky You continue to spread false info. Have you been to Yale or any of the IVY league, if not how would you know what text the teach from? Its not enough for a school to be accredited, that only mean the school can get federal financial aid. Most of the courses they offer are NOT ACCREDITED, and this is the reason why students can't land a job or not able to transfer their credits to another school.

  • @60smusicforever11 Why did you block me coward? Fucken pussy

  • @60smusicforever11 "Lowest social class" Stupid inbred honky. I've seen honky chicks come out of schools like Everest wearing their uniforms and you're gonna have the nerve to say that only chicanos and blacks attend these schools? You sir need to come out of your meth lab trailer home more often and see what's really going on outside.

  • @60smusicforever11 *Continued from last response: However, who these schools choose target in their marketing is not really the point. The point is that they may have broken actual laws here. As I stated in a previous comment, the article was not about a bunch of angry students complaining, but a government agency saying, "Hey, there's something wrong here." That is the main idea --> not what anybody thinks of the race or quality of student who is likely to attend. This isn't an opinion piece.

  • @60smusicforever11 If you came from a higher socioeconomic status, our system of elitism through maintaining the status quo would get you into a better school. Even if you decided to drop out at the high school level, you could likely afford to do so. At these levels wealth, your education is less about a transaction that lands you a better paying job, and more about the experience of attending higher ed in general. So there is no doubt that these schools have a targeted demographic.

  • i paid 32k for my 2 year program at medvance for rad tech and now i've started at 45k a year and should be making 50k in a few years so i have no complaints, just wanted to show u an example from the other side of the coin

  • @neverchangescrewed The fact of the matter is this: These schools would NOT be under investigation if there were not something systematically wrong with the way things are run here. It's not a bunch of angry students sitting around complaining, but a government agency saying, "Wait, there's something wrong here." We don't turn our backs on everyone else because a few people make it okay.

  • the medical assistant programs, pharmacy tech, etc are usually a person's last chance in life at an education when they attend these type of schools cause nobody else will take them after many failed attempts..some people fail one last time while others suceed and move on

  • so my point is u can lead a horse to a stream, but u cant force it to drink water! Florida is messed up in the health care field while some states like texas are booming, so rather than people blaming the recruiters, you ultimately have to do the proper research and be willing to relocate if you really want a job and not complain about job placement because ur only looking w/in 10 miles of ur house!

  • i graduated from the x-ray program at a medvance campus in florida... i got a job out of state where my cousins live in texas and started working there 6 weeks after my graduation.... the job market in florida for everything is terrible right now weather u go to UF or a trade school.. in some of the lower paying quicker programs like medical assistant, there is a lot of people that quit.... u have to think about the people that would join that in the first place as messed up as that sounds

  • you need to get educated

  • @jwigand If you mean I need to educate myself in general, you'll be happy to know that I have an Associates in Arts in communications, and will be graduating with my Bachelors in Sociology next May. However, if you mean that I need to educate myself on this topic, please watch this video again and remind yourself that I was reading from a newspaper, not talking out of my ass. I apologize if this offended you, it was intended to inform my viewers of factual news that we can all relate to.

  • I think that there also needs to be some sort of government watchdog to monitor these universities as well. I wonder what will happen to all the students who have already been fooled by them? Can they sue them?

  • @e1hazeleyes That's what I would like to see happen! Bankrupt these schools and put them out of business. Everytime I turn around they're steady building more of them.

  • Yeah, and it sucks because even though they're "under investigation" for basically everything they claim to do, they still get to run all their ads and everything like business as usual. Still making money...

  • OMG! Why didn't I hear about this? I for one can attest to this. I went to Everest...Graduated in May of 2008. The only thing I have to show for it is a Diploma in Medical Assisting and $6,000 in student loans. I can't get a job anywhere in the Medical Field=( Thanks for this vid sis...I'm posting this on my FB page=)
