  • @rcbif101 Looks like a vampire Trainer - T11?

  • @rcbif101 i think it a De havilland vampire

  • Comment removed

  • the duraaluminium in this planes are worth 1000000 of pounds.

  • I'm sure if the interest was there and it was genuine enough there would be no such thing as a military graveyard

  • Thanks for the upload. Anyone have any idea what the long term prospects for these aircraft are? So sad to see them like this, especially the Shack and the Hunter.

  • @Hanglands I saw the Shackleton being restored at Duxford.

  • @hipcat13 The Duxford Shackleton is XF708, and has been there since 1972.

  • @Hanglands im sorry its been so long but i will be surprised if not all of them but most are not allready garden gates or parts in your car right now a real shame i know but progress im afraid

  • The Google Earth Coordinates given earlier don't get me even close, but I got there this way. Type Long Marston Airfield into the google earth "fly to - search" function and it will take you straight to it...

  • what was the plane from 0:09 to 0:47?

  • @masterpatar Looks like an Avro Shackleton. A marine patrol aircraft if I'm not mistaken. Early '50's era.

  • You should go to Pima Air Museum. Full of old airplanes like this. Big B17s and all. They used to have the B 17 "Sentimental Journey" there but it looks like someone took and got it running again because I saw videos of it on here.

  • WAR PLANES AND TRANSPORTS most still in service (T-95 bear harrier)

  • I belive this is long marston theres a museum there somewhere this place however u can see this on google earth inside the triangle shape of the runway (right corner) i belive there was a ex mod storage place there somewere duno if its the same place or near by. but this defo looks like long marston the DH Sea Venom is no longer there that got moved to donnington nxt 2 east midlands airport also seen on google earth- east midlands airport aeropark - near the very end of the runway

  • shit cant people go and buy these and restore them back to health instead of letting them rot like a peice of garbage when they are clearly military masterpeices that need to be in a museum

  • Love the Shackleton !

  • @Jiggersfromsphilly So is was a Shakelton...Sweet!!

  • they should just melt the planes down and remake them into something els

  • Its sad to see ol, workhorses left to rot like this.A lot of famous airbases died just like this.

  • 1:10 What's the price on that De havilland Vampire MK? Trade for a classic car.

  • so sad....these warriors left to rot.....

  • An 8 sqn Shackelton!

My dad would almost certainly have worked on it at some point.

  • 1:00 IS THAT A GLOSTOR METEOR??!?!!!

  • Love the shots of the Shackleton. A little bit of the Lancaster that kept going until about 1991 I think. Amazing.

  • RESCUE these classic aircraft!!!

  • sad and a little creeepy ;[

  • just like humans they die too:/

  • Sad to think that these aircraft have so much history have traveled the world, amazed pilots (and sometimes proved a handful) and they just sit in a field in england and rot.

  • baggington air port coventry right next to the road

  • lol i find it on google earth!!!

  • thats a Canberra in that pile.

    nice.

all abandoned a/c go to the birds and bees eventually. just get inside one, sometime. hornets and sparrows.

  • i feel sorry for these beautiful birds

  • Where is place. How tight is the secruity.

  • @iloveplanetrock It is in England try 52 08 08.11N 01 44 58.09N using Google Earth low security it is a former base.

  • Long Marston Airfield

  • like all steam trains

  • Saw a hawker hunter or two, and the big one is an Avro Shackelton. A couple of vampires and a canberra. must be somewhere in England.

  • tell me where it is i need tho take a plane !!!!

  • how cool

  • a very sad sight very sad

  • God that yellow chopper is ugly.

  • were is this place??? please respond

  • are those ww2?

  • Cool stuff, but it dosen't take long for planes to look like crap when left outside.

  • KQQL!...where is this?

  • Westland Whirlwind, Electric Canberra, Hawker Hunter, Avro Shackleton, why are those in a scrapheap?

  • that is like tueasure to me

  • these are historic they shouldnt be left there! take them in! fix them!!!!!!!!!!!

  • alot of them are still good who knows fixem up and fly

  • That hawker hunter is a treasure !!

  • where is this?

  • is that big plane a lancaster or what is it please tell me that would be nice.

  • @DannyBomber09 its certanily not a lancaster

  • @DannyBomber09

    It's an Avro Shackleton.

  • songs name

  • What a fantastic video! It sort of makes me feel bad to see such historical treasures sitting alone like that.

  • Does anyone know what the plane at 0:44 is?

  • @irPsymon Avro Shackleton me thinks

  • There just begging for another flight!

  • three words restore these beautys!

  • We should re-use all these old parts. Or just do wat Udonis1989 said.

  • Bombing runs over Nazi Germany. Going one on one with a MIG over Nam. Now in some patch of land, to rust out and die. Damn shame...

  • Id love to own that place

  • Im pretty sure this is a privatley owned collection, with the intention of opening a museum, although not much has changed over the years.

  • an still in perfect condition...except for the animals of course otherwise its fine

  • @planefreak,,,,The Shakleton only went out of sevice in the mid 80's. the last squadron was based at R.A.F Lossiemouth and were known as 'The Ladies Of Lossiemouth,,,,It is a crime to see what is last of the big 'Avro' bombers in this state,,,,not many left now!!!!

  • If you are having trouble with the aircraft types,,,,I see Hawker Hunters,,,De Havilland Heron,,,,B.A.C Jet Provest,,,Westland Whirlwind,,,De Havilland Vanpire,,,B.A.C Canberra,,,Gloster Meteor

  • @jimdrumvanman

where is the whirlwind? i cant find it? :-X

and what plane is at 1:10?

the only airplane i knew with a similar design is the Fw 189 "uhu"....but cant be?

  • At the start of the video there isa 'Westland Whirlwind' helicopter,,,,not to be confused with the 'Wessex'.

At 1.10,,,this is a rear view of a De Havilland Vampire/venom. It is A two seater(side by side).

To add,,,Westland built a twin engine fighter in WW2 also called 'Whilwind',,,powered by a pair of Rolls Royce Peregrine engines,,,only 116 built,,,only a short time in service,,,but one of my favourites of WW2,,,cuold have been a 'great'

  • @jimdrumvanman

yeah, i didnt know that there is a helicoter called whrilwind :)

the ww2 aircraft was used, but it wasnt very good...sadly! it was a beautiful airplane!

thanks for the information about the vampire!

  • @deseryve The Helicopter is the clip is a Westland Whirlwind.

and yes there was an aircraft made during ww2 called the whirlwind and that was made by westland as well. It was a good aircraft but it was under powerd.

  • That Is An AVRO SHACKLETON,,,and you call yourself 'planefreak' ????

  • @jimdrumvanman...im not as familiar with older aircraft although still pretty familiar...i knew the other ones easily

  • @tomburley thanks and some retard spammed ur comment

  • what was that contra-rotating propellor bomber at 0:41?

  • Avro shakkleton

  • @ planefreak3

i believe it is the russian bomber kuznetsov nk 12

  • i play this every time i need a poo

  • I think you may find this location is a place at the back of gatwick called valence byways just on the outskirts of charlwood

  • The aircraft look British.....where are these??

  • mmh, wagner ...nice music! ...cheers

  • Long Marston, UK.

  • What year was the film shot,Where is the graveyard.even shipwreck videos tell u if its off the coast of south carolina or if its in lake huron.

  • damn all that money they spend and this damn this sucks U.S could use the money for are American troops

  • I'm a great photographer tell me where that location is and i will go up there.

  • this is no crap, these are treasures! two words: restauration and museum. it's a shame

  • I AGREE!but two proplems:money and time(work hours)terrible shame.

  • @Udonis1989 are you prepared to pay for it??

try selling them to some third world country at least you could get something for them.

  • Buy a video recorder..

  • Poor Lancaster : (

  • Not a Lanc. It's a Shakleton. It represents the final evolution of the Lancaster.

  • Brooklands UK???

  • where is this ?????

  • a gloster meteor! ( @ 1:04 )

  • holy other-an Avro Shackleton! WOW! whats that place? if its in the UK im so going there-i love old planes and fixing them

  • some of them look like they could still fly

  • its a shame that they end up here

donate them to musea or ppl who fix them

  • too bad you cant simply fix them up like cars....

  • you can fix them .... if u know where to get new engines ext. or some could still fly but just be old

  • @zeosrule Not likely - most of the airframes are at the end of flight service life. Metal fatigue would rule out making them airworthy again.

  • We could take that carbon and turn it into new planes!

  • no its a shackelton , a decendent of the lancaster but for the maritime role not a bomber

  • Is the big plane a B-24?

  • This place is what was the jet aviation preservation group museum, which has fell on its arse by the looks of it. Which is a crying shame to see those machines rot, especially when other museums are getting by without having their exhibits fall apart. Mad thought, anyone fancy finding out who owns the site and re-start the museum??

  • If only, just if.

  • Ok where can I go to get one of those hunters.

What a shame to let history rot away like this!!!!!!!

  • Ok... For those of you worrying about the Lancaster - it's actually a Shackleton, Note the nose wheel undercarriage and contra rotating propellers. Rare thing, you don't see many of those around now, and only one still flies, so yes, it's still important! The RAF used them until 1991.

Other aircraft (in no particular order)

    Westland Whirlwind

    Lots of Hunters

    Canberra

    Gloster Meteor

    at least one Jet Provost

    De Haviland Vampire

    Vickers Viscount

  • That was'nt a whirlwind,it's a Pucarra,most likely captured during the Falkland's war

  • That is an RAF SAR Westland Whirlwind, in use until they were replaced with Westland Wessexs and now Sikorsky Sea Kings.

  • Please tell me that wasnt a lancaster sitting there rotting/ Thats like a crime!

  • if i was filthy rich i would purchase all the birds and restore them

  • not everyone

but i'd sure as fuck restore the lancaster

  • I would love to spend some time at this place!

  • these planes need to be taken out and put in a museum people can live in abanded ones too

  • I could spend a month in there. Fascinating stuff.

  • where this Aircraft Graveyard located?

  • Long Marston near Stratford upon avon

  • Poor birds :[

  • is this place still in operation or is it abandoned, would like to have a closer look

  • 0:18 - whats the name?

  • Avro Shackleton

  • thank you soooo! much - they have one at Duxford and I believe it's one of the best looking planes I have ever seen

  • old raf field..... long marston

    near stratford-upon-avon uk

  • thanks

  • it is a sad site to see ;(

  • Some of those planes need to be in a museum.

  • I ain't sure about that Avro Shackleton... ouch

  • I believe all these aircraft, or most of them, especailly the hunters have been bought. and sent to a Museum for restoration.. it looks like there future is safe :)

  • oh and a vampire or a venom,,,,

  • I had a shuftie on Google earth and counted, 1 shakelton, a Canberra, 1& 1/2 provosts, 3/4's of a dove, 3 hunters and a westland Whirlwind.. a veritable gold mine of "probable restoration aircraft" for static display only at best...

  • Oh no, there's a flight of Hawker Hunters in there,...that aircraft is much too beautiful to be left in a place like that.

Neville Duke will be turning in his grave.

  • It is in England try 52 08 08.11N 01 44 58.09N using Google Earth

  • 52 08 08.11N 01 44 58.09W

  • These are historic aircraft. They should be returned to flying condition

  • CAN I HAVE ONE ?pleeaazz

  • 1:10 is that a P-38 Lightning?

  • no that's not a p-38 . my best guess would be maybe a vampire

  • yea looks like a vampire -twin boom.

  • A great place to get engines for pulling tractors :)

  • OMFG!!!In what country is this place??

  • Rusia.

  • Well many thanks!!Russia is very big!!lol

  • Hmmm, no dis respect, but im not to sure, a place like this was found in england and posted on a "urban exploration" forum. Majority of the planes are english from what i recognise, and i certainly recognise the stills, especially the yellow helicopter at the begining.

  • dreamland66 its longmarston airfield or how ever its spelt near evesham

  • Im making a guess here, but is that a shackleton at 0.30?

  • yep thats an Avro shackleton, think they were derived from Lancasters?

  • humvee600 (8 months ago)

yes they do sale those airplanes helicopters because i bought the jet at 01:40

LOL funny as that jet is still there!!!

  • I totaly agree, I feel the same way when I see scraped trains.

  • Yeah but trains are about as gracefull as a turd, aircraft aren't!

  • Dont insult trains, they are about 100 times more enviromentaly friendly than areoplanes and and are 100 times more gracefull than planes too, so dont insult trains, more people are using them, and they are getting rid of stupid sort haul flights E.G. to France or from London to Glasgow.

    Trains are awesom

  • ... ooooo, tetchy!

  • Oh sorry mate if you thought I was a little tetchy, all I was trying to do was express my opinion. But what I said is true to a certain extent.

  • What are they waitin for a restauration? Let it go in a museum

  • Where is this place, can I go and visit it?

  • So, are you like, allowed to go throught there and look at the planes?

  • no im not kidding,my dad and my cousin knows the guy that owns the airfield, hes an old Veteran who served in the vietnam war.

  • stop bull shitting, its in england, very doubtful any vietnam vets would be over here any, go and tell your lies to a shrink.

  • survivers.

  • if you have the money and time to fix these, i bet you would.

  • I went there today and the aircraft are still there the grass was somewhat overgrown. Long Marston Airfield, Campden Road, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick, England.

  • i would so but the first helicopter

  • yes they do sale those airplanes helicopters because i bought the jet at 01:40

  • ok your kidding right?

  • For those of you who don't know, this is Long Marston airfield.

  • do you no if that is owned by the government or a regular person, and do you think they would sell any of those aircrafts?? and what country/state/town is that located in.......

    thankyou

  • This is well commented on the key publishing aviation forum, (historic section) these are all old RAF aircraft its such a shame, peaple have been in touch with the owner many times ,who does NOT want to sell, from what i can gather he is saving them as a investment for his son,its a shame, but not illegal even if its frustrating, the big 4 engined shackleton bomber is well worth saving or at least the engines,

  • vampire is a single engined jet,p38 twin piston, the only thing in common is the twin boom layout.

  • isn't the Vampire a form of an off-shot of the P-38 Lightning?

  • What?!? No.

  • Theyve got just as much in common as a Spitfire has with an F-16...

  • it is not a p38,part of the tailboom of a vampire trainer.

  • Someone should do something about that P-38 lightning sitting and rotting at the back... There are only 3 airworthy P-38 Lightnings left in the world and thats a shame for such an amazing aircraft...

  • i cant believe they are let down like that you should do something

  • hay dude nice vod but that is a run down musum in oxford shire. people like duxfor finends by these old beasts and restore them

    but are't they somthing.

if u want to take this any fucther u should get in touch with IMW DUXFORD. but nice vid dude

  • oxford shire or oxfordshire? I found an airport in Oxfordshire, but no outdoor museum. How about giving us an address?

  • Great shots! Maybe it will show up on Google Earth?

  • Hi went looking again last week and found a Vulcan Bomber.......
