Anabel Conde the best spanish female vocalist ever in Eurovision for me. Together with Sergio Dalma this is one of my 2 biggest spanish entries, Never to hear something as amazing like this ever since.
Afro-dite - very nice for clubs - awful for Eurovision. I guess only fans disagree with me. Aisha she had a very nice song but vocally her performance was disasterous. I guess that the main reason I began being so dipreaciative of easterns songs is the fact that they decided not to sing in their native languages. Listening to Russia in 1997 will always be far more interesting than the cheap-pop number in 2000.
Afro-dite, the rounder girls, Mary Spiteri were amazing. Anyone remember one of Russia's first attempts? Alla Pugachova with 'Primadonna' was pure diva all the way, in fact, she is on her retirement tour at present.
Eurovision does attract far more Diva's than most music events, & that's often reflected in the performance. Just check out an artist called Ruth Jacot & watch her hand / eye co-ordination throughout, pure entertainment all the way.
@yorkshiretraction Adelaide in 1985 was the best dressed singer in ESC and her song was wonderful. Totally missunderstood by the juries. She is just no a "shoulder pads" singer.
