What a great book and truely remarkable women! How do I go about helping kids in Australia....is there anywhere over here that I can volunteer, any organisation in particular that is needing help, I don't have any money to donate, but I do have myself? I am a Correctional Officer and have worked around sex offenders. I want to help more.

Shy, I read " Broken", and the fact you survived such a terrible childhood is a miracle in itself. But to carry on and fight for justice for other victims is amazing. I just wanted to say I think you and Sara Payne are doing great work and i wish you all the best in the future.I wanted to know how does this system work exactly where you have controlled access to the sex offenders register?The reason I ask is whilst I find crimes of sexual nature particularily abhorrent I still wouldnt want to see these people being beaten to death by vigilantes as i wouldnt want anyone to be beaten to death no matter how vile they are just because violence in any form is

It moved me so much. Shy must have been so strong to get through what she did. Its just unbeleivable. they most definetly deserved that award!

I was scanning through some books today and came across Broken, after looking through it I was almost to the point of tears, being a bloke aswell, it is so hard for me to grasp why Shy and many others are put through such horrendus crimes aganist humanity. I am currently reading the book "Broken". I am up to where Shy has gone to the media with her friend to talk about what happened to her and her sister and to try and stop Stanley from abusing the children that he currently has been. I can't believe that nobody would listen to Shy's cry for help. Why did they believe all of Stanley's lies? It is hard to comprehend. Congratulations on recieving the Woman of The Year award, that is truly wonderful!
