  • Only Rush can write a song about trees and still fucking OWN!

  • These cats just like to jam.

  • There should be an organized march on the Rock Hall of Fame. One million Rush fans on the steps.

  • Ph yeah....sometimes you just have to crank up the volume!

  • is not like the original......is better

  • Very nice little transition.

  • best band to ever walk the face of the earth. perfect x3!

  • Like a fine wine, they've all matured nicely and their musicianship still rocks. So refreshing they weren't 'here today gone tomorrow' like so much of todays musicians. This particular live version has so much energy. Loved the percussion. Bang on.

  • 5:00 Beatles medley!!!

  • Such range even after all these yrs of relentless touring geddy lee still obtains that amazing voice of his. He's either inhuman or jus the greatest vocalist who ever lived. He's almost 60 and been at the mic for over 30 yrs any other singer would lose their range by now but no geddy lee keeps his. Thats jus pure heart right there.

  • awe yeah day tripper

  • My favorite band ever covering my other favorite band ever. Life is beautiful.

  • Rush and their washing machines...i guess they dont have time to wash their clothes in between tours because they never stop writing material! thats nno problem tho cuz its epic! rock on Rush!!!!!!!

  • Still great I may add.

  • The exit stage synths sounded cooler lol

  • I'm very sure the 3 were fans of The Beatles. Both really awesome bands. But here, Rush is.

  • She's got a ticket to........cut down the forest!!

  • Geddy use a rack preamp, not a small amp.

  • I was there, visiting from Toronto

  • Yeah, i'm with him one that one, that was pretty cool

  • I love the dryers in the background. Brilliant!

I used to listen to this song while driving through the Redwood Forest near Redding, CA.

  • haha what are they for, just for looks, or what?

  • they plug straight into the PA any chance they get. so the lack of halfstacks behind them are replaced with dryers to keep it from looking so empty

  • Geddy Has a small Amp, So he put the Washer and dryer of there to not look so small compared to alex's stacks.

  • there for smell

  • really?

  • yeah my uncle went to alive concert in ottawa and, rush adds not only visual tothier music but smell aswell

  • Lots of real big gals in Redding......

  • Pretty obvious metaphor - it's always been a case of the "rich vs. the poor - the have's and have-not's and the small guy vs. the Corporation".

  • well, i saw it pretty much racially. Like the African-Americans fought for their rights because they were sick of oppression and stuff. but i guess it could reppresent any minority or group that has fought oppression, i.e. women's rights, gay rights, etc.

  • i agree.....who are the maples and the oaks then?

  • Maples = French Canadians

    Oaks = Non French Canadians

  • idiot

  • the song can be seen a couple different ways. either the maples are any minority group, and the oaks the majority, or the maples can be like koolstrike said, french canadians and the oaks as non french canadians. its your choice.

  • Seems to be a very ironic song for the state the United States is in!!!

  • Ending with the Beatles lick. That's pretty cool.

Sounds pretty good for someone filming from the audience. Nice clip!

  • i love the bass for this song

  • yea strange to see Alex with a tele on this song. But as always

    it sounds right on..

  • I love the coconuts at 1:53

  • I've never seen Alex play a Telecaster before until now.

  • alex played one for new world man on signals and p/G tour

  • He used in a bit on the vapour trails tour and semi frequently on r30

  • Rush playing Beatles... it is like heaven

  • A beautiful rock song about human nature with an brilliant technical delivery. Rush rocks!

  • 2:25 sends chills down my spine... this is one of my favorite Rush songs.

  • Mine too...and that whole section is just magic!

  • Rush rules...intellectual rock, as I like to say about them.

  • I also have to add that it's cool that Alex threw in those Beatles riffs at the end.

  • This song should have been on the DVD.

I think it's really pointless that they cut about 10 songs off of it.

  • That's because all those songs were already on the Rush in Rio DVD...redundancy etc.

  • I know that, but there are a bunch of songs that are already on almost every Rush live album (e.g, Tom Sawyer, YYZ, The Spirit of Radio, Closer to the Heart, Working Man, etc.)

What's the point of removing songs from one album if it wasn't done before?

  • Cause the Rush in Rio and R30 tours and DVD's happened pretty much back to back.

  • Still nailing this song after several decades. Amazing.

  • There is no band or will ever be a band that

can match these guys. Period. End of story.

  • There is always a washing machine i dont know y but this is the shit.

  • they're dryers. He wants a "warm crisp" sound to his bass. I saw them last week and he had rotisserie chicken ovens. lol

  • yea i saw them in denver and i was wondering where his amps were. thats hilarious. the videos had chicken in them too.

  • yeah, he doesn't use amps, since he rarely uses effects on his bass, he just runs it through the direct audio output and puts random things in their place.

  • why is there a washing machine behind geddy

  • "why is there a washing machine behind geddy "

Geddy Lee had his bass cabinets moved to underneath the stage, so he could feel the booming vibration from them. As a joke, he added washers and dryers on stage behind him to the spot where the bass cabinets were.

  • actually he just started using the house speakers

he doesnt use amps at all anymore, he just plugs directly into the speakers

  • but for snakes and arrows tour 2007/2008 tour, they don't use washing machines, they use like some sort of rotisery thingy that cooks chicken. its just not orginal without those washing machines.

  • it makes sense though because he wants a "warm crisp" sound.

  • those greedy oaks

  • wow that is really good audio! is this pro or a cam corder? im seeing them in 2 months! 22nd row baby!

  • amen. those oaks deserved 2 b cut lil fags

  • goddamned oaks...bastards

  • those fukn oaks...ther just too lofty...

  • Love the acoustic guitar, and Alex playing the Telecaster - ah heaven! Great song - Geddy's voice isn't quite what it used to be I guess but God bless 'em.

  • Yeah but he's not gonna have that voice for an eternity when they have the songs such as Circumstances and By-Tor :)

But who cares? Greatest band ever!

  • i actually love geddy's voice, i think that makes the band unique and fill the best

  • Unbelievable band, gives me goosebumps everytime i hear them...

  • the best man i dont care

  • Montreal!!!!!!!Here we come again!!!

  • holy smokes! this is just fucking pearfect!

  • I've been trying to find a video of this song for so long! "The Trees" has such an unusual subject... but hey, it just goes to show how creative Rush is.

  • nice "day tripper" at the end

  • did you plug an mp3 recorder into the sound board or use a REAL good mic?

  • gonna see 'em at First Midwest Ampitheater in Tinley Park, IL (40 miles south of Chicago) on September 8th!!!!

  • this the best bootleg i've ever seen. It seems so professional since you had a bunch of cameras. pretty good quality too. All around great job dude

  • IM GOING TO SEE THEM IN OCTOBER!!!!

    going to be amazing!

  • the best band of the world¡¡¡¡

  • GREAT BOOTLEG, I have to say :P Nice job

  • Coors Ampitheater is coming-up real fast, see you there!

  • only telecaster sounds right for trees... Thank you

  • man, this song is fucking quality! i just wish geddy still used the rickenbacker.

  • how do u get cameras into a show? i would love to do it somtime but im always afraid that it will get taken away. any tips?

  • My favorite fucking Rush song.

  • did anyone else hear 'forbidden doughnut' at the end?

  • yea i think that was from the simsions

  • was at their 30th ann tour in CA...awesome!

  • I was at the show @ Coors Ampitheater July 7 2004 San Diego

  • I was at the Hollywood Bowl! And I will be again, on the S&A Tour!

  • @XanaduRush

you are the Happy One 8-))

  • dude, nice job.

  • Alex playing a tele for the trees? The sound quality

is as good as Rush in Rio.
