  • where do u get that green blanket?

  • @sakura1konohAgirl I forget. It was a long time ago. I think you can get them on ebay.

  • @sakura1konohAgirl You can get them on ebay. Good luck!

  • Thanks...learned a lot!

  • how did u take out d alpha information when you rendered??? plz help!! thanx

  • ok im confused with 1 thing... how when you rendered the final video you got the black to disapear and only the man stayed.

  • Very interesting. I'm still getting to grips with the very basics of 3d imaging in film, so I'm well impressed!

  • Nice explanation! ;)

  • I'm new at video production and Im trying to learn how to give my videos that professional look and you are the first to help me understand how it works. I've never left a comment on youtube thanks.

  • VIDEO IS MADE IN 2006! Take this in notice

  • Im ganna manage a friends band hopfully get some music videos for him if you could tell me wat equipment is used for this it would help

  • im heading up speclai effects venue

i like what your doing here 5/5

  • wow..this must be so hard to create.. do you need a program for this kind of stuf , if so what did you use?

  • Thanks for sharing the stuff with the rest of the world

  • Thanks for taking the time to create and post this video. It is a welcomed blessing!

  • if only you could do this with a youtube video.

  • what program is that

  • Thats some nice work

  • That was great! I had underestimated the power of 3D max until now. Seem difficult to work with. Thanx dude!

  • which program u usein? 3ds max ? after effect or what?

  • 3DSMAX for the 3D level, Combustion for green screen masking and 3D video integrating.

That's pretty easy if you have a blue/green screen. You can also do it using after effects and another 3D software (I use CINEMA4D, but you work with the one that you like): You make a video with the screen on the back, then using the 'KEYLIGHT' plugin for afterFX, you remove the BG and make it transparent, you render your 3D level animation, then import your 3D video and drag it under the other. GOTCHA =)

  • great :) nice work

  • NICE HOW U IMPOR VIDEO IN TO 3D PROGRAM

  • That 3DS model is from a tutorial.

  • Not any tutorial I've seen. I created this model from scratch. Thanks for watching.

  • oooooh noisy mattes, you'd save yourself tons of bother lighting the greenscreen better in the shoot.

  • Thanks for putting this out there for people to learn from. It's great.

  • cool tricks!

  • Awesome... video I like to see more... i would like to see how bullets are done when shot outta barrels when it comes to live video... and how you make a hole somthing like a bullet wound where you can you can see right outta to the side.. like for a zombie or somthing... and for those wishing you had the tools.. thats eazyie to get... its the know how is the tricky part

  • u fucken genius!

  • that sounds expensive..

  • How did you do that? Can you please teach me or just tell me what it's called..

  • hey its very intresting yaar.....

very very very useful 4 ma project .....

i hope ur upload some other project like this.....

    its really useful for beginners...

  • What I want to know is...how was the background created (It would be black if you rendered it and not added taht before rendering it.) other than that Awesome Job!

  • interesting post how much RAM is needed for that software

  • 2gb its ideal for 3ds max (it works great with less though, it depends on the project) and for combustion i recomend you 1 gb

  • wow i have Gmax witch is a free version of 3DsMax although i cant understand either one of them i tried making maps using that program for videos games but i quit its very complicated sence i have no one to teach me but good job on that stuff looks very good and very good graphiced

  • l enjoy it pliz post more info

  • wow thats so cool i want to learn more i wish i had that program do u do were to get it.,. and were can u buy a green screen?

  • I quite enjoy your special effects explained videos you did, for the music video and your short film. It's quite inpiring, I just wish I had the tools you use.

What program do you use for the chroma key and editing?

  • My kind of thing to heart's desire.

Was it difficult to learn all of the tools to create animation and special effects?

  • damnzzzzzz how did you place yourself on the plane????

  • hey im using vision lab, which is basically an advanced compositing software with aditional particle engines etc. im using c4d to, i was wondering how you placed the "moving picture of the dude on the stool" on the plain with alpha channle, i can create environments etc, but could you d oa tutorial on that, or maybe direct me to one

  • Great stuff....amazing.

Can you show more inspiring stuff.

    Thanks

  • Hey great and interesting. I'm trying myself to work with special effect. I use the FXhome visionlabs. The programs u used: discrete combustion, 3D studio, do they need a good computer, cause mine allways hangs him self up when rendering the end production.

  • It's really cool that you're showing people how to do these effects. I've not used Combustion or green screening, but I'd like to try it now I have a basic understanding. People don't always realize how long editing takes, but it's worth it to achieve quality videos like yours. I love your work, so it's really exciting to be involved with the Kapers project! Dan =:D

  • great video man...well done and interesting

  • what program are u using to fix the keying? it doesnt look like vega.can u help me?

  • Its Discreet Combustion

  • I use Combustion for that.

  • great video! was very interesting, so keep posting more. I also do 3d with programs such as cinema 4d 10, vue 6 infinite, 3ds max 9, maya, etc. i mainly use the first 2 i mentioned, however. I just ordered a big green screen to use with those programs, so this was a perfect video. thanks

  • awesome! thanx for posting, please post more

    peace out, kassiopeia

  • Very Nice

  • Yes, I want to sww more of this type thing!

  • Very Cool! I'm inspired! I would love to see more.

  • awesome. good job.

can this be done with autodesk inventor?

    -=-PIRO-=-

  • mofex also look like it being used,.. Livewire- & yes more please! YUP-Team!

  • it's amazing effects in movie makers industry.

    thnks

  • That was awesome man I'd love to be able to do that.

  • A couple of more questions:

    1. What camera did you use?

    2. How much did the tilting of the camera against the green screen influence the quality? Please explain more about this (I understand that the width resolution is higher than the height resolution, but I was wondering if this had a big impact, and why).

    Thanks!

  • Great stuff! Looks great! I'd love to see more, and would also like it if you would care to post some tutorials on your coming projects.

  • how do i put music on my youtube video and titles??

  • thanks for the explanation

  • whats the of this program? and does it work for counter strike moveis?

  • Hi, I don't know if it will work for counter strike movies because I don't do those but I use three programs here: 3D Studio Max, Discrete Combustion and Vegas Video. Good luck! :)

  • thank u very much :o)

  • wow where you been and your doing visuals? WoW Livewire- YUP-Team!

  • @loconut like im not so worried about the scenery, i justt want to know how to make a video look like this Chris brown - Real hip hop shit

  • well we can all learn from this one, thanks for putting it up

  • Yes, I absolutely would like to see more of this.

  • and what do you edit with????

  • I use Vegas Video usually to do my basic editing work with.

  • hey man, great job on this... I have 2 questions for you... Where did u learn 3D studio, and what prog were u using to edit/key???

  • I taught myself 3D studio mostly from the tutorials that come with it and then practice. I use discrete combustion for keying and Vegas for editing and post.

  • well thats quite impressive that u taught yourself... I use vegas, but apparently, after watching this, i don't know much about the program...

  • Excellent video, great to see the techniques used!

  • have you ever used Maya if not you should try using that program it's an easier yet complicated program rendering and finish in ten times quicker

  • Nice job...

  • I don't know a thing about computer manipulated images, rendering, etc and I didn't even know I was interested until I watched this. You did an excellent job explaining so even people like me can understand. Great video!

  • Cool!

  • That was amazing! :O

  • Cool. Show us more!

  • i wanna learn how to create those shits on 3d max...

  • it's not really advanced, but whatever. Everyone starts out small and i really like what you've done. Keep it up!

  • good info.thanks

  • Great video - quick and to the point yet very informative.

  • Thank You Loco!!!

Peeps who are more talented/knowledgeable/dedicated to the art of video really do help us who are trying to do more creative stuff with our own art!!!

This Vid is super useful thank you SO much for yr effort and being so generous!!!

    Thanks Dude

    Clash

  • wow...that was quite enlightening.

    Thank you!

  • Thanks for the tutorial. I haven't played with animation or 3D programs yet, my business partner is well into this discipline and art. At some point I look to add this kind of skill to my mixing and editing chops. Others should recognize the hours of labor it takes to build models and enviornments. Thanks for a peek behind the scenes!

  • Kudos. I liked the resolution trick. I'll have to try it.

  • Thanx for this!

    Very very interesting!!

  • hmn really simple made but impressive result!

n1ce work (but the music is horrible :) )

  • thank you.Very informative

  • awesome!

  • wow this is interesting ^^ show us more! x3

  • very nice. two of my favorite apps. first time I'm hearing about the sideway vid for more resolution though. very intersting. please do more

  • this is perfect, please make more

  • i partly understand it.. its like frame to frame photo editing, like in adobe.... but here its video.... ..on the 3d,i dont seem to understand it very well, but i have an experience in 3d making...

    Good job, nice explanation...

  • Thanks for walking through the process. Its really helpful and encourages creativity. Actually gave me some ideas on how to improve my mini-productions.

  • I would love to see more

  • This is a wonderful video. You are a awesome teacher and talented artist. All The Best! peace, kassiopeia

  • i'd love to see more of that yes mate

  • AWESOME!!

  • I love to see what youtubers can accomplish with somewhat limited means and boundless imagination . Terrific job Loco , i don't see who wouldn't hire you . JV

  • wow i've always had problems with resolution in trying to get a nice key but i've never thought of filming vertically like that

  • It's weird, I completely understood all the things you were saying, and everything was really simple actually. How come you don't use a Mac? Does the visual effects industry primarily use windows? And I really like combustion feature of keying out the green, that was fast. It takes a while to do that in After Effects and Final Cut Pro.

  • Would you be able to do a tutorial on constructing and animating 3d complex characters please, this tut has taken my video editing to a new level.

  • Lol! I like the vid... nice mate! We want more!!!! Rofl!

  • this was awesome. Please post more!

  • Thanks a lot, I'm working on a project like this which is still very new to me, and I didn't even consider doing it like this, instead I rendered and exported from maya to quicktime, then in premier, I put the video footage in the background after keying it. I think I like what you've done far better, it looks clearer too.

  • Wow, simply magical... you have the power to lay down in 3d what people see in their heads. Now THAT's a talent.

  • common knowledge

  • Excellent designing. Gotta watch the video now.

  • 3D Max? Try Blender.

  • why? What's the difference?

  • Blender is Open Source. A free program.

  • This was excellent!!!

  • dZammit thats awesome! You did a good job. Keep up the good work.

  • Very nice of you to share your expertise with the rest of us. Keep them coming.

  • Looks very cool, pretty interesting for those of us without that kind of experience. Thanks for the quick rundown, maybe provide a tutorial with more details!

  • thanks, was interesting!

  • Mad skillz, yo!

  • That was alright, but how can you call it complex. It's obvious that all you did to make that room was make a pillar and then clone it a lot of times and put a plane under it. It doesn't even look like you textured anything. This is far from complex.

  • I meant complex in general for people who aren't familiar with 3D software. As far was what can be done with the software, you're right. Because of prohibitive rendering times I had to limit what I did here. Thanks for watching.

  • I'd love to see more of this sort of thing....Teach Me More...

  • well, stick around and I'll put something together.

  • more more more, please

  • you got it. stay tuned.

  • ...I'm just to stupid to know how to make stuff like that. Gr8 work!

  • I'm stupid too. thanks. :)

  • Loconut, You're crazy with this stuff...great work....5 star performance

  • Thank you!

  • Nice explanation, I would like to see more tutorials on green screen techniques and lighting.

  • cool. Well keep watching my stuff and I'll have something as soon as I can put it together.

  • Wow, that's very impressive. But I guess you can do much more with this software. Show us more! :)

  • haha. Yes, software has gotten to the point where you can do hollywood effects on a laptop it's great!

  • this si probly a stupid question but what is your job exacly? how did you learn how to do that as i was thinking it would be a good job to have.

  • It would be a great job. I do this as a hobby. I'm hoping someone will actually pay me one day for it. :p

  • that was pretty cool :D very good job...can't wait for more :D

  • thanks. I'll be working on some more and should have it up in a few weeks. Thanks for watching. :D

  • nice loco, your actually quite good!

  • why thank you! :D

  • nice little making of.

  • thanks you. thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed

  • I have no Idea what you are talking about, but that's hot! Smart guys are sexy ;) That blonde was kinda hot too! :D

  • you're kinda hot too.

  • Kinda? OoOo I see how it is ;)

  • I wonder if the blond would react to your comment the same way. :D

  • Hi~blonde here! Kinda finally got to reading this. Great job here on the tutorial-loved it! Anyway re: Jesanmike thank you for your defense Loconut! And, Jesanmike, I'm leaving for Miami tomorrow--this 'kinda hottie' has a 'kinda hot assignment' in SouthBeach --life is good ; )

  • great work!

  • thank you!

  • loconut hey it was good to see you on that other site the other night. Great video very informative I enjoyed it. Take Care

  • thanks. glad you got something out of it. See ya around. :)

  • I hope that this results in you getting some awesome opportunities man. you deserve it!

  • thanks man. I hope so too.

  • That was great. Thanks for putting this together.

  • my pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Nice work. What did you use to for video capture of the screen? And yeah would be cool to see more of this as I'm always interested

  • I have some shareware to capture screen stuff, but actually for this all I did was point my video camera at the screen. It worked pretty well. Thanks for watching. :)

  • That is some pretty complicated stuff you have going on, very impressive. I haven't even figured out how to use Adobe Premiere yet.

  • Well, this geeky stuff isn't for everyone. :)

  • Very interesting. It is amazing all the work that goes into making a video turn out looking good and realistic. Very nice.

  • it is a ton of work. But I find it fascinating too. Thanks for watching.

  • you one talented mother fucker nigger.

  • that's quite a complement. thanks. :D

  • BRILLIANT!!!

  • Thanks! :)

  • I didn't see the music video until now and I must say, good job :).

I wish I knew how to do that kind of stuff. Defiently would like to see more of this sort of thing from you.

  • thank you. I have a short film that has a lot of special effects in it. I'll be putting that up at some point but might not be for a month or two.

  • Absolutely cool. I am learning ProTools and see that there is rather extensive audio-video options as well as just audio. It got me thinking I might try something with video and your clip really inspires me to do so. As a musician I am also a visual artist of some regard so this all looks like the best of both worlds. You lit a fire son... thanks.

  • That's some nice stuff!

  • thanks for dropping by. :)

  • Wow, pretty cool *thumbs up*

Makes me wanna look into 3D modeling :>

  • you should. It takes a lot of time to learn but it's really cool. :)

  • A lot of time? I knew there's a catch somewhere...

  • yeah, if you ever get sick for an entire summer, it's a great activity. :)

  • *imposter* says well done great video - very instructive, now i'm off to vote for you from my non loconut account! good to have you back ....

  • thanks. Much appreciated. I was thinking of joining this cult...

  • That was interesting, certainly. How powerful is your computer? I just wondered because I'm getting ready to buy a new one and have been debating how much speed and memory I really need.

  • All of this can be done on a $500 laptop. More memory and speed will make things a lot faster, but I do most of my stuff on rather cheap computers (because that's all I can afford). I recommend having at least a Gig of RAM though. Good luck. I'll be happy to help if you have more questions.

  • that was pretty cool. could you put some links up to the apps you used? or list them in the comments?

    Good job!

  • Discreet Combustion

    Vegas Video by Sony

3D Studio Max also by Discreet

You should be able to google them. If you want some more help finding them send me a message and I'll be happy to help you out.

    Thanks for watching.
