@ xcarlyannex1 "music is taken VERY seriously when you're a teen. Peace!"
just like MrWeekid said
rap is talking about A LOT worse things than smoking pot, and THEY have no reason to back up why they support weed other than they wanna get high
at least with Jah Roots (and other reggae bands) they have a VALID reason as to why the herb is such a great weed other than "I get it by the pounds and make money off it to put ridiculously huge ugly ass chrome rims on my hummer"
I'm so happy that I live in BC. Even though it's still considered illegal here, no one cares at all. Not even the cops really. We love our bud here in BC! Smoke on!
@xcarlyannex1.. just cuz ur friends got sloppy wit trees is not the pot that did it!obviously ur friends r weak minded.i've been in the court system the majority of my life& i wasn't blzng.its cuz i followed the wrong route.its not till later on in life that i slowed dwn..
To those below, Education is very important. Understand the drugs and chemicals you put in your body, legally and chemically! If you actually knew anything about Jah Roots xcarlyannex1 you'd know that they support NORML which is an activist group for marijuana law reform. Not only that they do say alot of other things in their music rather than "DERR lets get high" Theres music out there that say some things that are way worse than this which would lead kids to do something worse than smoke.
I completely respect your veiws on smoking marijuana, but im a teen and have a lot of friends who are in a lot of trouble from smoking. When you write music about being pro-marijuana a lot of kids are going to look up to you. Music has a HUGE impact on kids and teens so im going to have to disagree with the whole message of this song.
@xcarlyannex1 : u don't write like a teen, but whatsoever : do you disagree with the billion $ spent on ads by the tobacco & alcohol industries ? If legalized, it seems obvious ganjah shouldn't be sold or offered 2 minors, shouldn't be used while or be4 driving, etc. Now, if the "kids" u know have problems, perhaps they're over-using, & perhaps they had problems be4. No offence, man, but ain't it useless 2 stick yer head in the sand ? Now seriously : THIS VID, THIS MUSIC ARE FUCKING AWESOME !!!
Actually, i really love this music! Like seriously. i Just think there are more important messages that could be conveyed through music then the importance of getting high. I dont write like a teen? mmmmm...well im 16, so im going to take that as a compliment and think that you think i write well and mature! And if someone is going to smoke weed, they're going to smoke it no matter if it's legal or not. And all that billions could be spent trying to help people without food or homes.
@MrWeekid to continue my comment from above since you can only write a fucking 500 characters...
my friends that are in trouble now, never had any problems before their drug problems. They were all good kids, but because society pressures us to do things that arnt good for us (especially when we are teens and still figuring out what to do in life) they decited to "try" it. how many people do you know that "try" drugs?! yeah, you dont necessarily get addicted, but you do it again most likely.
This can be a valid reason 2 turn 2 a plant w/ relaxing effects. Must it prevent you from trying 2 make society better ? Y should it ? It just allows you to feel things another (brighter) way, 2 feel 1 w/ the world (as long as you're not over-consuming)... / 5th : AFA music is concerned, i can't disagree, but i undoubtedly prefer positive vibes like these 2 a cheap rap clip w/ nothing but steel, wheels & biatchis (I like hip hop, mind you). PCE 2U2, BRTMN...
As for everything, there must be rules a given society agrees upon. But denying that in the EU & the US (according to various studies) an average of 25 to 30 % of the people below 35 have @ least smoked 1 joint (and those are only the ones admitting it !) is denying reality & living in a conservative fantasy (Now, we also know where that could lead us...). / 4th : as you say yourself, society pressures us, especially youngsters.
1st of all, high school kids shouldn't use (but it's the same w/ alcohol & cigs !) / 2nd : it's disproportionate & counterproductive 2 sentence SD consumers 2 anything, let alone put them in jail (like in the US) : they damage neither the life nor the possessions of others. / 3rd : make soft drugs legal & you can test quality & break the chain between soft & hard. Otherwise, what'll prevent sleazy drug dealers 2 "upgrade" their product when they feel a kid's depressive ?
mmmm...so like i said before, i completely agree with anyones views on anything. It's just when it begins to affect my generation that i have a problem with it. And believe me, music is taken VERY seriously when you're a teen. Peace!
Why does the government care what I put in my body, especially when all I do under the influence is eat pizza, play videogames, and fall asleep?
