I was in Iraq for this one as well. I did not get much sleep during the playoff run. It was well worth it. I remember running around F.O.B Bucca right after the final out and having a "near beer" bath. I listened to the final out on the big talker radio website and watch AFN broadcast. The Armed Forces Network broadcast was different then the Fox broadcast back home. We had different announcers. Sadly I came home on leave right after the world series. I missed the parade by two days.
I can watch this moment from every possible angle, from every person that taped it, posted it here..and still get goosebumps. And how in heck did you keep your camera so steady? My videotaping of Howard's homerun Sat night was what you call "FAIL" lol. Ah well.

I may have been a little kid when the Yankees were bad, but I stuck with them. It broke my heart to see the Mariners beat us in '95, when I was 9 years old. As far as philly having the best fans goes, no. Passionate, yes. But the best, I don't think that is true.

I was in Iraq for this one as well. I did not get much sleep during the playoff run. It was well worth it. I remember running around F.O.B Bucca right after the final out and having a "near beer" bath. I listened to the final out on the big talker radio website and watch AFN broadcast. The Armed Forces Network broadcast was different then the Fox broadcast back home. We had different announcers. Sadly I came home on leave right after the world series. I missed the parade by two days.

Forgive me for being a Yankee fan since 1992. I was 6 at the time. The Yankees were terrible in the early 1990s. I am from NY, and since I can't stand the mets, I became a Yankee fan. I may have been a little kid when the Yankees were bad, but I stuck with them. It broke my heart to see the Mariners beat us in '95, when I was 9 years old. As far as philly having the best fans goes, no. Passionate, yes. But the best, I don't think that is true.
