I have had two other akitas from birth to earth and now Coco, a female. I am partially blind and she is a huge help. But it was a challenge for us to walk in areas where dogs were loose or barking. I keep her martingale collar high, like you do and I just slip my hand in the collar and keep my eyes focused ahead and don't break my pace.  And she does fine with that. She loves playing but the unknown element with other dogs makes me tense. Knowing we can do this takes the worry away.

This is a great video. So true to life when an akita or any dog is learning how to be non-reactive to other dogs. I have never seen the sweep the leash to the side to teach your dog how to lay down like that. I'll do that with Coco too. She is my akita service dog. I use the Martingale collar up high too. Is this akita wearing a muzzle? What kind of muzzle is that? Coco does great. The only trouble we've had is with loose dogs, on attacked Coco. But she did great and no dog got hurt.

Kangal is a flock guard & easily trainable.

komondor's are flock guards so technically they should be hard to train.
