  • there was a transcript of this piece for tenor saxophone? because I believe it is written for trumpet, you know how I can get it for tenor saxophone? As soon as you answer thanks in advance

  • good ol Coltrane... spot his style a mile away...

  • Just Wow.

  • Thank you. Resonating with all the other accolades too. Again, thank you.

  • kmj330. Great job on this transcription. As a trumpet player, we both know that the transcription was the easy part! This thing is a bitch to play.

  • Great job on transcribing this man. I'm actually a little bit sick after following that. What a tank!

  • how did you do that? did you slow his solo down in order to better hear each note? i am also a trumpet player going into 11th grade btw :D

  • @GCSneakers : From a professional trumpeter and composer, keep practicing and listening...you will be amazed at what you will be able to in a few years. You will still have to pause the recording to play or write down what you hear, but slowing down is unnecessary.

  • Great solo of an amazing player. I can't emphasize how coltrane is important for me. I'm now jamming with my guitar on Mr.PC

Nice transcription. I'm not a good reader but as i could tell everthing was right congrats!!!

  • do you have a website or link where we can download the transcript? ;)

if you can send it to me jonny_6963@hotmail.com

  • I wish I had nicer penmanship, like yours.... haha Finale has made me lazy. Nice work!

  • Dang. Nice job man. And awesome solo of course, but hats off to you for transcribing that whole thing.

  • So kevin, i guess the big question is...did you learn it?

  • it's amazing how little of the low register coltrane used before he picked up the soprano sax and still was a very effective soloist. this solo fits within the range of the alto sax, making it accessible to many more players. GJ on the transcription.

  • Link? website? anything?

  • @starwarsjazz I don't know what that means...

  • nice job man, adding to our history!
