I have a FlySky FS-GT3B and want to use it with a Traxxas E Maxx, My question is that on the stock Traxxas receiver there is two channel one(s) for the dual steering servos; does FlySky have a receiver that also have two channel one(s) so that I can use plug in the dual servos?
@nxcmka if you're running nitro/gas, your only battery would be the rx battery and if that dies then your failsafe wont have any power to work (only happen if you dont charge your battery between long run periods). if you're running electric, your car will stop anyways if your batt dies. Failsafe is just for if your kit gets outta range of your radio.
I recently got one of these, but the problem is that it loses the signal when I try take the rc car about 10 metres away??? Other than that it works fine. Any suggestions guys, any help would be great! Thanks
I have a question to ask of you,I also have the hobbywing esc 60A. But I am using a duel set up on my clod as a racer. I did noticed that the motors are turning ok,but when I use my radio. I move throttle forward on my radio, and like it's going in reverse. And then the throttle to the reverse, full speed to the point that the wheels are ballooning up. Do I need to change the motor rotation? I was told to servo reversing on the tx should fix that. How do I do that?
Hay kenv98, I have a question to ask of you about this product. At this time I am having issues with my steering on my clod. I bind the tx to the rx like you did on this video. Is there something that I wrong? Now I did charge up the tx. Could my 3 cell lipo battery my have something to do with it?
@modernsniper95 traxxas products are made with waterproofing measures anyways. the receiver is sealed inside a waterproof case so its automatically waterproofed.
I love my GT3B especially with a firmware hack, I now have up to 8CHs tons of mixes, I can re-map any button to any channel with varying functions. you just cant beat it for the $ and many Spektrum guys have sold their gear and bought a hacked GT3B and made a profit. go to overkillrc website and look for GT3B hacks
@kenv98 get the firmware flash kit from the OverkillRC website. $25 and you can have tons of mixing features 120% trim instead of the default 30-40%, you can remap any button and with the right receiver up to 8 channels
This video really helped a lot since I'm planning on buying one. But, on the other hand I didn't catch it on the video if I could connect the TX with [two] receivers. Like, let's say I have an rc boat and a buggy and wanna run my boat but the TX is connected to the buggy, would i be able to bind the TX to the boat's receiver without losing the settings for my buggy settings? Can I connect [two] receivers with this TX?
i was changing the name on mine, and after everything, i pressed the centre (enter) and then, it hanged. it was stuck. i tried everything. still stuck. i turned it off, and now, there's no display at all. all the white stuff that lights up, all gone.
any help would be really really awesome. i hoping ther's some magic ' reset' switch that'll make everything ok. pls PM me if u have any deatails. p.s. i have never heard of anyone else having this problem.
i ripped it open and found 4 solder point near the..2.4 module part? the one where has the grey wire attached to the antanna; 'RST', 'GND', '5V' and 'SWIM". trusting my instincts, i guessed RST was reset,GND, ground , or negetive .5V being positive and 'SWIM' being something that made me go "WTH?" i connected RST with GND and it made the LCD just go off. i tried holding it there for awhile ( who knows, maybe it works like binding)
@kenv98 i ran out of characters, sorry, anyway, nothing helped so i guess there's no reset switch. But i bought it from DX and i just got the RMA authorisation. so yeah, will be sending it back and.....hopefully my trouble will be gone. Anyway, ok, nvm i'll save it for the next reply. jeez, i talk too much.
Hello,I have the HK-GT3B. This video really helped me out,but on a down side,it did not come with the item you was talking about. The usb or charger or the cd. And Hobby King does not sell the items that I am looking for.
I just got this radio/rec package from hobbypartz. I saw a vid from Jang of URC and one from the dude from nitrorcx.com. This radio is awesome. Once I paired the radio and rec, programming it was fairly simple. Highly recommended.
I'm just a lil confused here, I've seen these for a pretty cheap price...now i know some believe you get what you pay for, but is this thing pretty solid?
Hey, have you tested the failsafe feature on this system? If so, did you notice a delay from when the transmitter was turned off to when the failsafe actually tripped?
Granted this transmitter was made in a Chinese sweatshop, but still. Can a company like futaba justify a price tag of $400-500 U.S. for a transmitter!? futaba for over a decade now has been nickle and dimming the R/C end user. Their top of the line transmitters do not even have color OLEDs and touch interface. They are still using shitty LCDs from the 1990s. Total ripoff, and I don't want to hear any of the fan boys justify it.

Depends on what GT3 you got. Your 2.4ghz module, does it say TM01 or TM02? TM02 is the new one with freq hopping and is the same as the GT3B. Also you can tell by the receivers. GR3A is old GR3C is new.

Nice video, but just one question. So you can't just put in regular AA batteries in this transmitter? How about in the very basic transmitter that you showed in the video? can that one use AA batteries?
Yes you can put in regular AA's. 8 of them. All of the FlySky ones will run off of 8xAA's. I like to use Lipo batteries in mine so I soldered a lead to it.
Do you recommend the transmitter that came with my traxxas VXL ?? The programming sucks on the Traxxas..although the range is excellent... How is the range on this unit ?? Quality as compared to the traxxas ??
Never tested the range. But never had it lose signal. Don't have a traxxas transmitter so I can't comment if it's better. But I am happy with the FlySky stuff. I only have FS for my cars.
Excellent review! Please show the battery compartment and discuss the options for rechargeable batteries.
Is it possible to use a rechargeable battery pack? Will the larger NiMH cells fit the stock battery tray? Or, is the user limited to Alkaline and smaller NiCad cells. Thanks.
@kenv98 I just ordered this transmitter as a gift. Your review(s) helped me decide between the FS-GT3 and GT3B; however, the recipient will not be making modifications to the transmitter.
Please show the battery compartment and discuss the options for rechargeable batteries. Thanks.
Like I mentioned in my other comment I use rechargeable Lipo's but I think for most people rechargeable AA's like the Sanyo Enelope batteries would be sufficient.
Lipo's require more care when charging and you have to be careful to not fully discharge it or it'll be dead.
@kenv98 Yes, I followed your link and I see that you are proficient with a soldering iron and LiPo batteries. Unfortunately, many customers are more interested in the new "Plug and Play" aspect of the RC hobby. Good work!
The only options for batteries if soldering isn't an option would be rechargeable's. 2500mah NiMH AA batteries would be ideal. Sanyo Eneloops are my favourites. They have a very low self-discharge rate so they last a lot longer when not in use.
GT3B is a nice radio but there is a reason why they didn't name it the GT4 :) It's just an improvement but until they get a higher res LCD screen it's an alright upgrade. I do love the size and look of the GT3B just disappointed in the screen a bit.

Oh, now I know what throttle delay does. The new one doesn't have it, but if you afford this radio for an electric car you're probably using a brushless sistem, and lately ESC's have throttle delay, they are responding to the amount of grip that the car has.

kenv98 1 year ago
First of all: thank you for this quick reply!
Yes it's pluged correctly, anyway with Futaba plugs it's impossible to reverse and the channel 3 is operative.
I think now that the problem is in the transmitter as with the VRC simulator, the problem is the same: only channel 3 operative
willemfamily 1 year ago
@willemfamily
Yeah I was just throwing out ideas. But if you tested it with VRC and the same issue then it leads to the transmitter.
kenv98 1 year ago
Hello,
I bought this GT3B 2.4Ghz radio gear. (From R2Hobbies, sold as "Eurgle")
I tried it prior to offer for christmas. The channel 3 only is working.
I tried with the 10 possible models selection and the problem is the same.
Do you think the receiver is deffective?
Or maybe I've done a wrong operation when entering the program?
(For information the buggy steering and power where tested also with an Assan transmitter/receiver combo and are working)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
