  • I have this radio and for some reason my throttle is reversed. Can you help?

  • @willcatfan1

Then reverse it in the settings of the radio.

  • i have a venom vr2t and imma try this now ur reciever looks very similar to mine just different brand so the binding shoulod work thanx

    good explaining

  • good review. good lighting well spoken! thumbs up ..

  • both of these controllers will shit all over a spektrum for long life. spectrum products are just junk that looks good

  • what if ur rc car battery dies? will the fail safe work........

  • @nxcmka

Yes, it's the same is turning off the TX. If the RX senses it isn't talking to the TX anymore, it'll go to failsafe position.

  • @nxcmka if you're running nitro/gas, your only battery would be the rx battery and if that dies then your failsafe wont have any power to work (only happen if you dont charge your battery between long run periods). if you're running electric, your car will stop anyways if your batt dies. Failsafe is just for if your kit gets outta range of your radio.

  • mine didn't come with the cd...

  • I got mine for $34.95 on nitrorcx

  • THESE ARE 49.00 $ ON EBAY

  • I bind this radio with my rc truck I am only getting a 1/4 of the power in my motor and have the trim all the way up :(

  • Excellent review. Much better than the one URC did!

  • Hay kenv98, I have a question to ask of you about this product. At this time I am having issues with my steering on my clod. I bind the tx to the rx like you did on this video. Is there something that I wrong? Now I did charge up the tx. Could my 3 cell lipo battery my have something to do with it?

  • @IamFlashGordon1

What sort of issues? There is CH1-3. Is your steering servo plugged into the right channel?

  • im geting one from dealextreme for 55.50 dollars

  • can this be fit, used and waterproofed on a slash 4x4?

  • @modernsniper95

I can't see why not... replace the receiver in the slash 4x4 with the receiver included with the GT3B

  • @modernsniper95 as long as you put the waterproof receiver box back together correctly after swapping the other receiver in you're good.

  • @modernsniper95 traxxas products are made with waterproofing measures anyways. the receiver is sealed inside a waterproof case so its automatically waterproofed.

  • BTW the GT3B radio also works with 3ch-8ch receivers from Eurgle,Hobbyking,FlySKY and the new Axial 2.4 3ch RX that comes in the ready to run kits !

  • I love my GT3B especially with a firmware hack, I now have up to 8CHs tons of mixes, I can re-map any button to any channel with varying functions. you just cant beat it for the $ and many Spektrum guys have sold their gear and bought a hacked GT3B and made a profit. go to overkillrc website and look for GT3B hacks

  • can i use the 3ed channel to switch ON/OFF the LED lights from the transmitter?

  • very nice vedio, thanks a lot

  • which do u prefer the gt3 or the gt3b im considering the gt3 but i dunno yet please help

  • @cdog2508

After using them for awhile... I prefer the GT3.... at first I preferred the GT3B but it's missing features...

  • @kenv98 get the firmware flash kit from the OverkillRC website. $25 and you can have tons of mixing features 120% trim instead of the default 30-40%, you can remap any button and with the right receiver up to 8 channels

  • can I put a BEC current of 6V/3A ESC on this reciever?

  • @chuck4321norris yes it will

  • This video really helped a lot since I'm planning on buying one. But, on the other hand I didn't catch it on the video if I could connect the TX with [two] receivers. Like, let's say I have an rc boat and a buggy and wanna run my boat but the TX is connected to the buggy, would i be able to bind the TX to the boat's receiver without losing the settings for my buggy settings? Can I connect [two] receivers with this TX?

  • @kyro000

Yes you can bind to multiple RX's. There are memory slots to let you choose.

  • hey, HELP NEEDED REALLY BAD.

i was changing the name on mine, and after everything, i pressed the centre (enter) and then, it hanged. it was stuck. i tried everything. still stuck. i turned it off, and now, there's no display at all. all the white stuff that lights up, all gone.

any help would be really really awesome. i hoping ther's some magic ' reset' switch that'll make everything ok. pls PM me if u have any deatails. p.s. i have never heard of anyone else having this problem.

  • @quaiboi

I don' thave the GT3B with me now, so I don't know if there was a reset switch. Did you check the manuals for it?

  • @kenv98 u mean the useless PDF file? yeah.haah

i ripped it open and found 4 solder point near the..2.4 module part? the one where has the grey wire attached to the antanna; 'RST', 'GND', '5V' and 'SWIM". trusting my instincts, i guessed RST was reset,GND, ground , or negetive .5V being positive and 'SWIM' being something that made me go "WTH?" i connected RST with GND and it made the LCD just go off. i tried holding it there for awhile ( who knows, maybe it works like binding)

  • @kenv98 i ran out of characters, sorry, anyway, nothing helped so i guess there's no reset switch. But i bought it from DX and i just got the RMA authorisation. so yeah, will be sending it back and.....hopefully my trouble will be gone. Anyway, ok, nvm i'll save it for the next reply. jeez, i talk too much.

  • @kenv98

Hey, anyway, are u using the flysky similator cable? Is it a 2.5mm mono headjack on end

  • Awsome vid! Just ordered mine on NITRO RCX.com but i wanna know how many rc can you program to the transmitter?

  • Hello,I have the HK-GT3B. This video really helped me out,but on a down side,it did not come with the item you was talking about. The usb or charger or the cd. And Hobby King does not sell the items that I am looking for.

  • would you be able to use this for a crawler with 4 wheel steering?

  • you can get a DX2.0 for £40 now, should i get the GT3B or a DX2.0 ???

  • I just got this radio/rec package from hobbypartz. I saw a vid from Jang of URC and one from the dude from nitrorcx.com. This radio is awesome. Once I paired the radio and rec, programming it was fairly simple. Highly recommended.

  • what is the exponetial

  • Can it go on a 1/10 scale brushless car?

  • @Dmention8

    Most definitely

  • @Dmention8 yes it can

  • Can you use this for 4 Wheel steering?

  • Thanks... ordered this off of ebay and got it today. thanks to this review/ tut it was a breeze to set up! Thanks again!

  • its 35 dollars now

  • Hey kenv98, does it show you on the screen the battery level of the receiver in the car?

  • I'm just a lil confused here, I've seen these for a pretty cheap price...now i know some believe you get what you pay for, but is this thing pretty solid?

  • THANKS

  • is the screen hard to use like buttons setup etc..

  • can i reversing steering with it for VRC ?

  • @350zvj

what website you get this for 35 shipped?

  • @mikeyduq4 hobbypartz website

  • I cant help but notice that you keep calling the original gt3 the gt3b. Nothing that really matters.

  • Hey, have you tested the failsafe feature on this system? If so, did you notice a delay from when the transmitter was turned off to when the failsafe actually tripped?

  • @Maxxmaster96

The failsafe kicked in almost immediately.

  • Hi If using my own controller via PCX to play VRC etc Can you use dual rates for steering Cheers Bruce

  • @cruisinbilly

I think dual rates and expo would work.

  • can u please make a video on how to convert the fgt3b from AA batts to a lipo or btterie pack :) im sure lots will apriciate it

  • Just got this for 35 shipped to replace the older model that I was having problems with. Hope this lasts longer.

  • @350zvj

what website you get this for 35 shipped?

  • @350zvj

what website you get this for 35 shipped?

  • Comment removed

  • how do i use 2 cars with it? do i bind both reciver's at it at once?

or do i have to bind it everytime i switch cars?

  • @badboyazza2009

settings will remain even during power loss.

  • hey man do u still like the radio. dose it still perform well? do u think it would be a good upgrade from my stock traxxas 2.4 radio?

  • @TraxxasNoobie

If you have plan on using a radio with lots of different cars then yeah I would upgrade.

  • for $60,- it looks like a good buy.... isnt it ??

  • @soverato3

    Awesome buy for $60.

  • the cd in this vid was the manual

  • do you have to plug it up to charge it

  • Granted this transmitter was made in a Chinese sweatshop, but still. Can a company like futaba justify a price tag of $400-500 U.S. for a transmitter!? futaba for over a decade now has been nickle and dimming the R/C end user. Their top of the line transmitters do not even have color OLEDs and touch interface. They are still using shitty LCDs from the 1990s. Total ripoff, and I don't want to hear any of the fan boys justify it.

  • does this radio have epa adjustments for throttle, steering and 3rd channel?

  • what redcat model do you have?

  • @brandon9491

I have an earthquake 8e and tornado epx

  • whats so cool about this

will this be good for xtm xt2 nitro car

  • Hi whats the range 1500ft or 3000 ft. Thanks

  • thanks for this vid. i bought a GT3B and i alreadey have a GT3 (with another name: Eurgle... is this the same?). i just wonder if the recieivers of my GT3 will work with GT3B and if the fail-safe will also work. my actual GT3 does not have fail-save. does it? hehehe. well. hope you can help me. if not... no problem. tks anyway

  • @gudrn

Depends on what GT3 you got. Your 2.4ghz module, does it say TM01 or TM02? TM02 is the new one with freq hopping and is the same as the GT3B. Also you can tell by the receivers. GR3A is old GR3C is new.

  • i fricken love this and its so much better then the 60 dolla 1 on hobbypartz!

  • Oh, now I know what throttle delay does. The new one doesn't have it, but if you afford this radio for an electric car you're probably using a brushless sistem, and lately ESC's have throttle delay, they are responding to the amount of grip that the car has.

  • @gabrielrhv

Yeah most ESC's will have throttle delay and even ABS now. So I guess that's why they took it out.

  • Are you shure those features are missing? I mean doesn't the exponential feature replaces the steering and throttle delay?

  • Do you know if it's possible to make a total resset of the transmitter as there is no indication about this in the user's manual?

  • @willemfamily

I'm not aware of such a thing for the GT3B.

  • First of all: thank you for this quick reply!

Yes it's pluged correctly, anyway with Futaba plugs it's impossible to reverse and the channel 3 is operative.

I think now that the problem is in the transmitter as with the VRC simulator, the problem is the same: only channel 3 operative

  • @willemfamily

Yeah I was just throwing out ideas. But if you tested it with VRC and the same issue then it leads to the transmitter.

  • Hello,

I bought this GT3B 2.4Ghz radio gear. (From R2Hobbies, sold as "Eurgle")

I tried it prior to offer for christmas. The channel 3 only is working.

I tried with the 10 possible models selection and the problem is the same.

Do you think the receiver is deffective?

Or maybe I've done a wrong operation when entering the program?

(For information the buggy steering and power where tested also with an Assan transmitter/receiver combo and are working)

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

  • @willemfamily

That's a strange one. Could be receiver. You sure you have the +/-/signal plugged in properly?

  • Nice video, but just one question. So you can't just put in regular AA batteries in this transmitter? How about in the very basic transmitter that you showed in the video? can that one use AA batteries?

  • @clippersown

Yes you can put in regular AA's. 8 of them. All of the FlySky ones will run off of 8xAA's. I like to use Lipo batteries in mine so I soldered a lead to it.

  • Sorry... meant , do you recommend this OVER my Traxxas transmitter !!

  • Do you recommend the transmitter that came with my traxxas VXL ?? The programming sucks on the Traxxas..although the range is excellent... How is the range on this unit ?? Quality as compared to the traxxas ??

  • @yankphan100

Never tested the range. But never had it lose signal. Don't have a traxxas transmitter so I can't comment if it's better. But I am happy with the FlySky stuff. I only have FS for my cars.

  • Excellent review! Please show the battery compartment and discuss the options for rechargeable batteries.

Is it possible to use a rechargeable battery pack? Will the larger NiMH cells fit the stock battery tray? Or, is the user limited to Alkaline and smaller NiCad cells. Thanks.

  • @poohtray

I'm using 1450mah lipo's in it. Check out my page for photos of the modification to use a lipo. kenbuys.com/flysky-fs-gt3b

  • @kenv98 I just ordered this transmitter as a gift. Your review(s) helped me decide between the FS-GT3 and GT3B; however, the recipient will not be making modifications to the transmitter.

Please show the battery compartment and discuss the options for rechargeable batteries. Thanks.

  • @poohtray

Like I mentioned in my other comment I use rechargeable Lipo's but I think for most people rechargeable AA's like the Sanyo Enelope batteries would be sufficient.

Lipo's require more care when charging and you have to be careful to not fully discharge it or it'll be dead.

  • @kenv98 Yes, I followed your link and I see that you are proficient with a soldering iron and LiPo batteries. Unfortunately, many customers are more interested in the new "Plug and Play" aspect of the RC hobby. Good work!

  • @poohtray

The only options for batteries if soldering isn't an option would be rechargeable's. 2500mah NiMH AA batteries would be ideal. Sanyo Eneloops are my favourites. They have a very low self-discharge rate so they last a lot longer when not in use.

  • @kenv98 Thanks...

  • bro, three characters is standard. keep your pants on. lol ie, mgt, xt2, and abrieviated names like b4, t4, etc

  • @buttdud1122

Guess I'm just spoiled by my other TX's that have 8 char limit. Like the GT3, DX6i, 9x.

  • great review bro. you def made my mind up. im keeping my fs-gt3 and not getting this. altho its a niceeeeee radio. i think the fs-gt3 is better

  • @staticxmako

GT3B is a nice radio but there is a reason why they didn't name it the GT4 :) It's just an improvement but until they get a higher res LCD screen it's an alright upgrade. I do love the size and look of the GT3B just disappointed in the screen a bit.

  • Nice review, I bought both the GT3 and the GT3B, still cheaper than one Futaba 3 channel.. :)

  • @VampyreLegion

For sure. It's really good value and has most features that most people need.
