i figured the hinderance would find it's way here. all i'm going to say about it is that per the rules, asderaki was correct and the exact same rule was enacted at the us open on marion bartoli against christina mchale and she knew she was in the wrong and had no objection.
@beyoncemode Maybe. But she got her racquet on the ball and that's enough, per the rules, to replay the point. Don't hate the ump for doing what was right :)
@beyoncemode Why does everything that goes against Williams ends up being racist? I'm not trying to be sarcastic. No chance means she couldn't get the racquet on the ball. The rules clearly say it is a replay.
I don't like Williams. Now does that make me a racist too?
@beyoncemode I stand corrected. Per the rules, for any verbal hindrance, the point should've gone to Stosur, which is exactly what happened. The racquet rule is only for incorrect line calls.
@beyoncemode I know what you mean but the problem is then it becomes a subjective call which is more open to controversy. Could she have made that ball without the hindrance? I don't think so. But she got the benefit of the rule (which is the same for everyone) and that's where William's should've been sporting, which she was not, and she usually never is, that's all I'm saying.
