wow our panera is small. if we had a maze like that, it would take up the entire dining area. then again, we don't need one cause we don't ever have lines.
Awesome! Perfection! What about the pagers we have? New people ask how to turn them off. We tell them that they have to shake it abruptly! HAHAHA!!! Keep up the good work!
- ...when people ask me to explain what the You Pick 2 is... SO ANNOYING! you just choose two items off of the menu, guys! and no, you don't get a drink with that.
- me: "would you like bread/baguette, chips, or an apple as your side?"
customer: *looks VERY confused* "wait, don't i already get bread with my sandwich??!?"
oh my GOSH. I work at panera too. and YEAH people will literally stand there in line and get to the register and STILL not know what they want to order. panera sucks. it started out as a summer job...and now i've been working there for 7 months. fml. hahaha. And I hate when people mis-pronounce names like ciabatta, focaccia, baguette, panini, muffie, asiago,...
30 This is not what happens. Even if the cashiers can hear the order, they forget it or get it wrong as they gather the goods. Then the customer changes his mind. It all takes forever.
Another thing, when its crowded the dumbstruck people are on stage. Everyone behind them will be focused on them and how incometent they are. They're so mortified that they afix their unseeing gaze on the products in front of them much like a animal who finds itself in a scary, unfamiliar situation.
I've been shopping at Panera for about four years and there are many problems. The acoustics are horrible. You can only be heard by shouting. I think this is tiring and stressful, especially for the mousy employees they hire. I call them mousy because they have faint voices and often they don't seem to want to see another customer. They let the noobs and the seniles stand there at the beginning of the display and these people are totally mesmerized and awestruck by baked goods. Their minds....
....Their minds literally stop working. The employees are at their cash registers twenty feet away and usually they don't move. I think it has been trained into them, "Do not leave the register until you have the order." It is expected that the customer will quickly survey the goods and then stride purposefully to the cashier with a mental list that they recite to the cashier who immediately memorizes the list and walks to the goods, picks them up and rings the customer out. But this is not....
I've worked at over 20 paneras, most of them as a baker though. I've had plenty of weird things happened. One of the more bizarre ones had a customer come into the back of the house get behind the espresso machine and try to get coffee out of it by pushing the dispenser down. By the end of my days behind a register my definition of a good customer was if I could hear what you're saying, you're a good customer.
A story about people who take FOREVER in line. I went to Taco Bell this one time, and this group of kids was in front of me ordering. They ordered just about everything on the menu (which was as waste of time) and then figured out they couldn't pay for it, and LEFT. So the cashier had to clear out all the orders and I was stuck waiting. The worst part, was the cashier was new on the job. :(
In regards to couples, why do guys walk around and girls go through the maze? I think because guys have the sense to know that with the lack of people that it's not going to matter. However, it is my opinion that girls don't have much sense to begin with, so they're like "ooh, maze do-de-do" probably because they're used to standing in lines for shoes or clothes or whatever...
i wish we were allowed to wear different color polo's. only black :(
and we dont have the maze line controller! its just they're supposed to know where to go and for some reason older people and asians are the ones who think they can skip the whole line and go around and order.
...Dude. You can wear a pink polo? ...Our GM and DM have said that none of the guys are ALLOWED to wear pink polos. ...Our Panera is so fucking sexist.
oh my gosh, my family is the family that takes FOREVER to make up there mind and order, and when ever we go places, it takes them at least 10 minutes to think about what they want, 5 minutes to choose, and then when you ask what kind of side order you want they ask every question you can to find out what it tastes like, so i hate goin out to eat and im the type of person who wants to get there, order, get food, eat and go :)
too answer your question about why girls walk the maze and guys dont it's cause guys could give a flipping rats ass about the rules and girls just dont wanna be yelled at. it's that or there is something seriously wrong with our brains :P
lol we don't have that maze stuff at my store but I've been to restaurants where I've wondered if I should just cut through the line or just do the maze....I end up doing the maze. Maybe we should have a maze 'cause people don't realize there are 3 cashiers and they'll stand like 20 feet away by the door instead of moving right by me and I need a megaphone to call them up to my register. Same with bakery. People don't realize bakery people can take orders too. *sigh* crazy custies
actualllly, yesterday i was at an amusement park and there was no line so my friend and i cut under the little maze and the person working there was like 'hey, you can't go under the bars.' even though there was nobody else in line.
and they actually looked genuinely pissed that we just 'cut' the line.
Why do [you] people stand in line, then come up to the register and make "thinking" noises while you are standing there looking at the menu. "Pshhhhhhhhh, ehhhhhhhhhhhhummmmmmm ta ta ta mmmmmmmmmm, I'm...mmmmmmmmmm...........ttt...ttt...ttt..........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........ummmmmmm"
love house! was actually watching it before i made this vid.. maybe that had something to do with it? but i filmed that scene at work so i dunno haha.. and dont worry you wont get yelled at.. unless its me haha

I work as a host for a restaurant in the summers, and I get people who come in and ask if the food is any good. What do they expect me to say? "No this food is shit and will give you the runs for a month and will possibly make you unable to produce children!" I work there. I'm not going to turn away a paying customer.

Cute vid, as for the other people that posted with negative comments, how about some respect for the customer, how else do you expect to get paid?

Your camera editing is great -- switching back and forth from you as the customer and the server behind the stand.

Nice video, btw.

Hahaha wow this is amazing and very true. Other very annoying people:
1. People that order the house salad and I ask their dumb ass if they have even looked at the menu to realize we have no such thing.
2. Foreign people that get angry with you when you cant understand what they are saying.
3. People that pick 3 things for the you pick 2. TWO! Are you retarded?
4. People that take forever to get their shit together while a line is forming out the door.
But this was awesome!
