@geniusABBY It doesn't matter that he is a fictional character. For me he's more real then most of the "celebs" on tv. So don't feel bad about it, I cried too when he died. He was a wonderful person and made all of us who knew him a bit better.

Anyway, just came back here, because watched Nemesis - as a masochist as I am - and cried my eyes out again. Also found that Brent contributed in the script, but then why did they kill Data?! I have nothing against Will, but I've always wanted Data to be the first officer. :(

Lol, watching Data on Star Trek actually molded me into the person I am today. XD The way he always struggled to be human, the way he always tried to make himself something better, and he was always a friend to anybody. He was even kind to those that didn't always show it back. XD I cried in Nemesis when he died. I literally started balling in the theater and had to walk out. T.T Because it upset me so much that he never became human...

Data can lose his body but not his memories as they can be wirelessly transmitted in to another secure storage memory aboard the ship so that Data can be resurrected into another new body. Death is nothing but a phase to him as long as he knows humans can renew him. Scriptwriters should learn that robots can live forever because robots have faith to live and protect as long as humans are still around.
