PLz verify the lyric, it says: "Always, no, sometimes, think it's me" but according to other sources says: "Always know sometimes think it's me"  which is more clear...

In fact, through the entire song, John contradicts himself and the last verse is not an exception, which increases the possibility of that word being "no", not "know".

In brief, even though it is a non-sense song made for no one to understand it, the lyrics are frequently paradoxal in a certain point. By knowing that, we can assume that the most understandable sentence (if you will) would be "Always, no, sometimes, think it's me". He said something and corrected himself right after.

This song was about an orphanage in Liverpool... I don't get it, but I love the song!

Socca: It's really not about the orphanage. He took the name as he liked the image it conjured up. The lyric is couched in John's word imagery in part because he didn't have the confidence to just plainly say what he felt. "No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low" is actually his roundabout way of saying that he felt he was either out of his mind or a crazed genius (and very isolated because of it). The lyrics in this song were written in that manner. Strange but true!

@JJMFB1 I just did research on it. "Strawberry Field" was a field right next to an orphanage (Salvation Army Childrens Home) in which John Lennon went to play when he was a child. Along with Penny Lane, it was meant for a sense of nostalgia for his childhood years. And yes, psychedelic drugs such a LSD played a huge role in this song
