it basically stops the engine from getting fuel, which slows the truck down, and it lets out all the emissions i believe and slows down the truck with the noise

A jake brake change the valve sequences and shut the injector. the intake valve stay closed so it make it harder for the engine to turn. Thats how it works!

ass wipe the inlet valve has to be closed at the start of the piston's stroke, the jakes brake prematurely open the exhaust valves retarding the engine

A Jake Brake is a engine brake! So say your going 70 MPH! You thro all 6 sylinders on and down shift and engine slowes the truck down so you don't have to you's your other brakes as mutch!!
