Your mom is lucky to have your support. Emotional support is as necessary as medical treatment. Gather all the information that you can. Ask questions until you feel some peace about treatment options and disease process. I recommend Jan Kirsch's book Winter Body Summer Soul. Thank you for sharing your story. I am 39 years old and have been fighting with Stage 3 ovarian cancer for 11 years. I wish there was more awareness for this disease. @TaraG8R You are stage 3 and have been fighting it for 11 years? that is over double the usual prognosis of 5 years. My mom was diagnosed with late stage 3 last sept. 2010. I am really scared and wish i could do something to cure her of this horrible disease.

I am scheduled for surgery 6/30/2010, and then more Chemo. It has truely been quite a year.
