I am quite a noob about this wine or games in linux. Is directx9 provided together with Wine? To my understanding you are installing from installation CD, but how to import and run from the installed program in windows directory?

still cannot run this game on ubuntu.. the installation went well but cannot run..just a blinking black window after when i "wine pes2010.exe" and press enter..

any recommendation?

sometimes there is a bug when PES dosen't like your videocard (Ubuntu 10.04) and playing is impossible. It can be fixed by installing proprietary videocard drivers from developer's website =)

Is there a way to create a shortcut to the game? When I try it, I get an error saying the file is not installed...

Create launch with:

echo wine $HOME/.wine/PATHGAME/pes2010.e­xe > launchpes & chmod +x launchpes

launch pes by terminal:

./launchpes

or double click

WARNING: modify PATHGAME with position of PES

@tail0t Thank you but unfortunately it didn't work. There must be some trick because normal shortcuts don't work. My pes2010.exe is a no-dvd file. It opens fine by clicking directly but I can't use shortcuts :S

ho provato a fare come dici ma non funziona proprio niente. quando da winetricks installo phsyxs poco prima della fine mi da errore e la sressa cosa la fa con il gioco??? secondo me è tutta una bufala oppure non sapete spiegare bene voi... io ho fatto una guida su come vedere le partite di justin e nessuno ha avuto problemi... questa guida invece nn l'ha capita nessuno...mah, beati voi

Se non sai installare con winetricks non hai proprio speranza di giocarci mi dispiace! Forse non hai i requisiti o hai installato male wine!

im using wine 1.0.1 and it installed perfectly and you dont need to add registry entries manually

i need to buy new graphic card before i can play it so

why set config to win98? why not xp?

I don't know how to add the registry entries... After installing PES 2010, I don't even have a \KONAMI\PES2010 folder in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Could you please post a video showing exactly how to add the registry entries?

@inmouchar You have to create them. Go to the console and: wine regedit . Use right-mouse click to create the new entries (folder keys on the left and text values on the right side).
