  • Who's funding this BS perhaps Saudi Arabia............ah yes the Chamber of Commerce bought and paid for by foriegn special interest groups!

  • lol yeah, and how about wearing rag bags living in a box for a change?

oh and btw, that video, they at least have candles.

    fucking scare tactics

the kind of life shown on this video is better than what 80 percent of all humanity is "enjoying" so shut the crap.

  • it is a boogy man in the closet and it works there have been the coldest winters on record the last few years all over the country.. yet the earth is heating up eat shit hippies....

  • a group of scientist have a million dollars up for grabs to anyone that can scientifically prove that it is real ...... guess what the million is still there... its a boogy man that the government can pull out of the closet when they get ready.... open you eyes all around the us there have been the mildest summers on the books.......

  • science hasn't ever depended on proof. It is a matter of evidence, and the evidence is clear

  • @Blk05titan26 .Average global temperature has risen exponentially since the 1800s. Climate change refers to changes in long term weather patterns resulting from global warming. CO2 has been measured directly since the 60s and has shown a direct correlation with rising mean temperature. Computer models show that an increase in atmospheric CO2 is "very likely" (ie 90% confidence interval if you know stats at all) to cause rising global temperatures. In science you can't "prove" anything..

  • wow when people say global warming is a hoax, it reminds me of the time when they all said cigarettes weren't giving people lung cancer : /

  • Climate Change is most likely a hoax. The ruling class just LOVE to scare folks so they advance their politic agenda. Be careful folks.

  • What "ruling class"?

You mean YOU AND ME, since we are the one's who elect our Representatives?

It's like watching to parents fight over a kid. When the kid does something great, it's "Their" child, when the kid screws up, it's "Your" child (the opposite of who ever is speaking).

There is no "ruling class", there is only you and I. Any belief to the contrary is naive in the extreme.

  • You're an idiot if you think there's no ruling class.

Here's a clue(ONE clue): They run our central banks! You get that? We have a so called sovereign country and army etc.. but we're are not in charge of our money, they are!

  • Oh bullshit. I'm so sick of this Central Bank Conspiracy that has been floating around for OVER HALF A CENTURY.

I wish you people would grow up, the world (and the United States) have REAL problems you could be helping with (not just the imaginary ones you're dreaming up).

  • If we fail to put a serious tax on carbon (or a properly priced cap and trade bill) that accurately reflects the true cost to us and the planet of using fossil fuels--we WILL end up like this. That's because we won't have made the transition to renewables in a post-peak oil world. Oh--except for freezing in bed, that is. With the collapse of the temperate zone, most of the US will be looking at Florida weather most of the year--except that Florida will be under water.

  • Industry is simply so close minded that they can not even imagine using anything but fossil energy.

The capacity for renewables exists (not just wind, but baseload hydro and geothermal). If we put just a tiny fraction of the money we spent on useless garbage into a new energy infrastructure and learned that consumerism is not a sound economic policy, we'd be well on our way to sustainability.

  • Because Fossil Energy is a 100% safe investment.

As long as fuel goes in, energy comes out. The prices of fuel aren't really relevant, as the costs of the fuel are passed on to the consumer.

As for arguments against consumerism, I would direct your attention to the former Soviet Union as an example of the alternative.

  • Vote no on this foolish bill!!! These "climate change" alarmists want to bring us back into the stone age!

  • No, they don't. They want to reduce US Economic influence in the world and redestribute our wealth out to other countries making it cheaper for international corporations to do business. They think we have it too good here in the USA and want to destroy our economy. That's all...

  • yeah thats all...

  • The Chamber of Commerce implies that we will all be making enormous sacrifices. They are half right. We will make some sacrifices, but if it is done right, the sacrifices will be fairly shared. My proposal is to allocate a "cap," say 50 gallons of gasoline and 500 kilowatt hours a month per adult, and then impose a surcharge for amounts over that cap. The surcharge would be allocated to either rebates to consumers who use less, or for free public transportation as an incentive to drive less.

  • Thank you mine fuhurer for telling how much energy I can and cannot use.

  • Lame lies.

The USCoC wants us to destroy our livable planet so they can make a few more shrinking dollars while condemning the third world to hardships far worse than putting on a sweater and going without video games.

    What hubris!

  • This ad is a joke.

I thought the US was all about free enterprise and market innovation? If energy use from fossil fuels becomes too expensive due to government cap and trade systems, there won't be people going cold. There will instead be opportunities for new alternative energy industries to develop and flourish, industries that til now have been having a tough go of it due to the unfair price and infrastructure advantage of the current FF industry.

  • They would be take away our freedom for

use flat-screen TVs, and video games because it's BS about climate change debate!

    That's unamerican! WAKE-UP AMERICA!!

I need to stop to nazis from unaffordable TVs,

    video games, and other things.

  • Where's the link to the Washington Post article? Where's the evidence of cost to individual households? I'm calling the US Chamber of Commerce to the carpet to produce some proof. In fact I want my tax dollars back that paid to make this video.

  • I think you are confused the U.S. Department of Commerce. Call out all you like, they are citing Dr. Anne Rice who testified before the House.

  • So what's the message here? Let our planet continue to boil until we run out of oil and let our children deal with it? Bastards!

  • What a load of garbage. An ad that insults the intelligence of kindergarteners throughout the land.

  • This video creates a ridiculous argument and is just scaremongering. What's worse is that it promotes a head-in-sand approach to a real threat. Let's face it, a little energy suppression will create demand for new technologies that will help the U.S. economy. Plus, anything we can do to reduce the use of fossil fuels helps us fight both global warming and our risky dependence of foreign oil.

Heck, I'd go so far as to say that this video is downright un-American.

  • But your message isn't propaganda?

To make a dent in carbon emissions, one of two things has to happen.

Immediate massive program of fast-track building of nuclear power plants.

Real hardship, a depression of unprecedented severity. Deprivation on that scale kills people. Assuming the Planners are content for the country to remain a democracy, it would end at the next election, at which point "environment" will be such a nasty word that much worse environmental damage is likely to be done.

  • Talk about propaganda...Earth is going down the tubes and these people are putting a price on life and the world. No TV's? No video game system for little Johnny? Uhh, what about books?

One more thing, even though there will be economic hardships to do the right thing, other industries will flourish like recycle centers and they're will be jobs for creating renewable energy and maintaining those systems...I always find it interesting that they never tell you that.

  • Cheers to the Chamber. Energy suppression and rationing are not a path to prosperity.

  • swines. you will pay the price for your greed and lack of foresight.
