Several people on this board over the years have traced Ford's career and shown that he could not possibly have been in Germany at the time the scenes in the train were shot. The extras were students from the university at Munich
different eyebrows ( straighter on harrison), different nose ( curver on harrison ), more almond shaped eyes for harrison, falsehood on the chin (not for harrison )...so it's not harrison ford.
I saw other pict to proove it. (pb links with youtube answer
and for dasheight, let's show interviews you're talking about.
Ford has said it was him in multiple interviews. He was cast as an extra, but the director liked his face, so they put him in the foreground of the scene. For those saying it's not Ford - you'd have to argue with the man himself.
This is asinine. This film was shot in Germany, so not only would Ford have had to have started on his acting career at that time, which he hadn't, he would also have had to have been in Germany, which he wasn't. He was still in college in Wisconsin when this movie was being filmed. It was released in June of 1963, which means it was shot (again -- in Germany) in 1962. Also, it doesn't even look like him.
They look identical except that cleft chin gives away that it isn't Ford. Someone should try to find this guy (by running ads in Germany) to see if he continued to look like Ford in the following decades. I'm betting he didn't but who knows?
@JAMamation How do you know?? This fellow has a cleft in his chin that Ford lacks and to me their ears look different, although that's hard to really tell. I can readily buy his being an extra in Germany (I've been an extra myself and it's a really anonymous thing) even though he lived in the American Midwest, and perhaps even his never mentioning having done this for some reason, but I don't think make-up would've added a chin cleft (although I guess it's possible). Again, how do you know??
The movie was made in '63 - according to the biography I have on the bookshelf here at the house he didn't go to California to actually try to break into show business until 1964 - and even then his original intent was to try to get voiceover work in commercials. There's no mention of his being in "The Great Escape" in that bio - that, plus the fact that, as someone else pointed out, the fellow in the scene has a cleft chin that Ford doesn't possess - says to me it's not him.
Its clearly not him I mean it shows a pic of Harrison Ford right next to the dude and there are obvious differences. The shape of the jaw line, HF's eye brows dont curve down, and his nose is flat not slightly upturned like the dude in the movie
The IMDB says it's not him? Hmmm, omission is not denial.
Why not say:
"Tieing your shoelace must be against the law because it's not mentioned anywhere in the legislature"
or:
"Wikipedia is a complete store of the world's facts" (Imdb info is added by users too)
Your other points have already been addressed below, but I like your dialogue - you should be a scriptwriter. You could easily pen something better than any of HF's recent films.
Then how about logic? If Ford is still in college in Wisconsin in 1962 and only doing campus radio work (he came to H'wood to get voiceover work 1964), then it cannot be him. End of story.
The other info came from new stories about both Ford and the movie's production.

Gotta love the internet:
"Hey, doesn't that guy look like a young Harrison Ford.?"
"HFS, it does!"
"But the IMDB says it's not him"
"Well, that looks like him too much not to be."
"You're right, it MUST be Harrison Ford."
"Wait, according to actual sources, the film was COMPLETELY shot in Europe in 1962 and Ford didn't arrive in Hollywood until 1964"
"Ah, eff it - people online are dumb enough to believe anything and too lazy to do research it. Afterall, we almost fell for it."
"Tru dat."
