I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't prerecorded because in the actual production I believe the first one to bow for the "One" reprise is Greg...And he only has NO MORE than maybe three minutes to change...The change itself is notorious in musical theatre history for one of the fastest costume changes in a show.
totally pre-recorded. there would be no way for them to set up like that in front of the theater and then get under the stage in another costume. ALSO, on here, someone posted a rehearsal video for them taping the beginning-- pretty cool, go check it out.
Was the first part of this pre-recorded? It just seems that to get from the street to the stage would take longer than it did (I am aware that most of the opening credits are not in this video).

yeah...how come there is no one in front of the theatre. and in june, it wouldn't be that dark out. they recorded it the night before.
