@PilotDownhill If you want OD1 which is voiced differently from the OD on the 2 channel.
You can also have 2 separate distortion channels with seperate EQ. I would go for the 4 channel if you want everything. I have the two channel and its good enough for me though for modern stuff. which is what I play.
So let me get this straight... If I have to go immediately from the clean to the "Red" distortion, I have to push the footswitch 4 damn times!! Who could do that onstage???
@ETaucher pretty cool review man damn seems like u saved up for that amp lol and its weird how ur playing exactly like john petrucci at the beginning lol
Great sounding amp, I tried one in a shop the other day and was really happy.
I was surprised though because I tried the one with more stuff on it years ago and really didn't like that one...it is like a different beast!.
This one was really nice and smooth, everythign you expect from a Marshall.
Have you tried pulling FX in the loop yet?. I had a TSL a few years back and it literally halved the output of the amp when I was using the loop, it was really irritating!
@Lol927837 im also planning to get a jvm205h with 1936cabs....the only thing thats holding me back from purchasing it is whether it can be used for bedroom playing....how much loud is it with the 2*12 cabs, will i need an attenuator for bedroom playin...well i'll be playing it in my basement which is kind of a size of a mini hall.... what are ure views?
@TerrorBlade84 Hey man, sorry it takes so long to aswer..
This amp can play at lower volumes, no problem. But you will not get its 100% potentional sound. I use it at home with moderate volumes, im allowed to crank it a little bit.. But keen in mind that those kind of amps need to be pushed loud before you know what it can do!
For home use, get a small tube amp like Orange Thunder 30, Laboga Beast, Blackstar HT +++ , for band the JVM is great. Most band a little bedroom >>> Go for it!
@ecgedsel thx man its cuz i dont wanna u know break the windows lol or make the floor rumble lmao. btw is this also ur channel cuz it sais ETaucher but ur EvanTaucher
im renting this amp out to try the sound and thinking of buying this amp but im having a tough time getting a good sound:S when i play at low volumes i have a good sound but when i try to crank it, it loses its tone and sound im so confused whats going on, and if i have my gain to loud i get horrible amounts of feedback. any kind of specific settings (gain, Bass Treble..etc.) that make a good tone? im into Guns and Roses and rock and roll if you could help me out.
@godofwar5 its common to way overuse amounts of gain. It feels better to play with super high gain, but in reality, good tone comes from a much lower gain setting, even with those bands. I have the gain way to high in this video too. I'd try bringing the gain to about 8 o'clock on the orange channel of the OD channgel, treb at 12, mid at 4 and bass at 1. These are all o'clocks. Presence 12 and resonance 1.
That's how I currently have mine set. You may need to raise your gain a LITTLE
Hey man thanks for the review it sounds awesome, great playing too. i've got the exaclt same setup, except i play strats. best amp you will find for the price. extremely versatile. once you learn to use it, you will never want another amp
Do you know how this amp compares to the 205H as far as head room goes? It sounds to me like you are saying you do not have to blast this amp to sound good. I've always heard that Marshalls are too loud for most people? Thanks
lol. I'm sorry to people that see me asking about amps and stuff on videos, but hey, I'm just trying to get opinions before I shell out a bunch of money. Has anyone played both this JVM 210H and a Peavey 6505? I'm aiming for Van Halen, Guns n' Roses, but also be able to back off the gain to play stuff like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix. Great demo, great clarity in sound and video, and great playing.
@aseemdatt Thanks so much dude, I was beginning to think the same thing and I'm glad someone else came to the same conclusion. This amp is very versatile and sounds great. Hopefully my parents will see its worth as much as I do when they see the price tag. hahaha
@jakemk21 you can get the van halen tone with the 6505 since its the continuation of the 5150 but the jvm is more versital so i would recommend that since it covers most of the bands tone that you mention i would also recommend the egnator tourmaster i own it and its amazing i can cover any tone i ever wanted
@ETaucher Hey Man I just got the same AMP sound is Amazing but the hiss on the crunch channel even with the GAIN on 4 its unusable .. do you have any ideas ? Tubes maybe ?please help
@javierlima13 Try the ISP Noise Decimator. I have one and it works great! I read where the ISP G String Noise Decimator is even better, just a little more expensive.

@goodguitaristatmetal nah, i know the marshall tone and what you consider trebly id rather describe as the marshall bite. imo this video lacks of the bottom amp that marshalls use to feature so i thought it might be technical and not gear related issues ;)
hi!i'm loving that kind of marshall bite i'm hearing here.. could you help me how to achieve it without spending lots of money?I'm just a bedroom guitar player.. btw, i would love to use it for shred guitar stuffs
@xtianmusic oh man haha that's quite a toughy indeed. i have actually no clue how to get a good marshall-esque sound with the bite and yet with all the punch you get from 2x12 or 4x12 cabinets in a stack. i'd maybe suggest smaller blackstar amps with lower wattage? sry mate
Sounds GREAT. Does it sounds satisfying at lower volumes? I'm selling my ENGL for this one. Played it some times, KILLER amp. But I forgot to try it at lower volumes! haha
Actually im quite suprised, i usually don't like marshalls all that much but this is kind of an exeption i guess. still a bit too fuzzy for me, but maybe thats just because of your settings...
at 4:09, that's a paul gilbert tune, isn't it? I always play those chords to test out an amp but im not quite sure which song it's from. Does anyone know?
Im trying to get a decent deal on this amp atm i really wanted the 4 channel 100w but im worries i won't be able to get good sound without tearing down my house with it. Why couldn't they make a 4 channel 50w?
@ETaucher I meant you have a sweet F-ing amp..but isnt like 200 watts, and you have right next to your eardrums, Im sure it kicks ass at any volume, peace enjoy!!
great amp.anyone knows if u can you set it so that you have clean, crunch, drive and solo sound?
for example if i click the first switch on the footswitch it goes to green on clean, when i click the second goes to orange on clean, the third goes to orange on overdrive, fourth maybe a bit louder red overdrive channel.
What is it with all these reviewers talking so much shit on the video. We don't want to hear your voice, it's not that hard googling the amps features, so we don't give a cunt about that, just play the damn thing, we want to hear the amp.
Sweet...:! One question though, how can you use that amp at home? I mean its 100w, right? I assume you can barely touch the volume before it gets REALLY loud... Do you use hotplate or something? I'd love to buy the very same head+cab you're using in this vid, but am afraid I'd need to rent a huge hall or something to really be able to get more out of the gear ;) What are your views on the matter?
@MikaJuP HEy man, don't worry about being too loud. This amp sounds AWESOME at low volumes. This is a 100w head and it sounds great at low volumes. It's at a low volume right now and I usually keep it at that.
Let me know if you have any more questions. Sorry for the late response.
Oh sorry I was actually asking if the JVM head would sound good on the MG cab. Its too expensive for my budget to buy both. And I agree it would be wrong to put the MG head on the 1960 cab.
Hey man check this out, I got a MG100HDFX half stack with the MG412A Slant Cab. I was just wondering if that head would sound good on that cab cause the MGs just a solid state amp (not the new one with all the digital stuff) and the cabs 120W. What would you think.
@polishedbullet Oh sorry I was actually asking if the JVM head would sound good on the MG cab. Its too expensive for my budget to buy both. And I agree it would be wrong to put the MG head on the 1960 cab.
Is this amp more for classic rock or modern rock/metal? I have a JCM 800 re-issue and was thinking of selling it to get either the Vintage Modern or DSL JCM 2000 cus those basically have my amp in them plus more settings.
@theShowStopper321 Yeah, it honestly can cover a lot of styles, but I'd say it's sweet spot is somewhere between classic rock and metal(yes I realize that's pretty wide). Regarding the Vintage Modern, I know they're killer amps(and Paul Gilbert uses them) but I just cannot get a decent hard rock sound out of it without some pedals. I really like the JVM because its Plug and play and has all the gain I need. Plus, it's extremely versatile.
@theShowStopper321 The JCM's do sound nice though! I'd rather have one of those than the Vintage Moderns. The low end just gets muddy to me on the JCM's; thats why I prefer the JVM.
@MetallicA4658 the 1960a will probably sound better than the cabs made for the AVT series. I've tried my JVM through an AVT cab and it doesn't sound nearly as tight as the 1960a cabs
Nice to see a demo of this amp that actually gives an idea of how it can sound. You actually know how to dial in tone.
Been playing for two years, is it? Power to you, my man! Nice chops and touch.
By the way, don't let anyone tell you that you've spent too much money with your gear. I used to hear that all the time and it's bullshit. Having better gear just made me want to push myself harder.
Great video man! Thanks for all the details you gave concerning the channels sections. You really made my mind for buying this Marshall! Nice playing too dude ;-)

Great looking Ibanez :) I got two Questions! Have you tested the XLR out? and do you think the JVM 215c would be a great overall solution :)

What is it with all these reviewers talking so much shit on the video. We don't want to hear your voice, it's not that hard googling the amps features, so we don't give a cunt about that, just play the damn thing, we want to hear the amp.
laurainterrupted 1 year ago
@laurainterrupted yeah? is that why I have non stop questions about the amp? Fast forward if you want to hear playing, or make a better review

Do you use any external pedals to boost or only amp??
nitrofr 1 year ago

hi, is playing at low volume nice? did u really blast the amp in your room ?
TJmusical 1 year ago
@TJmusical Man, playing with low volume is awesome. Not cranked at all. Playing at a normal room volume. :)
ETaucher 1 year ago
please stop making videos that was such messy poop omg
bobdaveb 1 year ago
MikaJuP 1 year ago
@MikaJuP HEy man, don't worry about being too loud. This amp sounds AWESOME at low volumes. This is a 100w head and it sounds great at low volumes. It's at a low volume right now and I usually keep it at that.
Let me know if you have any more questions. Sorry for the late response.

@ETaucher Can u dial in a plexi/jcm-type crunch with this amp?

Oh sorry I was actually asking if the JVM head would sound good on the MG cab. Its too expensive for my budget to buy both. And I agree it would be wrong to put the MG head on the 1960 cab.

Frito???
truffleshuffle777 1 year ago
Hey man check this out, I got a MG100HDFX half stack with the MG412A Slant Cab. I was just wondering if that head would sound good on that cab cause the MGs just a solid state amp (not the new one with all the digital stuff) and the cabs 120W. What would you think.
utility18 1 year ago
@utility18 I wouldn't put an MG head on a 1960 cab, you might sin against the mighty Marshall gods of tone.

meant to say .. have the same amp.. not hate it lol...
rrguitar1 1 year ago
I hate the same amp.. love it. You sound good there !! what type of noise gate are you using? The gain channels.. especially the red channel.
rrguitar1 1 year ago
I want this amp VERY badly, but I can't afford it. It has the perfect tone for me.
TMF58 1 year ago
Is this amp more for classic rock or modern rock/metal? I have a JCM 800 re-issue and was thinking of selling it to get either the Vintage Modern or DSL JCM 2000 cus those basically have my amp in them plus more settings.
theShowStopper321 1 year ago
@theShowStopper321 Yeah, it honestly can cover a lot of styles, but I'd say it's sweet spot is somewhere between classic rock and metal(yes I realize that's pretty wide). Regarding the Vintage Modern, I know they're killer amps(and Paul Gilbert uses them) but I just cannot get a decent hard rock sound out of it without some pedals. I really like the JVM because its Plug and play and has all the gain I need. Plus, it's extremely versatile.
ETaucher 1 year ago
@theShowStopper321 The JCM's do sound nice though! I'd rather have one of those than the Vintage Moderns. The low end just gets muddy to me on the JCM's; thats why I prefer the JVM.

Would this cab sound good with a Marshall AVT150H you think?
MetallicA4658 1 year ago
@MetallicA4658 the 1960a will probably sound better than the cabs made for the AVT series. I've tried my JVM through an AVT cab and it doesn't sound nearly as tight as the 1960a cabs
ETaucher 1 year ago
@MetallicA4658, no the AVT cabinet is pretty inferior. You'll notice the difference.

I love the JVM's, they have the perfect lead tone for me. Too bad I can't afford one (even used.)

i have the 410 and let me tell you, it's bad ass. Marshall forever!!
Gtrplyr1 1 year ago
you did the right thing by selling all you gear to get that amp! it is a very good amp. I just bought one, and i coudnt ask for more. Tons of gain!
and the way you can program the footswitch is awesome.
Lespaul29 1 year ago
Awesome man :D Do you know which channel on the JVM 410H is the OD Red on the JVM 210H?
CxRxGx 2 years ago
@CxRxGx Clean on 210 = Clean on 410H | | OD on 210 = OD1 on 410

Rock on!
Tonycaveman 2 years ago
Bout 3 years now! I used to hear that a lot(regarding gear), but not so much anymore.
Thanks for watching!
