This song really fits the scene, especially with those added instruments (strings?) whenever Dana/Zool is on screen. They effectively make it more sinister.
One of the best scenes is the Manhatten skyline with the World Trade Centre in the backround with the ghosts set free to go on the rampage in New York, the music just goes perfect with that scene very creepy tho
It's like 1984 all over for me when I hear this song.Still remember all the words.Stead of the VHS I own the blu ray now.But I wish I had the record still.Good old days.
I have been off work sick today; I felt like watching films I haven't seen since I was a child and this was one of them. I had forgotten how great this particular scene was.
I think this song is interesting. To me, the first part is a lover's song. Someone who is in madly love and describes the high and ecstacy of being in love and making love as magic.
The second part is the seducer's song. It's dark and the singer is talking about the sinister gratification of someone begging for him. He has seduced a girl to the point to where she craves him constantly.
It's the difference between sex as a tool of love vs. sex as a tool of lust, control, and seduction.
Love the whole song, not just the part that is featured in the movie, sad to have missed the 80's genre (i was born in '86) but most 80's songs were still played in the early 90's, love it all. reminds me when the only thing that mattered in life was having a crush on my camp counselor hahaha
@Musicman510ee the 80;s didnt really end in terms of fashion and design until the mid 90's. Hair, fashion, even the atlernative music scene didnt really get its power until 95/ So at least youi got a taste of it. But its okay, we all take things and embrace different elements from different eras. I love the crazy color of the 60's, the funk of the 70's, the new age renniasance of the 80's,
i remember when i got this soundtrack in the 80s and me and a friend were listning to it and were looking forward to this song and when it come on we turned to each other and said, eh this isnt the track from the film, we were really dissapointed then it sprung into the part in the movie and we were jumping around shouting yes thank god, lol, good time the 80s man.
I always think of the rotting corpse taxi driver that enters that Checker through the exhaust pipe and goes careening into traffic. In the original script, Aykroyd also wrote a scene in an office where an invisible spirit begins molesting all the women, flipping up their skirts, etc.
@Rebe1Core I know what you mean, one song particularly called 'In The Air Tonight' has a very similar atmosphere I think - the sound of the 80s I guess!
@PeterMCA...contrary to your thought, I think the first part is standard '80's sex. I mean, he says, "I'm in you and it feels so right." Tell me what else that means? Emotionally in you...maybe. BUT, part two is like...Doc Brown jumps out of the DeLorean and says "Marty, you gotta come with me to the future. There's this thing called the internet and you can see anybody doing any type of sex thing anytime!" I mean, the girl BEGS for magic to be made...not "Please be in me..." It's like...PLEASE!
I too think the very same thing....something to do with that eerie Bass beat whilst the spirits are grazing across the sky with an almost sidious intent.
@DathanielTDK I have to agree on some level! I remember thinking at this scene as the ghosts were slowly flying away,"This music can say 'Please' all it wants to, those ghosts are still gonna do what they do!" My two favorite parts of that scene are the ones where the blue ghost flies up out of the subway and then over the people and then the one where the ghost creeps up from a storm drain and in through the taxi's exhaust pipe(at 3:21 in this track)and turns the cabby into "The Driving Dead"!
@DathanielTDK One of the greateaastb scenes in the film also for some reson whane I first saw the movies 2 scared me more thane one Oleny one scene scared me in 1.
i would have to agree with you on that one. i like both parts as well. When i first heard this on cassette tape many years ago, i originally thought it was two separate songs.
i finally get why this song is made this way...its about a couple about to have sex. the first part of the song is them at foreplay and the more famous part of the song is them actually making the "magic"
Låta starter så bra også slår den seg over til en hetl spesiell opplevelse som Ghostbuster har fanget på filmen.... THUMBS UP... Har så mye minner atte

OOOOOOHHHHHH This track was magic!! I love when it picks up at 2:22!! it went so well with the eerie scene in Ghostbusters, you know the part when all the ghost in the city is let loose. Ahhh brings back good memories. I must have seen this movie about 10 times in theater with my mom when she'll pick me up from daycare. That poor woman, I must have put her through hell with Ghostbusters, Gremlins, and The Goonies.
Transition at 2:22 is really interesting. It goes from an uplifting song to kind of gritty. That's the 80's for you. I love all the experimentation that occurred in music prior to 1990. You could easily tell one artist from the next in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. The 90's had a few good bands but there was just an overload of them in the prior time period. @tyrellbustin Dude just STFU and stop pulling the god damn R-Card like 50-75% you all do every damn time something good comes from someone else, hip hop and rap now a days is nothing but shit, every fucken time "OH SO AND SO STOLE THIS FROM THE BLACKMAN"! do us all a favor and stop QQ'n like a fat ass retard that you are, i've seen quite alot of blacks with no fucken talent, such as Ganster Rap which half of the god damn song is mostly dropping the damn F-Bomb, STFU and get a life fat ass.
@totoro1591 You're right - they used the second half of the song (although the first half is good, too). Sounds like a Phil Collins knock-off song, but it's good :)
This song really fits the scene, especially with those added instruments (strings?) whenever Dana/Zool is on screen. They effectively make it more sinister.

The song in the actual movie is different than this one. I want to find that version
Ryan4twenty 1 year ago
@Ryan4twenty I think this is the version in the movie, but they only used part of it, not the whole thing.
totoro1591 1 year ago
@totoro1591 You're right - they used the second half of the song (although the first half is good, too). Sounds like a Phil Collins knock-off song, but it's good :)
SPeacock 1 year ago
@Ryan4twenty uh, listen from 2:22 on around 2:55, it's same part. It's the same song. sync it up and play after one another.
