  • This song really fits the scene, especially with those added instruments (strings?) whenever Dana/Zool is on screen. They effectively make it more sinister.

  • fucking yea its magic!

  • Cheese. Cheese! Cheeeeeeese, I've not washed my cock. I believe it's bathtime rofl XD

  • 5 dislike people doesn't believe in magic!

  • Mr. Pecker. the guy who disliked 5 times. lol love it.

  • Louis/Vinz: This is it! This is the sign!

Janine: Yeah, it's a sign all right. Going out of business!

  • magic is needed if you can deal with the real BS of this world

  • this song reminds me of that genesis song.. in the air tonight

  • You can totally tell this was inspired by Phil Collins

  • Igon¡¡¡¡¡

  • Its true!!!! 4 people dont have a dick

  • Slimer in the hot dog cart....lol

  • "Columbia Building, 37th Street and I'm in a hurry, so let's not dawdle."

  • It's like 1984 all over for me when I hear this song.Still remember all the words.Stead of the VHS I own the blu ray now.But I wish I had the record still.Good old days.

  • Amazing that one guy's choice for a pop song when editing the film's soundtrack to this scene left such an imprint on all our childhood minds!

  • I have been off work sick today; I felt like watching films I haven't seen since I was a child and this was one of them. I had forgotten how great this particular scene was.

  • This is for anybody looking for the good part........... it starts at 2:22

  • @jessicaamcfee Phew! You saved this vid for me, I thought I would have to search all over again!

  • @KierTanaka Your Welcome :)

  • I had to sit through 2 and a half minutes of song to get to the good part

  • One of the funkiest, get-off-your-butt, and go, bass lines ever encountered. Yep, I said EVER....

  • YOUR MOTHER!.............

  • I half expect to see Phil Collins in a gorilla suit start banging the fuck out of some drums at the start of this...just me?

  • @TheOnlineArtist OMG YES!! xD

  • i love this song thank you for uploading it!

  • I think this song is interesting. To me, the first part is a lover's song. Someone who is in madly love and describes the high and ecstacy of being in love and making love as magic.

The second part is the seducer's song. It's dark and the singer is talking about the sinister gratification of someone begging for him. He has seduced a girl to the point to where she craves him constantly.

It's the difference between sex as a tool of love vs. sex as a tool of lust, control, and seduction.

  • we came, we saw, we kicked its ass!!!! dnt make then like that anymore class film.. still got the video for when it 1st came out... alot of years..

  • really good stuff here.....I believe its Magic......

  • i love the 80's

  • @Terminatorx81 i agree best ever the 80's

  • 4 people was not told 3 times nice....

  • "Their is no Dana only Zuul!" "What a lovely singing voice you must have."

  • cool man i love this music

  • Gozer the Gozerian likes this.

  • Walter Peck still has no dick.

  • Love the whole song, not just the part that is featured in the movie, sad to have missed the 80's genre (i was born in '86) but most 80's songs were still played in the early 90's, love it all. reminds me when the only thing that mattered in life was having a crush on my camp counselor hahaha

  • @Musicman510ee the 80;s didnt really end in terms of fashion and design until the mid 90's. Hair, fashion, even the atlernative music scene didnt really get its power until 95/ So at least youi got a taste of it. But its okay, we all take things and embrace different elements from different eras. I love the crazy color of the 60's, the funk of the 70's, the new age renniasance of the 80's,

  • Thank you for posting the whole song! :)

  • i remember when i got this soundtrack in the 80s and me and a friend were listning to it and were looking forward to this song and when it come on we turned to each other and said, eh this isnt the track from the film, we were really dissapointed then it sprung into the part in the movie and we were jumping around shouting yes thank god, lol, good time the 80s man.

  • would it be strange to admit that my crush was Egon, the nerdy ghostbuster? It's magic

  • @MoyaLinda83 Actually, I'd consider it a plus. Though I admit that I don't collect spores, molds, or fungus.

  • I always think of the rotting corpse taxi driver that enters that Checker through the exhaust pipe and goes careening into traffic. In the original script, Aykroyd also wrote a scene in an office where an invisible spirit begins molesting all the women, flipping up their skirts, etc.

  • @TheScriabin Walter Peck, he made four accounts so he could dislike this four times.

  • @Ashkihyena It's true, Ashkihyena. This man has no dick.

  • @Ashkihyena HAHA Dickless!!!

  • @Ashkihyena It's true. This man has no dick.

  • Now that's funny

  • @Ashkihyena LOL....NICE!!!!!

  • This song kinda reminds me of something Genesis/Phil Collins would write.

  • @Rebe1Core I know what you mean, one song particularly called 'In The Air Tonight' has a very similar atmosphere I think - the sound of the 80s I guess!

  • this is like the 80s hip-hop inspired version of Lou Reed's early solo stuff.

  • @DathanielTDK really? when I saw it, I thought it was cool as hell! I was like "Oh snap! It's the climax!"

  • @PeterMCA...contrary to your thought, I think the first part is standard '80's sex. I mean, he says, "I'm in you and it feels so right." Tell me what else that means? Emotionally in you...maybe. BUT, part two is like...Doc Brown jumps out of the DeLorean and says "Marty, you gotta come with me to the future. There's this thing called the internet and you can see anybody doing any type of sex thing anytime!" I mean, the girl BEGS for magic to be made...not "Please be in me..." It's like...PLEASE!

  • Ghost Busters. Whatdya want?!

  • Gozer the gozarian

  • lol the undead taxi cab driver <3

  • This music and the scene that went with it... To this day I still think it's one of the creepiest scenes in movie history.

  • @DathanielTDK this scene also happens in plain day thats quite a feat, still bewildered by this scene and kinda creeped :)

  • @DathanielTDK

I too think the very same thing....something to do with that eerie Bass beat whilst the spirits are grazing across the sky with an almost sidious intent.

  • @DathanielTDK I have to agree on some level! I remember thinking at this scene as the ghosts were slowly flying away,"This music can say 'Please' all it wants to, those ghosts are still gonna do what they do!" My two favorite parts of that scene are the ones where the blue ghost flies up out of the subway and then over the people and then the one where the ghost creeps up from a storm drain and in through the taxi's exhaust pipe(at 3:21 in this track)and turns the cabby into "The Driving Dead"!

  • YEs you are but the door got slammed an im not but realizing the need for a vary special key.

I bet i can do this better.... Not the song but only the lengths

I loved the real Record by RAY PARKER JR

  • YEs you are but the door got slammed an im not but realizing the need for a vary special key.

I bet i can do this better.... Not the song but only the lengths

  • YEs you are but the door got slammed an im not but realizing the need for a vary special key.

  • the beat gets better at 2:21

  • This piece of "a plain 80's pop music" actually shows in a beautiful way the vast creativness of the best decade of all times ever.

  • The best song on the soundtrack, both "parts" are equally cool

  • @looseele

i would have to agree with you on that one. i like both parts as well. When i first heard this on cassette tape many years ago, i originally thought it was two separate songs.

  • one of favorite songs on the CD

  • The transition to 2:21 is great... and unexpected also

  • This song rocks. Love it!

  • Mayor : is it true ?

Venkman : yes it is true this man has no dick

    LULZ

  • GET ME THE GHOST BUSTERS

  • does anybody know of a good dubstep for this???

  • i finally get why this song is made this way...its about a couple about to have sex. the first part of the song is them at foreplay and the more famous part of the song is them actually making the "magic"

  • @petermca What?

  • @WarpLover if you look at the original video to this song you'll see what i man its on youtube as original version

  • yes its true. this man has no dick.

  • WOW, took so many "related videos" JUST to find this one!

  • i think both halves of the song are good actually

  • Michael the Magic.

  • The magic begins at 2:20

  • Sounds like a song from Planes Trains Automobiles in the beginning, lol.

  • I rewond and rewond the VHS tape of Ghostbusters just to watch the scene with ALL the ghosts descending on New York. It was hypnotic.

And worth of a real supernatural movie, too. One of the strenghts of Ghostbusters is that it has a real, serious plot complementing all the genial demency.

  • @Reckall Dude demency isnt a word.

  • @Reckall And either is rewond! LOL

  • OOOOOOHHHHHH This track was magic!! I love when it picks up at 2:22!! it went so well with the eerie scene in Ghostbusters, you know the part when all the ghost in the city is let loose. Ahhh brings back good memories. I must have seen this movie about 10 times in theater with my mom when she'll pick me up from daycare. That poor woman, I must have put her through hell with Ghostbusters, Gremlins, and The Goonies.

  • @DrunkMillz79 omg im the same as you hahahahahaha

  • cut the first 2:22 min of crap off and you have a song

  • @Hightower187 Thats just what I did

  • cut the first @:22 min of crap off and you have a song

  • Thanks for reminding me how awesome this song is....I'll have to track down my worn cassette-tape that over-played this song!

  • Transition at 2:22 is really interesting. It goes from an uplifting song to kind of gritty. That's the 80's for you. I love all the experimentation that occurred in music prior to 1990. You could easily tell one artist from the next in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. The 90's had a few good bands but there was just an overload of them in the prior time period. I have no idea who is playing on the radio now; heck I'll ask my friends, their music mind you, they even say don't know a lot of times.

  • @moviewatchingid They are 2 different tracks pasted together ~ the 1st half is from the first 'Ghostbusters Soundtrack' Various Artists release and the second is the genuine movie track released as a bonus feature on the 'Ghostbusters: Original Score' Elmer Bernstein album. x

  • Where are you Mick Smiley!!!!

  • @taiyo888 I am the gate keeper

  • Yeah 222 is where it's at - it's a 2 song deal ain't it ;D Pre-222 is imo soulless ;)

  • @tyrellbustin Was kanye even singing when ghostbusters came out? No, he was about 10 years too late dumbass. He would have been like 13.

  • @thollm01 Ironically enough, kanye turned 7 on the EXACT day ghostbusters was released, according to wikipedia.

  • okay....why does it say this video is 8 minutes long for a 4 minute song?? got my hopes up that I'd found a remix

  • why is everyone talking about kayne west? the bet song to sample this song is "magic love" by bent.

  • Felt i had to comment as it seems some people are getting confused with Kanye West sampling this track. As far as I'm aware Kanye West hasn't sampled this track, I actually made a Mash Up of both tracks, with Mick Smiley Instrumental and a Kanye West acapella. I think someone has mentioned Nostalgic being the name of the track, but that's actually my producing name. I've always wanted to do a Mash Up of 'Magic' and I found the Kanye lyrics fitted to the sample. Hope this resolves the confusion.

  • @tyrellbustin don't use the r word fuck face.

  • screw all y'all :p the words to this are beautiful . stop bitchin.

  • Great song, thanks for posting. Half the recording is empty air FYI, but otherwise I'm glad you put it up. =)

  • @tyrellbustin kanye west was 7 when ghostbusters came out

  • @tyrellbustin Dude just STFU and stop pulling the god damn R-Card like 50-75% you all do every damn time something good comes from someone else, hip hop and rap now a days is nothing but shit, every fucken time "OH SO AND SO STOLE THIS FROM THE BLACKMAN"! do us all a favor and stop QQ'n like a fat ass retard that you are, i've seen quite alot of blacks with no fucken talent, such as Ganster Rap which half of the god damn song is mostly dropping the damn F-Bomb, STFU and get a life fat ass.

  • @tyrellbustin wow, complain complain complain, then pulling the R Card, whites weren't the only ones stealing music and, blacks did it too so STFU!

  • Is this true?.... Yes it's true.. This man has no dick!

  • @tyrellbustin

    Wow. Just wow.

  • i used to think that i was the only one in the world that liked this song.

  • Listening to this song makes me think of the containment unit opening.

  • WWWWWWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNN

  • I love this song!

  • amazing fucking tune the kick in is superb

  • The song in the actual movie is different than this one. I want to find that version

  • @Ryan4twenty I think this is the version in the movie, but they only used part of it, not the whole thing.

  • @totoro1591 You're right - they used the second half of the song (although the first half is good, too). Sounds like a Phil Collins knock-off song, but it's good :)

  • @Ryan4twenty uh, listen from 2:22 on around 2:55, it's same part. It's the same song. sync it up and play after one another.

  • "This is the sign"

  • Superb song, superb artist, Mick Smiley is a genius

  • How did Kayne West steal this song? What's the song called?

  • Ray, when somebody asks you if you're a god, you say YES!

  • *panting* ...What floor is this?

  • What the hell's a Kayne West?

  • @DamageRenamo according to south park he's a gay fish! hahaha

  • <
