I quit WoW 10 months ago after 4 years of playing. The game itself is still great but it didn't do it for me anymore. Raiding 4 evenings out of 7 for 4 hours got pretty tiresome besides work and family. Nevertheless I still cherish some great memories like Ilidan Kill, Firefighter and Arthas 25 hc ( I was in a fairly good guild). I really miss my Warlock sometimes... dunno why I got so sentimental on this maybe cuz of the song...

@hazingfun lol he doesnt have to buy all the addons in the game just to play a raid mate, i heal ICC 25 heroic (or used to anyway) on my priest without any addons whatso ever, no healbott, no NUI, just regular WoW UI and rotation, sure its a pain to group heal like that, but no problem if your doin tank heals, UI doesnt make the player just yet.

Its "easier" for other caster classes then mage, but as a mage you can still do good if you use a brain. Just use your normal rotation, use Presence of Mind when you need to move, if not use Arcane Barrage. Its all about learning the fight. We did it tonight. I tanked the head. No problems what so ever if you know when to use your abilities :)

For the people saying it's not a mage fight, it most certainly is.

You need to work out your rotation. I see you are sometimes casting to 4 stacks of arcane blast, which made no sense back then. Then you cast missiles when missile barrage hasn't procced, and arcane barrage when missile barrage HAS procced. You also see a lot of arcane mages throwing a barrage at the end of their missle barrage for a little extra burst. In short, the "fight" is not why he's at the bottom of the charts.

well. its not cuz of the fight he gets a low dps cuz he is arcane wich dosent mean moveing lowering ur dps, it does how ever mean u get a lower dmg done,, and besides he was using arcane missles alot of times without missle barrage proc wich does lower he's dps, so not a anti mage fight. but yeh stacking melee on this fight is easier

uhm hes kiting the flames kinda hard to dps when you kite flames.

also arcane isnt as high of a damage specc its more mobile however.

mimiron hardmode may be hard for melee but when you have to kite fires around melee often gets alot of uptime on the boss.

holy shit man I sucked ass!

1. melee heavy setup, only thing I got was bloodlust -_-

2. seeing as how intensive it was already I didn't take risks with fires. Prepatch it was pretty easy to die if you decided to hug a fire. I also tried kiting the fires away from melee and healers at the start.

3. since I was basicly only there for head dps in phase 4 (we only had 2 ranged) I was very careful once we got closer to the end of the fight. We didn't get in phase 4 alot :P

This encounter is doable with any setup of any healers atm, seeing as in the end of 3.1 I duo healed it with the Pala/Druid combo, it shouldn't be a problem doing it with 3 healers of any sort.

It is impossible to duo heal with druid and resto shaman, the napalm shells becoming overwhelming on the shaman, highly recommended to have a priest or pally for napalm shells.

ugh, we got to phase 4 finally with everyone alive.. people were being dumb getting hit with bombs and the aoe, causing 3 dps and 1 healer to die.. so we wiped at 20% to enrage

Usually you'll be grouped to kite fires best as possible, and our CH is now much stronger and more wide.

A resto shaman can CH spam this entire encounter.

The best healing setup is still DiscPriest & Druid, but the difference is minor.

It's disappointing to see a mage raiding at this level as arcane. Dead last on DPS for the whole run by a significant amount, behind even the shaman.

Personally I'm fire as main spec, arcane as secondary. EJ forums and theorycrafters list arcane as just slightly behind fire in DPS on most encounters. I can only assume he's arcane in this video because of the mobility it offers. Honestly it's about what you're comfortable with. At least he's not frost.

from what I know it's usually the best thing to spam arcane blast when AP is up till missile barrage procs, but since we didn't have any mana regen (heavy melee setup) I used it mostly after 3 stacks...

About the ABx3 and Abar when no Missile Barrage, yes it should be better dps in theory, but I think I've read somewhere on EJ that ABx3AM is still better.. never really tested it myself.. so thanks for pointing that out. Will try that out next time :P

ABarr was nerfed slightly a while back so ABx3 AM is considered to be best now. Also, a mana saving version of that rotation is ABx2 AM. ABarr mainly provides mobile dps now.

there was no caster support as you could see, so I lacked hit :P Was one of the first times I was arcane too, hence the not so perfect play. Doing dps as the only caster = qq, hence why I am at the bottom. I would go fire for sure if you have the proper support. It's more singletarget dps than arcane!
