  • A heartwarming performance that brings tears to my eyes!! The roots of Macedonian

culture can be transplanted in all manner of places and bloom with a beauty, ex-

citement, and delicious flavor all its own. Very enthusiastic singing of this beloved

and classic folk song performed with affection and enjoyment by all concerned!

Thank you for posting and to Ecoman for sharing!!

  • @Kievest

Thank you for the nice comment, dear Friend!

There is a vibrant JEWISH BULGARIAN community in Israel that keeps alive the culture of the Old Country.

    GOD BLESS ISRAEL!

  • This is a great performance by ISRAELIS OF BULGARIAN JEWISH ORIGIN of a famous BULGARIAN folk song from the Balkan subregion of Macedonia!

Long live the friendship between ISRAEL, BULGARIA, and the USA !

Greetings from an American descendant of BULGARIANS from Aegean Macedonia !

  • Struga is in Macedonia, always was there and it will be forever.

  • This is a beautiful MACEDONIAN song, it's about Struga and Struga is a town in MACEDONIA. The Vulgarian have no culture of their own so they steal other people's culture.

  • this is pure macedonian song , just bulgarians believe that its there song but actualy nobody believes in that lie

  • @1987misho

    yeah yeah...you're just brainwashed !

  • hmmmm....Struga? This is a city in Bulgaria? Are you sure this is a bulgarian song?

  • @Vergina190rritories3 Struga is temporaly not in Bulgaria but when Bulgaria will be unified it will be again part of our country. Thefact that for a small period of time the town is out of bulgarian territories cannot change the bulgarian origin and language of this song.

  • @Osogovec Again the retarded Tatar is spreading fake propaganda. Temporary? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA WHAT A RETARD! HAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHHA! This song is written and sang in MACEDONIAN LANGUAGE! What a retard...omg....

  • @Ivicakmk 90% of the ""Macedonians"" or macedonian bulgarians know the true but just a small number of people in FYROM are enough brave to tell it in public. The others are afraid of the other 10% serbo-communists that rule the country during the recent decades. Really in part of the time the government of FYROM is friendly to Bulgaria at first glance but behind the scene the control of the serbo-communists continued....

  • @Osogovec Nobody here is afraid to say anything you idiot! Macedonians in Pirin Macedonia are afraid of you because since the occupation in 1913 you failed to assimilate them, but they still are under pressure of Bulgaria. Don't try to tell me that people in Bulgaria have more rights to tell what they think of feel than in Macedonia because they don't. Macedonians in Bulgaria still are forbidden to make political party. Come on, do you still live in communism?

  • @Ivicakmk We live in EU, you live in an asian type of serbo-communist propaganda. Your newspapers every day write propaganda against Bulgaria and Greece. Our newspapers just inform the people and don''t manipulate them against our neighbours. We have no problem with our identity,we're proud to be Bulgarians. You talk every day on TV about "the identity of the Macedonians" (identitetot na makedoncite :)).

  • @Osogovec What if you live in EU? They block you everywhere, they cut money, don't allow you in the schengen zone, you still are one of the poorest countries in EU. Bulgaria is the country with most car steals. Sorry but I would be ashamed to live in Bulgaria.

  • @Osogovec Good luck with that one :)

  • this song is one of the many beautiful Bulgarian songs which are indisputable world cultural heritage and have been recognized by everyone butt those who have embarked on the foolish quest to prove otherwise. Your arguments are profoundly weak, misinformed and lack any common historical sense. But you seem to thrive on these giant misrepresentations which to my delight can only be consumed within very limited circles and by those who have not even read one historical book properly.

  • ne samo sto ste ukrale makedonska pesna barem tetkive da se potrudele ubavo da ja naucat, ama ni toa ne go napraile, uzasno zvuci ....

  • Hey just so you are aware, this is not a Bulgarian song. Pesna je CISTO MAKEDONSKI!

  • hey so just you are aware, there was no Makedonski state before cominterna and Stalin-Tito-Dimitrov

  • @littleindigoflower Hey just so you are aware, my grandfather came to the USA in 1936 as an ethnic MACEDONIAN. Long before tito was ever heard of. You can't hide behind that all the time, you know?

  • @littleindigoflower What nationality are you anyway? If you don't have ancestery in the balkans, then shut the hell up.

  • Pure bulgarian song!Good preformance

  • i shouldn't be replying to such nonsense, but fyi, macedonian music is only one of many types of bulgarian folk music. i hope you are not going to claim that FYROM gave bulgaria the rhodopean, thracian, and other excellent varieties of our folklore music. and anyway, its the FYROMean propaganda that tries to claim facts and people that don't belont to them like Alexander or Samuil

  • @littleindigoflower See now you are trying to be a musicologist too. Not just Macedonian, but all music in the balkans is one of many types of music. Nothing in the balkans is pure, but that doesn't mean you change a people's name. The "hellenic" race does not exist. Greeks are nothing but mutts and have just as much slavic blood as with anyone in the Balkans.

  • Macedonian music is much prettier than that caterwauling you bulgarians call music. Anyone can distinguish Macedonian music from bulgarian music. Why does Volodya Stoyanov sing MACEDONIAN songs? Because it is MUCH different than Bulgarian.

  • Charming interpretation!

  • Болгары ёпт!!!

  • Wonderful! One of the great comedy performances of all time! From the honky-tonk piano to the out-of-tune singers to the conductor who appears to be undergoing a series of convulsions, all in all a work of genius! The Monty Python crew would have been proud!

  • Congratulations!!!

    Bulgarian folklor is a great!

  • This is not a bulgarian song and you know this very well! Struga is city in Macedonia and the language is MACEDONIAN. MACEDONIA IS NOT BULGARIAN! GET OVER IT!

  • if all the people in macedonia are like you, we are very glad that macedonia is not bulgarian NOW. it was a fine place in the past, when it was not ruled and manipulated by the grand-serbian chovinists

  • @littleindigoflower: WTF are you talking about? What past? When part of Macedonia was under Bulgarian occupation? If you do remember that you are at least 70 years old, if not than you are just brainwashed little girl. And once again: MACEDONIA WAS NEVER BULGARIAN! Part of Macedonia was occupied by Bulgaria! So go F*** yourself and your Bulgaria!

  • @Ivicakmk Why you don''t read history? Vardar Macedonia was a part of Bulgarian medieval kingdom at least 700 yrs -if you don't know just read history books. Macedonism and Yugoslavism made such brainwashing and terror in Vardar Macedonia that is incomparable to the terror of the Ottoman turks. After 500 yrs of turkish rule all slavs in Vardar area called themselves bulgarians and were part of Bulgarian Patriarchy. For 90 yrs serbs destroyed almost all bulgarian in same territory.....

  • @Osogovec LOL! You are typical example of brainwashed Tatar. In the medieval period Macedonia was for 100 years under Bulgarian occupation. So you say it was at least 700 years... 100 is different than 700! Educate yourself before spreading fake propaganda and before you make the hate between Macedonians and Tatars even biggers than it is now!

  • @Ivicakmk Macedonia was never under Bulgarian occupation. It was a part of Bulgaria since the rule of khan Kuber(7-th century) and khan Krum(9-th). Have you ever read in the history about a war between bulgarians and "macedonians"? Isn't it normal occupied nation to fight for his country against invaders? Why the ""macedonians"" did not fight against Bulgaria? Don't tell me about the class fight between communists and fascist during the 40-ties of XX-th cent. The same fight occured in Bulgaria.

  • @Osogovec Don't you dare to tell me shit like that. Macedonians were too weak to stand against Bulgaria or Byzantine. And yes, half of Porece, the region that I come from, was under Bulgarian and half under Serbian occupation. My grandfather kicked your asses out of there! So stfu and READ!

  • @Ivicakmk Your grandfather and your people did not kick our army from Makedonia. This is a lie. Our army declared a war to Germany after the Soviet Red army entered Bulgaria. The decision for Vardarska was taken by Stalin, Tito,Churhicll and the other leaders of the allies. You have nothing with this.

  • @Osogovec I don't but my grandfather have, he was killing Bulgarians big time. I have his medal at home :)

  • Everything is wrong in this region Macedonia.....

  • Great Bulgarian song! Congratulations!!!

  • Great song!

  • Bravo! Shalom Israel!

  • Thank you so much, dear Israeli friends, for the superb performance of one of the most popular Bulgarian folk songs from Vardar Macedonia! I do highly apprteciate the efforts of the Bulgarian Jewish community to popularize Bulgarian culture. Best wishes!
