If youve played freelancer and home world 2 this EVE online thing will seem like a beta version of both those games combined in a mmorpg format.

Its far from finished, EVE will be good in 4 years if they keep this up, but not now! its a piece of shit now.. play the beta, and thats it, fuck the game off!

@Dynaverse: No, it doesn't. EVE is way better than STO. EVE has been good for 6 years, and will probably be good for 10 more years, probably more.

The most awesome thing in STO is probably the character creation, which will end in everyone running arround as a neon monster with antennas.

Trust me on this, try this game. They are releasing a top-notch addon every 6-7 month, for free. And, FUCK star trek online.

I'd agree with you except that the Gallente seem far too self-righteous and hypocritical, from my perspective, to be the EU... And the Minmatar... I just as soon liken them to South American revolutionaries... or any other revolutionaries, for that matter. They always reminded me of rebel factions in other games, and I always played those rebellious underdog factions that fought for their freedoms. Like the Cybrans. Minmatar feel very Cybran (SupCom). Or MLF (Starsiege).

The Minmatar also have an overabundance of Norse references in their naming schemes, so they're most obviously intended to be of Germanic or Scandinavian descent. Much like the creators of the game, who hail from the Scandinavian nation of Iceland.

Actually, the Minmatar are more like Africa. With the slavery background and their fight for freedom. The Asian bloodlines are mixed in with the 4 bases races. The Achura and Khanid are examples of an asian background.

I thought the Caldari were more based around a traditional religious warrior culture centered around an emporer that was conquered and forever changed by the Gallente who introduced them to free market economics and private corporations. In that sense they'd be more like Japan than America.
