  • Oh no, you mentioned Atheists in the video title. Bad idea. Bring on the pseudo-intellectuals!

  • @SuperQweertyuiop Haaa... spot-on.

  • @loopstheloop

Sadly, as we are illiterate, we have no idea what you just said.

  • Comment removed

  • @loopstheloop I think you'll find there are mor illiterate Christians rather than Atheists.

  • @Oxpost Ha... well, you're a great one to make that pathetic argument. You're an ignoramus... open a history book, you gobshite.

  • @loopstheloop I've opened plenty more than you I'd guess, if you still believe in God. Also, do you honestly think that it's a coinsidence that the countries that are lacking in education and living standards in general, are the ones who turn out to be the most religious?

  • @Oxpost But at the same time the Enlightenment came out of a Christian society that allowed you to be free to choose to believe or not to? You're free... enjoy it! If you'd been born outside Christendom that wouldn't be a given. And you're smarter than Aquinas and Darwin, I suppose... lol... Seriously. Get a fucking education.

  • @loopstheloop But then again, had Christianity never existed the dark ages where religious people denied scientific proof (Copernicus is one example) I'm more than certain that the Enlightenment would've begun it's phase a lot earlier. I'm not claiming to be smarter than Dawkins or Aquinas, I know I'm not. But I'm well educated, and between you and me, you're the one who's retorted to insults without having any reason to insult me.

  • @Oxpost "But then again, had Christianity never existed the dark ages where religious people denied scientific proof (Copernicus is one example)^^^who lived SEVERAL centuries after the Dark Ages^^^ I'm more than certain that the Enlightenment would've begun it's ***its*** phase a lot earlier." P.S. And the Dark Ages were due to an influx of Germanic pagan savages into the heartland of Europe... not, as you seem to think, down to Christianity, but quite the opposite. Seriously, crack a tome, FFS.

  • @loopstheloop So that's a factual mistake by me, but the fact that does remain is that several scientific discoveries have been neglected by the church. And in those days the Church had a lot of influence and power which led to them more or less controlling the flow of information. This is something you most certainly cannot deny. Also as of lately, the amount of Atheists around the world are increasing. This is because more and more people start thinking for themselves.

  • SEVERAL glaringly unforgiveable mistakes... & you go on! You're not sure if you're talking about the 6th century or the 16th! Seriously, you know no history. And while I think you're probably even a nice chap, it does need to be pointed out to you that my original comment does apply to you. As for numbers, could you prove an exponential rise in atheism? We know there are two billion Christians about, give or take a million... but people tend to grow out of atheism when they hit their mid teens.

  • @loopstheloop I'm terrible at history. I'm more of a social issues kind off person. I know about various events but I've no idea when they ocurred. As for my claim. Watch an interview with Seth Mcfarlane where they clearly state that atheists are increasing in numbers. In Sweden (where I live), about 85% are nonbelievers (agnostics and atheists). And althroughout Europe those numbers are increasing.

  • @Oxpost Ah come on, mate... if you don't even know about your own country I can't help you. Last time you were polled 73% of Swedes belonged to the Lutheran Church. You've shown a decrease of circa 1% each year recently, but those trends could easily reverse. As it stands the vast majority of Swedes declare themselves Christian (Lutheran). Not a fan of Luther, but thems the facts. Also, roughly 14% of the world population is areligious. Sweden's not high for that figure- the Czechs are.

  • @loopstheloop (And that's being as kind to your cause as possible- including all the wishy washy agnostics and people who are generally confused!)

  • @loopstheloop Go to adherents homepage and then type /largecom/com_atheist. html

  • @loopstheloop No, that were those who were members of the Swedish church. That is not the same thing as being religious. I know plenty of people who are still members of the church but who still consider themselves atheists or agnostics.

  • @Oxpost Oh come off it... who would sign up to be a member of an organisation they opposed? Suppose the Sveriges Fascistiska Folkparti is packed out with all the communists too. And the Swedish Meateaters Association is run by vegetarians. Face it... 74% of people are actively declared Christian in Sweden... and your national flag is a massive cross. You can cod yourself all you like, but those are the facts.

  • @loopstheloop I don't think it's matter of people signing up, I think it's more that people just won't bother signing off. I know I'm gravely mistaken regarding my numbers. But I promise you that at least 50% of us Swedes are Agnostics or Atheists.

  • @loopstheloop I got the dates of various historical events wrong. But the fact remains that the Church has throughout history, no matter when, on several occasions opposed themselves to scientific studies and other forms of evidence. If you deny this, then you are the one who's dim. I thank you for being polite despite being annoyed, but you cannot deny that one fact!

  • @Oxpost That's not a fact unless you're willing to be specific, and frankly you don't seem to have a clue what you're talking about! You're just a very confused individual, but you've a vague idea why you're against the Church which seems based mainly upon fluff and sweeping generalisations that you might as well have picked up from a cereal box. You don't seem to have a concept of time at all, let alone context. I really can't be bothered to argue in this vacuum of logic. All the best.

  • @loopstheloop Creationists are one example. The fact that the earth was round and not flat another, and that the Earth was not the centre of the universe a third. Also, you were mistaken about the poll. That was merely a measurement of how many people were members in the Swedish church at that time, not a poll were people activly wrote down their answer. Something that every person who's ever been baptised is. I'm a member myself, yet I consider myself an atheist. So I'm afraid you

  • @Oxpost are mistaken.

  • Comment removed

  • @loopstheloop This jag yet again. No one is agnostic or atheist on the simple premise that they see no evidence for any deity, and what flimsy evidence that is shown is debunked with consummate ease or explained in terms that do not require a vast leap of faith. No, that cannot be right. That's it! It's obvious! People are only atheist because they hate the Christian God!

    *sigh*

Hows my spelling by the way?

  • @richieblackhearted Vague attempt at base sarcasm and addressing a straw-man point that nobody made... lack of humour and basic comprehension skills... fits right into the wankerish bracket of pseudo-intellectual eejits discussed above. I'd give you an F before we get onto the poor spelling and grammar.

  • @loopstheloop And obvious troll is obvious.

    Back under your bridge

  • @richieblackhearted Don't cry. Personally I thought the cunty photo you you looking smug in a baseball hat was darling, and placed over picture of Darwin, highlighting your misunderstanding that there might exist a conflict between evolution and Christianity... really shows the intellectual sphere you move in at 31... using American internet slang and reasoning like a yank on this topic, plus failure at sarcasm.. you should just move there and be with your kind (the Moronians). Jog on, you twat.

  • @loopstheloop It's a beanie hat. Learn how to use an ellipsis correctly. There may be Christians that understand and accept evolution but creationists are a different matter. I'm sure you can troll a little harder and not resort to petty name calling. Then again, maybe not.

  • Well fuck off and deal with them, you gobshite. 2 billion Christians in the world, &4 protestant heretical creationists. You live in the UK, yet you still use a backwater of the USA as a cultural reference. TWO BILLION. And you argue against 4 people as if they represented the whole, while those 4 people wouldn't consider the other 2 billion Christian? & nice one on the dictionary, but that's not what ellipsis means. Shove your beanie right up your arse- not a yank, though you might be a moron.

  • @loopstheloop Cry more, troll.

  • @richieblackhearted Original... repeat my own comment back and ignore the logical beating. Illiterate little yankphile sasanach twat. You're the reason your country is down the Swany... fat under-educated Americansied ignoramus.

  • @loopstheloop It is spelled "Swannee"

I am now out trolling a try-hard troll. This is fun!

  • Comment removed

  • @loopstheloop Those things I just stated are all facts. Look them up. You were the one who made a mistake when talking about the "poll" which infact wasn't a poll, it was just a survey of how many registered members the church of Sweden had.

  • @Oxpost I said 73% of Swedes were signed up as members of the Lutheran Church of Heretics. You, however, had claimed that 90% were sworn atheists... result = I was right, and you know nothing about anything, not even your own ridiculous country. Now DIG UP, STUPID.

  • @loopstheloop No, you said that those people had personally written down that they were believers. Which is complete and utter bullshit. I first thought you were quite a smart guy, but the more you write, the dumber you seem to become.

  • @Oxpost I said they were down in pen and ink as Christians. They are. You're wrong. You are a gobshite who got it wrong: you claimed 90% atheists, whereas 73% are declared Christians... how the fuck can I, someone, who admittedly could not give a solitary shit about Sweden, know more about Sweden than a Swede who specialises in demographics and social issues (queer)? Uhuh. You're not the sharpest.

  • @loopstheloop Yes, and I admitted to be wrong about that. And also, how come you haven't written anything as a comeback to those three examples of the Church oppossing scientific proof. Those are things I got more than right, and you just ignore them because of that?

  • @Oxpost You didn't give any specific case, you made vast and moronic general sweeping alegations, which understandably I didn't bother to address, whether to agree or disagree. You know no history. We have established that, and you admit it. What possible comment could you be seeking? I'd change the subject if I were you.

  • @loopstheloop No. Fact is that Creationists deny that Evolution has ever occured, even though science has contributed unrefutable proof that Evolution has actually happened. And the Church did also deny the fact that the Earth was not the centre of the universe, this is common knowledge (to most people, I don't know about you). And the same goes for my third point about the Earth being round and not flat.

  • You're an ignorant little shit. JPII specifically outlined the Church's view on evolution for morons like you who might have misunderstood. How many 'literalists' do you know in Europe? They're a ridiculous sect of a ridiculous sect (Protestantism). There are fuck all. 2 billion Chirstians- answer me: how many are literalists? How moronic to argue against people that nobody takes seriously. And similar goes for geocentricity. You need to read some fucking history. Your ignorance is embarrassing.

  • @loopstheloop In modern times they are rare, but I wasn't talking about modern times.

  • @Oxpost Well, when the fuck are you talking about in 2 millennia of theology and philosophy? You'd need to fucking well know. Listen... never mind. Seriously. Take it handy.

  • @loopstheloop Now I'm done with you. You know that those things I wrote are true, and if you don't then you're even more of an idiot than I thought. Good day to you, arrogant sir.

  • @Oxpost Think again. Suwanee (or to a lesser extent Suwannee) is correct. Swany, however, is the illiterate phonetic spelling employed by toothless, banjo plucking, inbreds.

Nice to see you pigeon hole yourself like that.

  • @richieblackhearted I think you've got the wrong person, cause I have no clue of what you're talking about.

  • @richieblackhearted Wrong... look it up in a book, you imbecile. Bo-ok. 'Book'. Tell me, who do you fancy to score the first slam dunk in this weekend's World Series of Yankball? You reckon the Baltimore Badgers will romp home, or you think the Atlanta Aardvarks will defy the spread (you cultural whore)? Which 'beanie' will you be placing on your fat, empty head?

  • @loopstheloop There is no need for the hyphen in book. It's a single syllable. Yet another aspect of grammar you fragrantly misuse.

I have just worked out why you are so arrogant, abusive, homophobic and racist. There's only one nation that breeds such alcoholic, semi-articulate, obese smackheads. No wonder you have a problem with cultural identity coming from a colony like yours.

Would you like some vinegar for that massive chip on your shoulder, troll boy? Perhaps trolley boy is closer.

  • @richieblackhearted Ahhhh ha ha ha I love when morons try and seem clever by googling words they don't understand. I hyphenated book to indicate I have realised the concept is new to you. You're perfect for this case: an utterly idiotic and Americanised lefty who considers himself clever so latches onto atheism as a cause, whereas intellectually he's centuries out-of-date. You're specifically the type of eejit I was referring to. Brilliant.

  • @loopstheloop Sweaty ;)

  • @richieblackhearted ??? That would be a saxon pejorative term for the Scottish, you fat-headed, yanky-doodle noofter of a Nigel. Ha... you tart!

  • @loopstheloop Och aye the noo, ya wee sweaty ;)

  • @richieblackhearted Moronic, fat-headed sasanach.

  • @loopstheloop Donald, where's ya troosers?

  • @richieblackhearted Ask your mum.

  • @loopstheloop FREEDOM!

  • @loopstheloop You know, afer reading your comments, I've concluded you're too awful to even bother having an intelligent conversation with, so I'm just going to wish that you'd fuck off.

  • @RoLLWithITOasis1 Oh no, someone called RollWithOasis isn't down with me! Shut the fuck up, you tasteless twat. You're clearly a mong.

  • @loopstheloop Hahaha! The whole world "isn't down with you!" As for your backward views on religion and logic, a primary school student could tell you that a logical stand point for something that isn't evidenced at all is to be sceptical, and that your laughable tyraids - without the slightest attempt to evidence your beliefs - don't stand up as constructive arguments at all.

  • @RoLLWithITOasis1 I can see you're MAD FOR IT~!! Stupid cunt.'Tyraids'... YOU GENIUS!!!!!! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 'to evidence' Muuuuuhahaha. Well done, I needed a laugh. Cheers.

  • @loopstheloop No, we just have logic, you have no concept of what that is, and that the proof of burden is on you, yet you fail to be able to provide that proof.

  • @viperchilli Sorry, but if you had any education at all you'd know that the study of logic and Christianity go hand in hand. You're simply ignorant.

  • @loopstheloop And there's no burden of proof in a question of Faith- by definition you can not prove one way or the other. Believe what you like and piss off.

  • @loopstheloop Your either just a lone and sad troll or you have no concept of reality. Which is it? I have degree's in mathematics and computer science, I know more about logic than you know about your so called religion. Which is nothing more than stories written by man in the bronze age for power and control. Any true logical person that studied history & religion would know that. I have read the bible from cover to cover, it's laughable at best on how it claims to be true facts.

  • @viperchilli Degrees with an apostrophe? From which institution, might I ask? Haaaaa. Another GENIUS.

  • @loopstheloop Never said I was an English major.

  • @viperchilli No danger of that. So which institutions hand out a higher degree to someone who can't spell in his mother-tongue? Name and shame, please.

  • @loopstheloop Not my mother tongue, so another thing you got wrong yet again. Programming is universal, don't need to be native English for that. You must have quite the life if all you can do is say stupid things to others that are at a level intelligence you can only dream of reaching. Disfrute de su vida de hombre solitario poco triste

  • @viperchilli Ha... listen, your English is shite for anybody with a degree of any kind. Forming a plural with an apostrophe... that's the mark of a moron, not someone struggling to learn a foreign language. Is that how it works in Spanish? No? Awwww. Hard luck. ->>> Beso's, marica.

  • @loopstheloop How many languages do you know then? Oh yeah, your brain couldn't possibly have room for more than one because it's filled up with nonsense religion. Enjoy your time on this planet, I'm off to create something with my programming skills, while you stay here and post laughable statements. Enjoy your time wasting. Bye Bye.

  • @loopstheloop

    @viperchilli

Oh, would you two shut up.

  • @ImperialGeorge Amen

  • @ImperialGeorge Holy shit, epic BM thread going on here. They should get a room and work it out of their system, if you know what I mean.

  • @WolfEyesatNight As I suspected you're a twat

  • Comment removed

  • indeed heaven is for atheists, after all ignorance is bliss.

  • Heaven for Atheists.... now that has actually got me thinking quite a bit. I did Religious Education for one of my GCSEs and ideas like this would have spiced up our debates (let's just say that they were pretty boring)

  • "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?" - Epicurus.

  • @DaveDinnerDude I'm gonna go with the 'not omnipotent' option!

  • Views 123450 :O lol

  • That would be a heaven I would enjoy.

  • @JusBenLawyered Yeah, I mean spending an eternity with an enraged Hitchens would be a ton of fun.

  • Just one problem, which one of the 10 million gods do you place your bet on?

  • Heaven: Being able to watch demons stick red hot needles into all the sanctimonious christians who went to hell.

With QI on channel 2 for eternity,

  • he knows what your thinkin!

  • actually atheism doesn't exclude the belief in an afterlife..

  • @nejtilsvampe but atheism is generally based on skepticism which leads most people to also conclude there is no afterlife

  • @nejtilsvampe hvad er der i vejen med svampe?

  • This was back when david mitchell was pretty

  • but that would be hell for atheists... so there is no heaven for them, which i'm sure is ok, cause they don't believe in it anyhow.

  • Really I wouldn't want to live in "heaven"...what is it like...all I want? All I want is a nice bed and a cup of hot tea. Not that much to ask for...can even get it on earth. What am I missing here?

  • David looks really good here, lost a lot of weight

  • @CrissCross407 yeah dont worry about concepts of eternity - a comedian lost some weight

  • @cardigan3000 well it was a funny clip, but I'm already clear on my concepts of eternity, and they hadn't touched on anything new or amazing really. The most surprising thing was david, since i'd only ever seen him in his pudgy adorable state, who are you to say what should or shouldn't be commented on?

  • Haha!

  • It's basically a false dichotomy.

Either there is a god or there isn't. That's two options, but if there is a god, then which one? Eathe Judeo-Christian God? If so, which denomination? Allah? Again, which denomination? Brahman? Quetzalcoatl? Odin? Ra? The list goes on.

So either there is a god or there isn't, but if there is, how can you pick the right one? You stand a much better chance by not believing in any of them.

  • @Vehementi The

  • @Vehementi of course you could say that there is a deity but he/they/she/it just hasn't manifested itself in anyway, so those aren't THE only options... but yeah, you're right, there's an infinite number of possibilities, so believing in any "actual god" is atleast to me a ludicrous idea, even if there is a possibility that there is a god. Or maybe there's a group of sort-of-gods, containing all the gods we could imagine....

  • @Purojannu, and there would even be a sort-of-god who would be for the atheist, for whom there would be no afterlife? would that count? OR! maybe i should go to bed, as it's 4.30 am.

  • If there is an afterlife then it must have gone to Chaos after people like Hitler, Che Guevara, Nitzhe, Karl Marx, Josef Stalin, Vladimir Lenin, John F Kennedy, Rosevelt, And so manny other leaders (in some respects) Have gotten there...

I dont care if its heaven or hell...

If The comandande comes either place, There is going to be a Revolution XD

  • Who in thier right mind would want to go to this so called heaven? I mean God commited Genocide and is generaly a nasty peice of work who wont lift a finger for anyone. Go read the old testament and tell me you really want to spend the rest of time with the God that is discribed in it.

  • I reckon God is a scientist, the last of this kind and decided to do his last experiment to see what might have caused his species to become endangered. He created humans and observed how they evolved, however one of the measurements for evolution was a made-up book that God threw down and observed how sophisticated humans based on how many people still believed in this made up book instead of looking at hard proven facts and forming their own opinions based on their intelligence.

  • @britesideofdeath nice point man, we are guinea pigs !

    which does explain a lot

  • @britesideofdeath I like the idea.

  • @britesideofdeath I have seen more thoughtful theories smeared in shit on the wall of a service station lavatory.

  • @toolworks Pretty impressed with myself, I thought of it in the space of 3 seconds. I think I'm a genius.

  • @britesideofdeath They say there is a thin line between genius and insanity.

  • @toolworks Don't worry, I have good eyesight.

  • @britesideofdeath But you are assuming that god was responsible for the bible. Which is either bullshit, or he is an incompetent, hateful, moronic, sadistic, celestial dictator. I'm going with it's bullshit.

  • That would be just like God..... always with the jokes that guy.

  • I am a pastafarianism. Which means i believe in a flying spaggetti monster creating the universe.

Its just as logical as a giant guy with a beard clicking his fingers and creating life

    =)

  • Too many boring religious posters on youtube, blablabla bla bla god is holy.. Holy shit

  • "SOD OFF."

  • i believe i read a post on reddit similar to this before. They were talking about how there might be a heaven, but only atheist and skeptics are able to enter, because only those who are willing to take the risk, will he truly appreciate. So basically he didn't provide the evidence, and those who use the critical thinking skills that he provided us with, will receive a reward. Bit of a mind fuck ain't it?

  • @crazyrebelliouschick Mind fuck? No. Wishful thinking by people claiming to be atheist yet afraid that they might be wrong? Yes.

  • @KazeGaara89 hey no need to get shitty. i just thought it was relevant, expanding on a comment made on the clip. And does it really matter if an atheist has a niggling thought in the back of their mind that they might be wrong? That's what happens to people who have been heavily indoctrinated as a child, those thoughts aren't all that simple to get rid of. (and no, I'm not talking from "personal experience", just incase it may seem that way.)

  • I LOVE THIS.

  • 7 people who watched this video where christans

  • My children, this is God.

Please, feel free to eat all the pork you like. It was just a little prank. Also, stop wearing those ridiculous hats- you're giving me a bad name.

  • @darris321

FALSE GOD! Thou shalt be punished for mocking me.

I am the One True God, and what I actually want is to be bummed by a pink carrot, I couldn't figure out how to do it, make a pink carrot, I invented humans so they can genetically modify carrots into pink, then it is finished. All has come to pass, and I shall end the universe whilst I bum myself.

Let it be so...hurry the f*** up humans.

  • Cannot breathe! "Sod off!" This is too perfect.

  • Which QI episode is this from?

  • @RhumanIaffectionP

    Read the description.

  • I am actually torn between two faiths; while your god's promise of eternal life is very persuasive, the Papua New Guinean mud god, Pikkiwoki, is promising a pig and as many coconuts as you can carry.

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark

instead try your government promises or better yet try the iphone.

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark

    I rather like pork chops.

    Roasted Ham.

    Ham Sandwiches.

Coconut milk is a lovely base for cooking as well.

Good heavens I need time to think about this one...

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark no limits on the coconuts so long as you can carry them?? I have rather long arms so I could seriously benefit from that.....

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark Now see, the Church of Pikkiwoki should send people around houses to inform the inhabitants of the greater truth. They might actually get converts.

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark

Well I mean, that's not much of a hard choice, is it? What good would eternal life be if you didn't have any pork or coconuts to enjoy?

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark That's almost 14 coconuts! O_O

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark

Does the Pig come with a Saddle?

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark I'm in, but it's only fair to warn Pikkiwoki in advance.... I can carry a lot of coconuts!

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark are we allowed some kind of bag to carry the coconuts? if so im sold on that god..

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark david thorne...

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark rofl, Devastating whit:- 10! Logic:-10!

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark Go for the coconuts man, who wants eternal life if you can't have coconuts?

  • David Thorne

  • @AnnaGoesToThePark Seriously?! Wow, goodbye atheism.

  • that's what's gonna happen to Fry XD hahaha angels and creamcakes, surprise!

  • @AlexBeckable And you still be more rational than most deities.

  • @WolfEyesatNight Christian's are crazy

  • @LLOYD19851012

Your comment is poor and disturbing.
