I met Myles maybe 20 years ago. We talked about this song and well, it's actually a true story. He was in highschool when this "relationship" occurred.

The funniest thing he said to me after telling me this is that he met the girl out west 20 years later after he was rich and famous. She had already known the song was about her and when they finally reunited, she told him she loved it. First thing Myles said to her was "How do you like me now?"

This is a beautiful song but kind of pointless. Singing to someone who doesn't want your love will accomplish nothing. She couldn't care less about your feelings or she'd still be with you.
