I use windows as well because its efficent enough to run everything I need. Programs such as 3DS Max, Maya, Visual studio, Unreal UDK as well as many other programs. Windows is very customisable and also user friendly. But these kinds of adverts as well as adverts from say Apple, are designed on the quanity of people it can reach out to. All this madness between Mac and Windows is kinda stupid in a way but I know more reasons why I support Windows then Mac. Not saying that windows is perfect.
In fact I'd just like to say, Every advert is going to be "staged" and created with in the idea to persuade a person to buy the product as that is the whole point of an advert. Since it costs alot of money to create adverts and air them you can understand there going to do what they can to sell there product. Try getting 16 GB of RAM in a Mac without adding more than $200 USD to the price (each 4 GB memory module in my case costed only 42 US dollars). I can actually open up my system to upgrade parts without having someone else do it for me.
My opinion is that Apple did a lot of Get a Mac ads that had "I'm a Mac" and "I'm a PC". Now Microsoft is just allowed to use "I'm a PC?" Like that's not borrowing ideas from a competitor. I own a Dell mini 9 for my portable computing needs. Upgraded the flash hdd and doubled the ram and Ubuntu rocks on it. Again I think you're reading far into simple and stupid advertising. Never have I had a more difficult time importing pictures onto a computer than I have using iphoto.
On windows you plug in camera and it shows up under windows explorer as a second hard drive. Open it up drag and drop images to camera, what could be easier. When you plug a camera into a mac it doesn't show up under finder. You have to use import from iPhoto. At a friends house, iPhoto would crash after image 127. So we tried to import again thinking it would start where it left off, no, it started over from the beginning and then crashed at the same image. Thats just stupid design.
I seem to remember going to college one time and needing to import photos from my camera. Guess what I need to download a driver for the camera. Well, I can not download drivers or software on our college computers. Plugged it into the very macs they had and it recognized it just fine.
ROFL. I've never had to download a single driver for any digital camera using windows. It just shows up as an external hard drive and reads the memory card. Just drag and drop what photos you want to any folder and your set. Same for video cameras, picks up everyone I've used in the last 5 years just fine. I've had terrible issues trying to use iPhoto to import pictures, Apple's software is just far to rigid, and doesn't give you nearly enough options.
Apple software? You mean like Final Cut, Aperture, iWork, iLife. I mean really List a product for the price of iLife that has all the same features on a pc. And I have never ever had any issues importing photos into iphoto.
DDR3 can handle a very high clock speed making it much faster memory. Apple doesn't support it last I checked. :D GOOD JOB APPLE. WAY TO STAY UP TO DATE!

More expensive doesn't mean better. It often can mean a company charging far to much for a product. Macs and PC's use identical hardware, but macs are still more costly than a PC. Can't forget to mention that you are given a lot more freedom as a user when running Windows than when running OSX.
Actually it is not far more. Generally a comparably spec iMac against dell all in one is about the same price. With in a 100 to 200 dollars. THe same goes with the mac pro if you go through OEM. Yes the macbook line costs a lot but the product of the case costs more and macbooks have led displays which right now is still very costly. Apple is also probably the greenest OEM out there.
Honestly I could really care less about how "green" a company is. It really doesn't matter to me. First of the iMac is a god awful line of computers. Upgrading is terribly limited and there very overpriced. If your talking Apple desktops then compare building your own PC to buying and equivelant computer from Apple. You won't get a comfortable keyboard on any Macbook. Can't forget to mention that it's also missing vital keys such as home and end and a proper delete key.
And I honestly don't even want to bother building my own computer. Again you are comparing OEM to custom build. As I SAID if you compare an iMac to similar ALL IN ONE pcs they cost about the same.

agreed. in 2004, my family got a compaq desktop for $500. it had 40gb hard drive, 256mb ram and an intel celeron processor. this system is horrible. it is slow typing things in like on google, it takes 7 minutes to load the internet when it is first booted up. Now, i could get a mac mini for the same price. theyve got 1gb of ram, a 120gb hard drive and a core 2 duo processor. thats much better than my computer.
Tbh, you are comparing two compleetly different products. The HP is a low budget solution while Mac's are quite exoensive. Even though the Mac has better parts than the other laptop I have to say that quite a lot of the premium you pay for a Mac is to have a white apple on the lid.
On a second note, the battery life is more of an operating system issue. Vista doesn't have very good power saving features comparitively

It's not about the fact the Microsoft is advertising, it's more of how they cut corners. For example, the person in the advert is an actress and not a real person as it is to be perceived. If this was a real person, they would have a reason to be buying this; Developer, Photographer, CEO etc which is another corner MS missed.
If they had those reasons, it wouldn't be a big thing.

I own a Dell mini 9 for my portable computing needs. Upgraded the flash hdd and doubled the ram and Ubuntu rocks on it. Again I think you're reading far into simple and stupid advertising. Take another look at the blatant lies Apple uses in their commercials to sell there machines. It's really just rather sad in the end. This is one of my biggest problems with Mac users, they seem to embrace any oppurtunity given to trash MS or any other competitor.

God, it was just a comment on how small some of the computers at the store are. Mac users need to argue actual facts instead of stupid shit like how it looks and how MS is somehow evil. On windows you plug in camera and it shows up under windows explorer as a second hard drive. Open it up drag and drop images to camera, what could be easier. When you plug a camera into a mac it doesn't show up under finder. You have to use import from iPhoto. At a friends house, iPhoto would crash after image 127. So we tried to import again thinking it would start where it left off, no, it started over from the beginning and then crashed at the same image. Thats just stupid design.

I seem to remember going to college one time and needing to import photos from my camera. Guess what I need to download a driver for the camera. Well, I can not download drivers or software on our college computers. Plugged it into the very macs they had and it recognized it just fine.

ROFL. I've never had to download a single driver for any digital camera using windows. It just shows up as an external hard drive and reads the memory card. Just drag and drop what photos you want to any folder and your set. Same for video cameras, picks up everyone I've used in the last 5 years just fine. I've had terrible issues trying to use iPhoto to import pictures, Apple's software is just far to rigid, and doesn't give you nearly enough options.

More expensive doesn't mean better. It often can mean a company charging far to much for a product. Macs and PC's use identical hardware, but macs are still more costly than a PC. Can't forget to mention that you are given a lot more freedom as a user when running Windows than when running OSX.

Actually it is not far more. Generally a comparably spec iMac against dell all in one is about the same price. With in a 100 to 200 dollars. THe same goes with the mac pro if you go through OEM. Yes the macbook line costs a lot but the product of the case costs more and macbooks have led displays which right now is still very costly. Apple is also probably the greenest OEM out there.

Honestly I could really care less about how "green" a company is. It really doesn't matter to me. First of the iMac is a god awful line of computers. Upgrading is terribly limited and there very overpriced. If your talking Apple desktops then compare building your own PC to buying and equivelant computer from Apple. You won't get a comfortable keyboard on any Macbook. Can't forget to mention that it's also missing vital keys such as home and end and a proper delete key.

agreed. in 2004, my family got a compaq desktop for $500. it had 40gb hard drive, 256mb ram and an intel celeron processor. this system is horrible. it is slow typing things in like on google, it takes 7 minutes to load the internet when it is first booted up. Now, i could get a mac mini for the same price. theyve got 1gb of ram, a 120gb hard drive and a core 2 duo processor. thats much better than my computer.

Tbh, you are comparing two compleetly different products. The HP is a low budget solution while Mac's are quite exoensive. Even though the Mac has better parts than the other laptop I have to say that quite a lot of the premium you pay for a Mac is to have a white apple on the lid.
On a second note, the battery life is more of an operating system issue. Vista doesn't have very good power saving features comparitively

Anyway, I think you got a little bit too caught up with a few details in the Microsoft commercial although most of your reasoning is valid. I think some of your opinions are really debatable however.
Overall, I think your vid was worth watching but I think you and a few others are really ripping apart the Microsoft commercial to simply justify the premium that you paid for your computer (a premium that I'm sure you'll agree is out of hand).

I always call it the 'Mac Shop' and I own a 2 weeks old iMac and an aluminum 13'' Macbook. I don't see why fan boys don't like that name. All my friends who own PC's wish they had macs because after seeing my stuff they figured they wasted their money on a bunch of crap.

by queens english its AL-UH-MINI-UM, by american english its how you say it. although both are permited, depending if you life in america or england, queens english, which is used in england is the proper pronunciation. im not trying to be offense of anything.lol. just how it is.

I used to have macbook but now own a vaio fw.. eventhough I bought this for being one of the best pc's in the market it is well below the macbook pros in overall quality (plastic made, design flaws, heavy etc.). cant wait when macbook pro's get the next upgrade.. hope the prices will drop :D
