This takes me back to my childhood, and the love I grew to have for my step dad, Mr Willie, may he R.I.P., he taught us lessons that we still use today....
We backed up Richard Spencer when He received The Grammy- We went under The Winstons at the show - we were Dennis Wheeler & The John Tise Band backing up Richard Spencer and Billy Joe Royal during that year on The Road Shows.
Great cover version! When did THIS version come out? The Winston's original(?) was in 1969. I think alot of OC Smith's songs are remakes. In fact, I think "Little Green Apples" was originally a country song by Bobby Russell.
Great song.
