  • I really appreciate your ingenuity. The only concern that I would have is this: With the blending process, I would think that it could be doing too much to the integrity of the vegetable/fruit. Perhaps too much oxidation or just the blending could destroy the enzymes? However, doing what you can and drinking what you can to be in good health is an admirable thing to do. I did invest in an Omerga Vert 350. I figure that it will last me a long time and it is an investment in my health. Regards

  • That's good stuff? *You're* good stuff! Thanks for showing it can be done without breaking the bank. :)

  • Thanks I was thinking about getting the vitamix or blendtec but this looks decent. I will do this for now.

  • I bought a juicer at walmart for $70 called the Juiceman it is designed just like the more expensive Breville Juicers....it works great!

  • @halucijason Actually this is good to know. My roommate is in the market for a non expensive juicer. Let me know if you could if it does okay with the leafy greens, cause his main objective is to get into green juicing mixed with fruits without going through my process.

  • @rashb yeah works good for the leafy greens... I've used collard greens, parsley, cilantro, mint, arugalo.. the really nice thing is I can throw a whole lemon or apple in at time.

  • @rashb Cool thanks for getting back to me on that.

  • Your awesome... keep doing what your doing!!!!!

  • @kumasuke1 Much appreciation.

  • Thank you for the tip on the paint strainer bags. I was looking for a more affordable way to strain my juices from my vita mix blender . Now, I have a way. Off to Home Depot tomorrow. Cheers!

  • @madamhummingbird That's what it's all about! :)

  • LOL Your so silly!! I cant wait to get my juicer tomorrow!!!

  • Thank you! This helped me a lot. I didn't strain mines b/c my blender liquifies and I actually like the "pulp" like pieces left over. However, I will still buy the stainer just to test it out as well. Thanks again.

  • Hi, I was just wondering why you have to drain it? I`am new at this so I do not know that much about this! Thanks! :)

  • @XoxoXjenny On the documentary "The Gerson Miracle" where they heal people with cancer with the juices they say the nutrients are instantly absorbed without the pulp. Also some regular blenders aren't strong enough to make vegetable fiber smooth. Mine wasn't and that's what lead me to this. But honestly I don't like drinking vegetable fiber anyways. I eat enough of them. Somewhere in the comments someone answered this better than me a few weeks ago. But this the basic jist.

  • @rashb Okay, thanks a lot! :)

  • @XoxoXjenny With the fiber included, you can fit in about 1/3 of a pound of greens in (let's say for example) a 2 cup serving of greens. With the fiber removed, you can get the nutrients from a full pound of greens in about the same volume! Try it - you'll feel GREAT! (unless of course it causes you to detox, then you'll feel like crap for a while THEN you'll feel GREAT! LOL

  • @agapemom lol Thank you! That was helpful! I have heard from a lot of people that they felt A LOT better from drinking "green juice" lol

  • @XoxoXjenny You are WELCOME! :-)

  • I did just the same thing but with broccoli instead of kale and it was some nasty tasting crap.

  • @FloridaRaider Oh yeah I've done broccoli and it was pretty bad. If you add broccoli you have to throw a ton of other stuff in there.

  • @rashb Why is broccoli so bad, and what would offset that to add to it? Great vid, btw.

  • @punchdrunkatheist Thanks. Really you'd have to use it as minor ingredient amongst a bunch of ingredients. Like my favorite drink is green apple, spinach, ginger, lemon, and sometimes mint. I've thrown 3 or 4 broccoli crowns with it and couldn't taste it. What makes it taste bad as a main ingredient is the sulphur in it is over powering. Usually I'll just eat the broccoli most of the time instead.

  • Wow, what a great video! Thank you!

  • We're going to do it with a crappy blender, just to show you.

    *cut to my blender*

  • Vivaldi playing + black guy = AWESOME !!!

  • @fringedlunatic613 Just trying to stay a diverse brotha my brotha!

  • The phytonutrients are in the juice. If you want the fiber ingest it. You can get fiber from other sources. People with serious digestive problems do better with the fiber strained completely out of the juice.

  • Thank you! Thank you! We have been drinking juice from our blender with paint strainers for almost three months now! Thanks again for posting this!

  • Very educational!

  • When I first started juicing in the mid seventies in college all any of us had were Osterizers and strainers. It worked for us back then! Thanks for showing people that they don't have to lay out big bucks to get started juicing.

  • I've always wanted to do something like this added to my diet, but isn't removing the fiber defeating the purpose of how it has it's own benefits for the body? I realize fiber isn't always great tasting, so if you remove it, what do you supplement in its' place for fiber rich foods?

  • @SterlingMinerals According to all documentaries I've seen including the one that talk about curing cancer with these kinds of juices, all the vitamins & minerals are in the juice part of it, not the fiber. For me personally I eat enough fruits and vegetables anyways for my fiber. Also if I make my juice more veggie than fruitish, it gives you a nice clean bowel movement when your ready to go. I would say do smoothies, but I've felt way more benefits from fresh juice! Give it a try! :)

  • @SterlingMinerals I blend 1/2 of an apple, 1/2 of a lime, 2 carrots, ginger & 1 clove garlic KEEPING the fiber in (to modulate the blood sugar effects of these higher sugar foods) then I use my Vitamix to JUICE a pound of green using Rashb's method, then mix them together. The benefit of fiber is that it slows (but not prevent) the absorption of nutrients. The benefit of removing fiber from greens is the ability to 3x or 4x the VOLUME of nutrients (greens) you can consume in one sitting.

  • A Gape Mom, dear lord the innuendo

  • @PretenNim LOL yeah I thought about that too when I first met her. The funny thing is that she is this nice Christian lady, and I might've butchered the pronounciation of her screenname. Still not sure if I said it right.

  • @rashb Uh (as in Ugh) Ga (as in Lady Ga Ga) Pay (like you pay for something) = Agape! I'm sitting here drinking a Green Juice made this exact same way!

  • @agapemom Haha yeah that pronounciation sounds much cleaner. By the way I bought a ninja blender and even though it does great for how I make juice, it makes smoothies worse than a regular blender. So I guess your Vitamix wins in that department. Though I would also like to try Montell's blender as well.

  • @rashb Check out the Amazon.com reviews before you buy the Montell Williams machine... Those reviews are the best selling tool for the Vitamix out there :-) BTW, Montel uses a Vitamix at home, and only recommends the Vitamix in his book, "Living Well"! I use my Vitamix to juice just like you did in this video.

  • @agapemom Well Vitamix it is. Yeah I will never abandon this technique for juicing. I guess since I already have the Ninja, I might as well get the Vitamix opposed to the Montell blender when I'm ready, because at that point I don't want to spend that much and still have it be flawed like the Ninja. I still love my Ninja for juice though right now. Didn't know Montell uses a Vita. Interesting!

  • @PretenNim LOL ;-)

  • Thanks!!

  • "baaad boyyyyss, come out and playyy -- ayyyyy"

  • i use a metal strainer with a handle and use the back of a spoon to mash out the juice.

i think a cheap blender will hold up a lot better if a person cuts their veggies up in to small pieces. less strain on the blender motor.

i like to throw in a diced apple with my green juice.

  • oh crap i just poored mine down the sink cause of all the junk in it, couldnt drink it... should have watched this before hand.. THANKS for this video :D

  • @DarlingKaya Ha I've been there my sista as for as throwing stuff down the drain. The first time I ever tried to make a green smoothie with Kale it was anything but smooth! That's what lead me to this. Enjoy the solution!

  • thANKS FOR SHOWING HOW WITHOUT A FANCY JUICER

  • If you got kids or very little time, I would go blender cause you can be making kids green smoothies and what not to get there vegetables. But if it's strictly juice, I would say get that juice that the youtube user "liferegenerator" uses. Cause most juicers seem to be either better at fruit and bad at veggies or vice versa. But with his juicer he's always seen using both and his video makes me want a juicer sometimes.

  • This is brilliant! thank you. I can't afford those 600.00 blenders and my juicer is a pain in the tuchis to clean.

  • Would you recommend just buying a juicer or blender for green juice? I'm trying decide.

  • Lmao it gives u a boner that's a plus Lmao man where I live their is hardly any organic I wana really start eatin better I got a blender only thing I can find organic around here is letace carots apples an oranges no of that goodie green green Lmao

  • What was the diet info for the fat sick doc man I fell like crap

  • @heythisrocks For 60 days he drinks only fresh fruits and vegetables. He has a Autoimmune disease, he has to take tons of pills & injections and he's 100 lbs over weight. By the end of it, he's off all the pills and loses crazy weight. It's called "Fat, Sick and nearly Dead." He gets other people to do it in the doc too and they get results.

  • @rashb I seen it I wana do it i have an auto immune disease as well one I'm not proud off and could kill me every since I got it my life has ben hell I'm not over weight but my immune system is being destroyed I went from always being active to slowly dieing I wana get back healthy not to mention I got hurt at work and havnt ben able to work in 4months do u know his diet I seen it but I don't remember him actuially telling what it was ;)( I will do it in a heart beat

  • @heythisrocks Well when he got off his strictly juice diet, he then switched to eating just raw fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds. I can't remember if there was meat involved. If you have netflix check out the documentary "The Gerson Miracle." In it there are testimonials of cancer survivors. Or google Gerson Therapy. The diet is very similar to the diet I just described, only it also it includes organic coffee enemas and she claims it cure almost every sickness.

  • @rashb Thx

  • @heythisrocks Do my a favor though. If you try something and it heals your ailments without medicine let me know. I'm thinking this is like a movement, and I want to hear about people who recovered through diet. Thanks.

  • @rashb will do Monday I get my check and only eatin organic vegies and fruits got a blender suks but I got a screen and ima drink only distilled water hope it will cure my rash to sick of being sick and tired

  • that drink gave me a bonner

  • @TheGhghghhjhjhj Kale can actually do that to you.

  • Wow thanks so much for the idea! We have one of those expensive juicers but the kale keeps getting stuck in it. Now we can juice everything else in the juicer and mix it with the blended kale. My husband and I just started the "Fat, sick, and nearly dead" juice diet after watching the documentary. Thanks again!!

  • @housewifeofSC That's a good idea. That's why I tell people no need to argue about what's better between a blender and juicer. Use them both to your advantage. "Fat, sick and nearly dead" is a good documentary. I can't remember the juicer he used, but I imagine since it was for a doc, it probably was an industrial strength. Anyways your welcome!

  • @rashb I'm not sure about the juicer they used either but they are promoting the breville on their website. The interesting thing was how he had the juicer hooked on in his car! Ours takes so much cleaning up between juicing - we were wondering how he managed that in his car? But it really is worth it - love the juice and it really is filling!

  • @housewifeofSC Yeah the juicer being hooked to the car is the most memorable part, and kind of a cool concept but I don't know about the cleaning process either. I would think unless your on road trip you just wait till you get home or if your that serious bring it to work.

  • I loved your video! I made a blog post about it on my website, thewellnessninja. com

  • @thewellnessninja Awesome and thanks for the putting the video on there. I also checked out the Colon Hydrotherapy. Haha interesting stuff. Looks fun and disturbing at the same time.

  • that's it now i am buying clothes with the money i saved for breville, you rock

  • @monoroma1 Heck yeah, get some clothes first, haha. But please do still invest in the more powerful stuff in the future when your abundantly rich. This is just to get you started in the now! Enjoy.

  • Thank you! I was going to buy a juicer, but in my country it's very expensive and your video helps a lot. I am going to use my blender up to now.

  • @Heloisasans That's what it's all about. Any alternative that can get you by until your comfortably ready to invest in a more powerful juicer or blender. This is a way to start instantly. Enjoy!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this idea! I'm so happy that I can start juicing now without spending a lot and buying another machine for my kitchen.

  • Your so damn funny. Love the video.

  • If you have a dehydrader you could spread the pulp out and make crackers..Season to taste!..:)

  • Good video. I bought a juiceman on sale at macys for less than $72. But I tell you, using a blender is probably less time consuming and easier clean up then any juicer out there.

  • @netmoney Definitely easier clean up, but still a few processes to go through. If the juiceman works for you than that's great too. As long as your getting fresh juice that is the most important thing!

  • Check out juicingforum.co.uk to discuss juicing, raw foods and more:).

  • Just got my painstrainer today at HomeyDepoh after watching your vid last night.

$2.98 solved my week long search for a juicer. This idea is the best, period. Clean up takes less then a juicer.

Thanks for the great idea and vid.

  • @KewazingaBabinga Indeed, it's fun to be able to just go and experiment right away. You know you can always still go buy a juicer or more powerful blender if you love it, but for now you can make do with what you have and get started. Enjoy!

  • I use a bit of lime juice, ginger root, and tsp of apple cider vinegar. Gives it a nice bite. The vinegar turns alkaline once it's in the body. Great video !!! Juices have an addictive quality. Love the buzz. And blenders are fine.

  • @qwondoflex Oh yeah I'm a big fan of ginger in my green drinks these days. Haven't tried it with lime and ACV, but will give it a go. Thanks for the idea.

  • awesome video man!

  • Comment removed

  • lol, great video

  • Is there any way to improve the flavour, cos' kale and carrots taste like eating shit?

  • @martynblackburn1977 LOL. Fair enough. I would try green apples, kale and ginger. A real tastey one is spinach, green apple, ginger, parsley and lemon all mixed together. Lime and kale or lime and wheatgrass taste good too. I will tell you the more you start drinking it, the more you'll actually start craving that grassy shitty taste. Haha I know it's believable at the moment.

  • uuuurrrrrr funnnny :) the video was helpful thanx.

  • @Curitiba0507 I get sick about once year if that. It never seems to be all that bad. My goal this year is to not get sick at all. I've changed my diet a bit.

  • @luvintherawlife I feel you on the gadgets. I would probably have a juicer and a vitamix, if I didn't use my money on going out, surfboards or anything else like that. When you watch that lifegenerator guys videos, it makes you want a juicer, haha. So you know my thing is whatever gets you what you need. Thanks for sharing.

  • that is very cool! I have a jack lalane juicer but your clean up is WAAAAAAY easier than mine LOL! Thanks for taking the time to make a video which shows an alternate way to good health!!!

  • thanks :) x

  • You are totally off base!! You dont lose the stems or anything!! You are also losing soooo much juice by not using a juicer!!

  • @surf403 This is meant for people to instantly juice without a juicer, until they decide on whether they want to buy a real juicer or a vitamix. If I had the choice I would buy a vitamix over a juicer. It's powerful enough to handle the stems. That guy blind guru already showed that you get more juice from a 1HP blender than you do from a juicer. I suppose with more water I would put stems in, though it's not necessary, as green juice as it is quite potent as is.

  • you take the stalk out of the kale because it wraps around the blender knives.. with celery, chop in short pieces .. try adding blueberries...

  • you take the stalk out of the kale because it wraps around the blender knives.. with celery, chop in short pieces

  • thanks, had no idea it was so easy. Gonna start juicing this week.

  • So Gehtto!

  • I wouldn't worry about removing it from the stem. And another favorite of mine is Spinach, celery and Kale. But watch out... it's a cleaner!!!

  • Thanks for showing that $400 kitchen equipment is not a prerequisite for health! A lot of the health videographers on youtube are trying to make sales commissions on Vitamix and others. Nothing wrong with that, but I sometimes think it sends the wrong message to those of us in the lower middle class and working poor.

  • @ma1achite Well I appreciate your point and that you get it. As you said nothing wrong with selling the high end blenders, cause it's a good opportunity for people. But it's not the end all be all. You can get started now, with what you already have, till or if your ready to invest in those machines. Your life and health can still be complete with the blender you have. haha.

  • I'm not a huge fan of carrotsor corriander what alternatives do I have ?

  • @jazzy1003 Gulp! Uhhhh, apples? That is the only other thing I can think of, but I've never tried apples with kale. I know with Spinach, lemon, apples, parsley and ginger that is a great drink.

  • @rashb ahahaha okay, that sounds much better thx !!!

  • Good idea! Many thanks.

    packerjack

  • How do I know that the juice has nutrients in it? Most of the stuff that comes out of the nut bag looks like green water.

  • @CBasie2856 The fact that there is green coming out of it means there's at least chlorophyll in it. The darker your water the more nutrients I assume, but don't know for sure. I had a hand crank juicer and making pure green juice with no water (particularly parsley) was too strong and sent me to the bathroom. I've felt some good benefits when I was making certain juice with a blender. This is just an instant way to get started for anybody and experiment with taste and results.

  • I tried this with greens in a blender, but afterwards my green juice ends up being not very dark like his is. It ends up being a very light green.

  • @CBasie2856 With the drink not being as dark as mine, you have to use either less water, for a more pure strain of the juice. If you use lots of water then you have to put a decent amount of vegetables in it.

  • Good raw food video. Healthy stuff. For raw food when you're in Los Angeles, check out SunCafe in Studio City, near Universal Studios.

SunCafe Voted #1 Raw Food in L.A. and #1 Smoothie in L.A. (Kale Shake)

  • @rawfooddiet100 I live in Los Angeles, I will have to try this, a kale shake sounds good.

  • Rock on! Great video! Thanks for sharing that one. And yes! It is the sexiest drink! Absolutely wonderful!

  • @RAWDAGAZ Finally someone else agrees that this drink is sexy! Thank you good sir.

  • Thanks for this... I tried a kale. spinach and honeydew mix the other day which was AWESOME (at a cafe) and have been thinking about trying to replicate it using my (cheap) juicer.

  • lol ooh sure it taste good, ur faces shows how much good it taste lol.... ima try it lol...

  • whats the name of the last song?

  • @Ara604 The music is a small sample from a song called Drink to get drunk by Sia. If you type in different gear vs Sia, it should come up youtube.

  • @Ara604 Thank you very much for posting this video. I've been juicing since last week by way of my blender. I just received my Elite and I gotta tell you, I prefer the blender. I call it my labour of self-love...I enjoy cutting my vegetables and straining the juice with the strainer. I used my juicer this morning and ended up using my blender right after. Perhaps it comes down to style...glad I had the opportunity to see what I was missing and now KNOW that blending is my preferred style.

  • 100% pure Cambodian Breastmilk.

  • LMAO when u sing and dance-love it!

  • @MrsGxoxo Hey when you have juice this good, you'll just start making up your own songs too! :)

  • Thank you so much for making and posting this video!! I have a juicer but I felt I was losing so much juice! I now strain even the pulp of the fruits and veggies I put through the juicer i get as much as I can out of it! Also I think the greens strained seem to have a thicker consistency then juicer juiced ones do! I use cucumber juice from a juicer instead of water it makes it super tummy!!

  • @lanora I never thought about that for maximizes juice from the pulp from juicers. Hopefully people with juicers will catch on to that. Great comment!

  • YES! I've been doing it with a crappy blender for a while!!! Blends everything nicely into a smooth mixture. Only we drank it as a smoothie (without straining, fiber and all) and I really never found a good reason to take the stems out, so stems and all. Kids love it too :)

I have to say though, that not all the crappy blenders can do it. I made a smoothie at my MIL's house and her blender just couldn't blend it - it just chopped it in really small pieces.

  • @babythebabyslings Yes very true on not all crappy blenders do it. Mine just can't blend kale smoothly, but other people tell me theirs can. That's what lead me to straining.

  • You are very funny! Thanks for your video. Such an inexpensive way to stay healthy.

  • Heck yeah, love the video. I'll be at lowes first thing.

  • Can the strainers be reused?

  • @jefter7676 I've used the same strainers for at least 6 - 8 months until I lost them. Uhh just be sure to wash them, haha.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I have been wanting to do a juice fast but really cannot afford a juicer . . . . . but my son bought me a very powerful blender and I just KNEW there had to be a way . . . .Going to HomeDepot tomorrow for the strainers!

  • @gypsylor That's what this is all about. Being able to get juice whether you have a juicer or not. And if your blenders powerful, you can even use less water to get a more pure strain of juice. Just remember to maybe throw in a an ice cube to keep the juice cool when blending.

  • I think you saved me $300, man.

  • Hey, it's okay to eat the veins and stems dude. that is where a lot of the life is in the veggie.

  • LOL @ the end

  • CORRECTION: meant to say, "so many people on youtube think because the're juicin". Peace

  • Awsome! Keep it cool like your already doin'. So many people on you think because the're juicin they can be my Guru. I'm not lookin' for a Guru, just good juice info like yours!!

  • @allfengnoshui True that on the Guru thing sir. I have to remember whenever I do more health videos to try not get preachy and just get the beneficial information out. It's a fine balance I think.

  • Kudos man! Thanks for sharing...I think you just convinced this fat man to start doing this juicing thing again!

  • @ontemaur Awesome. This is what it's all about!

  • You are so funny! I found you while looking for juicing recipes and had to watch. I may just try it after I run to the hardware store. It looked good!....messy, but good...lol

    Loved your vid.

Don't pay any attention to the mouthy people....Granny says you keep on doing what your doing...lol

  • @sagesdragon Thank you Granny for your enthusiastic message. Bye the way it's probably not that messy, I'm just messy! haha

  • I love this video and have watched it several times. Not everyone will be able to get a vitamix and my Jk Lalanne broke, so, thank you so much for the tip!!!! What a beautiful heart that you share this info! Thank You!

  • the stem can make your juice more bitter. thats why many remove it.. but if you add more tropical fruits, no need to separate..good job with making this juice with a blender. Some people dont even try to eat healthier because they are unwilling to be flexible and open to other ideas. you dont have to have a vitamix or blendtec to eat better.

  • @okorolina Very well said on the last two sentences. You definitely get the big picture.

  • OMG thanks for this! I am on my way to the farmers market to get spinach kale and carrots to put in mah blender! and to home depot to get that bag. THANKS <3

  • Awesome! Love your smile.

  • I missed a trip to the flee market so this gives me something to do thanks!! Great money saver!!

  • Thanks for making this video....saved me some money!! (headed to lowes)...

  • haha--- thanks for the idea!

  • thanks

  • what a moron, drink the whole think retard, i put fruits and vegetables and ice in my blender and i drink the whole thing, why remove the fibers that are goood

  • @BallerSkier Before calling me moron, learn how to spell jackass. Reference your comment "drink the whole "think" retard. Now that we've settled that, I'm going to settle this. Try blending Kale. The pulp doesn't blend so well. This is where an expensive blender might do the trick. But that's not what this video is about. It's about doing it with a regular blender. I get enough fiber, I don't like the texture of vegetable fiber unless I'm eating it. I prefer my drinking green juice.

  • @rashb I blend kale everyday and as long as you take the time to let it blend properly its straight. Its all preference I guess, I personally just don't want to loose any nutrients or fiber. I also use a ghetto cheap blender and it works just fine.

  • @mcguck Thanks for letting me know it's actually blendable. I think I've just been impatient. Cause I'm a blend for 30 seconds guy cause I'm always worried about it heating up even with ice. Where my old roommate is a 3 minute blender person. I might just try blending longer for once with Kale. Thanks!

  • @BallerSkier So sad that you have to critize someone giving out good information for no reason other than to help people. Hope your life gets better and no more bitter. Drink some good juice and give your life a better whirl!

  • oh could probably use a new pair of stocking material !!!

  • @misspotential Yeah some people have suggest that. It's another great option.

  • lol you say it's good but you were screwing your face up haha. anyway great video :) !!

  • I didn't know you could make juice like that.

It's much EASIER to use a regular blender rather than a juicer.

And that paint strainer is a great idea! No muss, no fuss.

    THANKS!

  • Sing it cutie. Good idea

  • Breast milk... you made my daaeaay!

  • OMG THE SINGING AT THE END HAD ME WEAK LOL!!

  • @jazzibaefoo Note to self. Sing in next video! haha

  • @rashb Sorry im not very skilled at my english, what kind of net you use for your juices? can you write it? thanks for the video.

  • @nefandix The net is a paint strainer and you buy them at hardware stores. Also you could use cheesecloth, panty hose. You could use also Nut Milk bag if you can find one.

  • @rashb Nope, i live in Mexico, there is not too much information about rawism neither products, but i will search for the paint stainer. Thanks a lot, seeya.

  • Awesome!!!! I combined my left over mush from juicing and put it in my ninja blender and used a rough wash rag and regular H2O from my tap and doubled my juice yield.

  • it makes you feel like you can fly....now fly to that washer and wash that shirt :)
