  • may 8 people have hemorrhoids the size of grapefruits.

  • @jr55ful xaxaxa 8 weirdo's ! Amen!

  • can you all shut up .....and just enjoy this masterpiece.....

  • EXCELLENT!!!!!

  • So heavy...

  • Love this song!

  • CLASS!!!!!!!!!

  • excellent

  • MY FAVORITE OR CLOSE ON DISINTEGRATION AND THIS VERSION IS FLAWLESS !!!!

  • I have fallen in love with that backbone guitar riff, we are eloping tonight!

  • im a cure fan but sometime a bit embarrassed to admit it as so many dumb comments about them and the drummer being crap!

  • The best band of the world!!!!!!!!!!

  • play this at full volume and the bass turned to the max...

    awesome

  • Seeing The Cure live is one of the few things on my "bucket list"

  • I always say this, i'm gonna say it again.. THE CURE DOES NOT CURE !!

  • @vittera it's palliative care

  • rapido int....rain too you.

  • i'm made myself so sick

  • How does Robert still hold such awesome long notes/? Though he held prayers for rain yell best in Berlin live!!!! I share it w/ all my peeps! Long live The Cure. Plz tour U.S again, I have a blast every time they come!!! Even catching them in diverse Cities, yeah they're THAT GOOD!!!!!

  • Right on Fellow Cure lovers, it's good to see so many tubers recognizing true genius, a masterpiece indeed. These sounds will live in me for ages!!!

  • Супер!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 7 people that still can't get over Jason's drumming

  • @mrpicky510

You gotta admit, his drumming is pretty weak...as in...it actually sounds really weak!

Many cure songs require a powerful, striking drum, this song is no exception.

I wish cure fans would stop making excuses for bad musicianship. I personally wouldn't even want to go see any of their live shows today. Robert needs to clean himself up and get in shape, because his current state is obviously affecting his ability to perform and make judgements about his band.

  • @HuckMeHard hahaha, bad musicianship? Have you heard the early stuff? They actually had to teach Lol how to play drums so don't start with Coopers playing ability. The bottom line is no one will ever be what Boris was. Not only was he a fucking machine on drums but his playing style really helped create a lot of the "cure" sound of modern times. I've seen them live 3 times but not for about 10 years or so, honestly I woulnd't want to hear anything off the last 2 albums live.

  • WHO DISLIKED THIS!?

  • This song is fucking immense.

  • @eponychium the whole album is, it took me years to fully absorb it when I bought it at 14, god bless hidef recordings too

  • Robert Smith...thank you, CrowDead182

  • Pourquoi j'ai raté ce concert!

  • I fucking have fucking goosefuckingbumps when I fucking hear this dam fucking awesome fucking song !

  • charlie sheen sure plays a mean bass.

  • simon se estaria cagando encima que tocaba agachado ??? jajaja :D

  • one of the most hypnotic songs i've ever heard. and i'm 56.

  • without break,,16th time playing.

Theirs something special dark, powerfull and unique vibe..cant be described in mere words..Just felt, Cure fan from japan.

  • They sound different live, even then, they sound different in every performance. But they never sound bad, if anything, they always sound better. It's truly fantastic how they can do that.

  • The cure is the best band ever, look freaky, but great music

  • At night, I used to turn off all the lights in my house and play this song really loud. I miss those days.

  • This is one of my very favorite song's from THE CURE it's so unreal music can be this good it can haunt your mind all day after you hear it.I know everyone loves this album and yeah it is a very exceptionally beautiful one however ,not my very fav but, I do soo still love it!!!!

  • This song is just so perfect!! The music, the lyrics, the haunting and mesmerizing feel that it gives you is just pure perfection! Love this song! Love this band!! Love Robert!! The Cure forever!! ♥

  • This song is so exceptionally beautiful!! I do so love the dark and haunting feeling it puts through your soul!! Disintegration is one true masterpiece of an album! There is no one like The Cure, no one!! And that is the way I love it to be!! :D I do so love The Cure!! <3

  • The Cure is the best band of all time. Ive Listened to this version of the song at least 1000 times and I still love it.

  • что ни вещь то шедевр!!! и эта особенная четкая психоделика +40*

  • Usually live versions have terrible quality - this one is immaculate. Love it !

  • pure perfection !

  • @kangurome absolute perfection, mastered the sound of their Creation Live !!!!

  • I think the sound in Paris 2008 is better than here!!

  • Magnificent !! Without words..

  • whenever i watch a cure-live-video the quality of sound and picture is nearly perfect! unbelievable! and the music is perfect! :)

  • piekne

  • UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE

  • @croydonsbest: When you eat a fly, you have more brain in your stomach as in your head!! hahaha

  • das ist musik hörn ... fertig mit meiner weit

  • just 3 words ONLY THE CURE

  • Years ago, if I was asked "which song would you like to have under your belt as a writer" "Stairway to Heaven" would come to mind. Years went by and one day, I bought "Disintegration". Everything changed from there. I've been listening to music for more than 40 years and must admit, there is no other song that captures my heart like "Prayers for rain. It possesses that magical vibe which seems impossible to duplicate.

Any of you think the Cure still have their best material ahead of them?

  • Who is the keyboarder??

  • @gilmour1968 he's the brother of the snowboarder lol

  • @gilmour1968 Roger O'Donnell

  • @gilmour1968 Roger O'Donnell

  • This song makes me wet, what can I say? Meeooww!!!!!!

  • @meshell1066 i thought pussycats didnt like being wet.....lol

  • @croydonsbest Well, you have obviously never seen a beautiful tiger take a swim, they love the water, as I love Robert and The Cure!!!! Meeooww!!!!.....LOL!!!!

  • 4.27.... The voice is not the Entreat 89' voice !

  • Getting back into The Cure after my late 80's listening. They're really good, maybe ahead of their time. Robert Smith got my respect then, and now - great artist.

  • Amazing what emotional response I always get from the tunes of this song and the desperate voices from Robert. Masterpiece !! It leads me to pictures from people who always keep on trying to get a fish in a tree and then complain about the unwilling fishes, its a tragedy !

  • Amazing!!! Love the Cure´s atmosphere and Robert´s voice is unique and so deep...

  • The sound of the Cure is healing and hurting; it takes me away and it bringes me back, it makes me sad and bright, longing for those times which will never come back.

  • This has got to be one of the cure's sexiest songs ever.

  • Does ANYONE know the bass tab? i wanna cover it but fuck theres no covers, no tabs, nothing.

  • So your saying you can read bass tabs- if you have them, yet you can't pick this up by ear? I'm the complete opposite. I can ear and play just about any bass line out there( minus maybe most death metal stuff ), but good look luck if i could ever tab any if it hahaha!

  • @VirtageBass its really simple and sound as good on guitar as well as bass.......

    open 2nd string, (2nd thickest) 3rd string 2nd fret, 2 x open 2nd string, 3rd string 2nd fret, open 2nd string, 2 x 2nd string 3rd fret, open 3rd string, open 4th string, open 3rd string.

Thats the basics but the more you play it, the more notes you can throw in. Try alternating the 2nd to last note on the 4th string to 2nd fret instead of open.

Wish I could explain easier but hope it works and you enjoy. Cure x

  • Nothing I have ever heard can approach the Cure,If God listened to music,Id bet he would have this CD in his private collection,I dont think the world knows just how one in a trillion this band really is,This is really a one of a kind band, that can never ever be bested through out all eternity.Nothing else even comes close to coming close.

  • This drummer sucks!

    The worst in Cure history!

    BORIS WILLIAMS is the best!!!!

  • one of the best bands of all time.....in any genre of music...period. the cure simply cannot be fucked with

  • simon gallup. charlie sheen's twin separated at birth.

  • "MATANDO TIEMPO DE NUEVO.. TODAS ELLAS ESPERANDO POR LLUVIA"

    xD

EL MEJOR TIEMPO DE THE CURE*

SIN ROGER Y SIN PERRY NO SERA NUNCA IGUAL ¬¬

  • The best cure track ever? I think so. It captures the best element from the cures many sides from melody to ambiance. Hauting strings and synth. The tracks stays with you after it ends.

  • @Mamakrush i have been humming this song on a nearly constant basis since i first saw this video about a week ago. one of the most emotional pieces of music i have ever heard even without the lyrics. add those and you have a song that haunts you. you nailed it.

  • @Mamakrush Your so right,no other band has the haunted overtones and melodys, like the Cure,Ive never experienced any other songs from any other band that can quite measure up to this one of a kind sound,The Cures the best Ive ever seen.

  • Comment removed

  • I must say this live version is better than the studio one, personally, the intro is brilliant, more subtle than the studio one, which I personally enjoy more

  • I wish he was my uncle (he's to cool to be a dad)

  • I dont believe people realize just how good this band is,theres nothing that compares to this music, nothing,it really is the CURE,just listen. What a masterpiece!!!

  • @NAMTRIP the cure are a musical genre all to themselves.

  • Geniální..

  • This is one of my absolute favorite songs from The Cure. This song is so full of emotion and so touching. It just pulls at your heartstrings on every level. It is such a gorgeous and beautiful melody mixed so well with the ever so unique voice that Robert has. The Cure is a band who has truly stood the test of time.Such an amazing and awesome band! Rock on forever Cure!!

  • @darkforest121 the synthesiser on this so just throws out a wall of emotion.

  • @jr55ful You are so right! Man, it just pulls your heart right out of your chest. You hit the nail on the head with your comment my friend!! :))

  • Very very decent live version!!

One of the best songs on the best album of all time "Disintegration"

  • just brilliant!!!!

  • I totally love this song from The Cure! It just digs right into your soul. This song has such a dark and haunting sound to it. I just love it. I love the way it feels inside my heart. Such meaning and passion in this song! Another masterpiece from the poetic genius of Robert!! No other group can touch the Cure. They are a band all their own!! Beautiful indeed.I have loved the Cure and Robert for 24 years now and i know it will never change!! The Cure Forever!! <3

  • @juniebird72 amen!

  • @juniebird72 Yeah I do agree. He seems to know our souls

  • I´m still breathless when listening this number.

  • Fuck me this man is a GOD with the 6 string !

  • stupenda.

  • hello mi name is javier ,i`m 38 years old ,i`ve been fan from the cure since i know it in 1980 ,i think that they can`t change the style of sounds they touch because isn`t be the cure ,they must to contnious playing as ever done .this is a real instropective ,i grew listen their songs ,and now in this time make very happy when i see the band ...

  • the cure = my fav. band ever. this guys are genious. that's real music.

  • Disintegration the best post-punk album ever

  • I used to think the Cure was gay, but actually it was me that was gay. bahahaha i love this song.

  • Comment removed

  • You're welcome.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lucifer986

You misinterpreted his statement and jumped to wrongful conclusions. In today's generation, the word gay has become the new slang word for "stupid" and "corny." In all likelihood, that is what he was referring to. He even admitted it himself -- he was the one that was gay (stupid and corny) to make such premature conclusions about the band without hearing more of their music. See? End of story.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lucifer986

Well he probably won't even see our comments anyway, so I doubt he'll respond. But it's so easy to see that is what he meant. The gay slang is way too popular today -- whether we like it or not. It's just as popular as saying "cool." And besides, if he did mean it the proper way his comment wouldn't make any sense. So yeah, gay slang is what he meant. Anyways, let's concentrate on the music and Prayers for Rain!

  • @entropyness ya, i hate it when that happens :)

  • @entropyness so did i until i saw them live about 3 years ago.

Now i cant get enough of them.

They are talented and play and sing with passion.

  • @entropyness you are so funny!!!

  • @entropyness rofl

  • @entropyness hahaha they're not gays Robert's got a strange style that's all. His sexual identity is normal when you read his lyrics you can find out.

  • Robert = music genius! still think they are the best band ever!!

  • This is a standard higher than Mozart.

One of the best bands EVER!!

  • I'm 56 and I hope they don't.

  • what they need is to get Boris back on the drums or Robert should really look for a real good drummer. Jason just doesn't feel right and his creativity is NULL!

  • @darioism76

Think they should quit because you didn't like one CD? Most bands have one CD that isn't as good as others. Doesn't mean that every other CD they create will have that same effect. Just depends on the listener, really.

Anyway, this is a nice song.

    :)

  • I didnt think "Underneath the stars" was very similar to "plainsong". I can agree that the rest of the album was mediocre, but if they'd quit, there'd never be another Cure show, and to a 16 year old fan like myself, it would be a fate worse than death!

  • Don't worry I thought the same when I was 14 and then when I was 16, in 1996, they came out with Wild Mood Swings... And we heard the same things in the IRC chat rooms. I thought after Wish, they would never make another album, now I will be 30 in Feb. They will be around forever like the Rolling Stones. I waited and now Porl is back, well worth it. And even if they don't make another one, they will make live albums and do tours. so don't despair!

  • It`s good to know that most people agree with what I`ve always thought- Boris Williams was the best drummer for The Cure; Jason Cooper is the worst. His bad choice of the drum-kit, and he is not musical or creative as Boris was. Or maybe he belongs in a different genre. I don`t know what it is, but his drumming style annoys me, and it`s just this gut instinct that I`ve got. I still don`t know what makes some drummer great and others shitty. it just sounds off when Jason plays.

  • True,Boris was great, jason is just filling in,but the genius Robert Smith,is so good that he carries the band, and they still sound good, theyre the best Ive ever seen.I fully agree with you darioism76

  • Pamplinas.

  • watch him playing "To Wish impossible things" live in the Show VHS video and you will notice a little of what makes to be a good drummer. Boris is playing ALL the percussion sounds and doesnt' need the help of backing tapes that plays things for him.

  • I thought I was totally naive about what makes a good drummer, but it was after listening to Boris Williams play, that made me want to take up drums. It was discovering The Cure that made me want to learn the guitar, piano, bass and drums. I worshiped Porl Thompson, cuz he`s a multi-instrumentalist and also an artist. I wanted to be Porl when I grew up; but wanted to be Robert Smith when I was a teen

  • Why are you all whinging about the new band members? ROBERT SMITH IS THE CURE! he is the only one keeping them going - football teams lose their best players all the time and have to cope with it and bring in people who they hope are up to the job - stop whinging and support the guy who has stuck with the band through around 30 years who should be applauded for keping the band alive!!! Bloody whingers get a life!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hear all this criticism of Jason, but all this time I never agreed with it. In this song, he does kind of ruin the mood with those random cymbals. But for the most part, I think he's alright.

  • Geez, stop being so critical and just enjoy the song .

  • yes what a kind of crap here. As if it mathers wich drummer there is. The songs the style of the cure is brilliant . Go to school or to work a do som usefuls instead of bla bla bla bla. :)

  • jason really really fucks up the mood on this one. that large build up on the drums really is supposed to make this song so KABOOM.

  • yep! jason is spoiling every fuc*king Cure classic!

his sound is so bad, his style is bad bad bad! just watch and hear how he plays the hi-hats, always half-open and trashy... sucks!

jason IS NOT a good drummer.

jason IS spoiling all Cure good songs

jason IS ruining all the good drum patterns created by Boris

    jason lacks creativity

    jason lacks musicianship

    jason lacks good sound

and the list goes on and on...

  • the kiss me lp was great but yes dark and deep is better , any one whent to the nec birmingham the 2 dates Disintegration rob danced with me on the right of the stage

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh play loudly on cold dark stormy nights .... DID I SAY LOUDLY ... YES !!!!!!

  • When they released Kiss me....I was not amused, but Disintegration restored some hope in their direction. I clearly enjoy the darker Cure offerings. Wonderful live band.

  • You are missing out on Kiss Me, about half the songs on there are as good as anything they did at any time...as dark as Pronography...

  • One of the best song!!!

  • Bellissima e tenebrosa canzone...

  • o yeaaaaa wonderful song, i could live pacefull when i heard this song in concert

  • This song is pure divinity..there arent any words to explain it...sometimes people reach perfection..only a few times...this is one of that times...!!

  • the sound quality is great this is by far the best version ive ever heard live ......

  • Tihis is by far the best version of this sing live

  • I lost my CD with this song on it somewhere along the line, I think one of my ex-girlfriends stole it. Anyhow, the only way to get a replacement CD, is by special order. I used to JAM THIS SONG at like 800watts thru my quadraphonic audiophile system with sonic holography[Carver]. The neighors, be damned...

  • holy f++++++ s*** it was TWENTY YEARS AGO that I first heard this song and bought the album and was mesmerized then (and still am). 20 YEARS!

  • OMG i had to look it up it was 20 years HOLY F*$%^#&# S*&t.I feel so aged.this is still one of the most incredible albums WOW....im in shock

  • great footage...crystal clear

  • Wow,it's Charlie Sheen playin bass. LOL!

  • Yeah,he does,atleast in this video.HA!

  • he actually does here

  • no Simon is hot...Charlie is ugly

  • he looks like Dr who!!!

  • Yeah he is xDD great xD

  • hahah i love comments like this!

    lol

  • The Cure is one of my biggest favourite bands!!! Love them and Robert´s voice over all everything else! Please, please, please Robert - another tour. Haven´t seen you around here for a very long time, so please come to Scandinavia as soon as possible!

  • calm down. You should have seen them 10 years ago, little one.

  • Oh yes, Pornography it was only a duran duran's cover LOL.

Go back to read the latest of harry potter.

  • one of the best bands ever, at least in my opinion

  • last time they performed live here in Athens, was in Spetember of 2005...they were amazing!! i ve been to many concertes, but this one, was far far faraway, the best i ve ever been..and they played 3,5 hours live, with 6 encores....amazing band...

  • The Cure is the best, thank's for this video, it's one of my fav's songs. I just love their music and Robert's voice.

  • a great live version for one of my fav.'s song ever...

  • Even though I don't like The Cure very much, I have to admit that this song is awesome..!

  • same here.
