  • My 2 box ride and hi hat don't play as smooth as yours. Do you have any settings tips or would you be willing to send me your .dkit file? photobeat@aol.com great playing

  • @wedshooter1234 Have you downloaded and installed the latest updates for the 2Box module? I have made no changes to the default settings....mainly due to lack of spare time.

  • Hello.

what are you using for making a video with your 2box drumit 5?

I want to record some video's, how you have done this what cables are you using?

    greetings,

    Roel.

  • @roelie2104 Hello, I recorded directly into the Zoom Q3HD. I used quarter inch mono cables out of outputs 1 and 2 of the module, then went into a Y-Jack to the Q3HD.

    Cheers.

  • Hi. I have a TD12/TD20 hybrid (hi hat VH12 plus bigger pads). Do you think it would be possible to use Drumit 5's module with Roland's hardware?

  • @fabiopbb I'm pretty sure that everything would work except for the hi-hat. Do a search for 2Box Forum where you can probably find information on other's experience with those pads. It is possible to buy the hi-hat cymbal and metal hi-hat trigger assembly seperately. You only need a regular hi-hat stand to use it.

  • 1rcpro, have you tried to download the sound samples from 2Box homepage??

  • @sonorzepp Yes, I did download some of those sounds and loaded them into the module. The process was easy. Personally I really wasn't blown away by those sounds. I prefer the ones that came with the module.

  • is there a sensitivity button on the module

  • @iraniandrummer97 There are parameters to adjust the sensitivity of the pads/triggers.

  • Would you say the feel of these kits are better than the Rolands?

  • @FatefulEngage IMHO I would say yes after owning/using a Roland mesh pad kit previous to this one. The 2Box heads seem to have a bit more give to them.

  • @1rcproductions Ah, As I currently own a Yamaha DTXpress and I just don't get along with it haha. I used to own a Roland TD 8. And it was better than the Yamaha, but still not great. I've heard so many good things about the 2box kits, Do you reckon it would take a double pedal? As I normally practise double bass at like 200-220bpm

  • @FatefulEngage Here is a guy using double pedals at about 3:32 in this video: youtube.com/watch?v=iG9ih5qKhTE My bass drum pad vibrates quite a bit when I play so I'm not sure how that would work out with very fast double bass playing, but there doesn't seem to be any problems heard in the video I mentioned.

  • is the drum double bass compatible

  • @MultiDanial1234 I do not think it would be a problem to use a double bass pedal with the bass drum pad, although I haven't tried it myself. I have read on the 2Box forum that people are using double pedals without a problem. (You can do a search for 2Box Forum and a link to this Unofficial site will come up.)

  • @MultiDanial1234 most people who've tried say it is with minor adjustments (reinforcing mesh so the beater doesn't wreck it etc.)

  • Nice demo and solid drumming. Nice kit, Nice sounds, seems to respond accurately also to soft playing, Are this built in sounds? They sound better than Roland TD20. They as good as sampled drums like EZ-drummer. Can you load such sounds in the module and ..is that easy or do you have to be an expert. How is the USB function? In and out for all kind of purposes: loading sounds but also for recording? Seems you have an extra tom.

  • @slagwerk58 The sounds you hear are built in, and I would say are as good as EZ-Drummer sounds. You can load sounds, but not directly from EZ-Drummer. Likely have to change them to wave files and import using the required software. (Haven't done this yet.) The USB works great for loading and saving sounds. Don't think you can use the USB for midi/audio recording. I have used the midi ports and then recorded audio into my sound card using 1/4" cables. The Roland pad works nicely with the kit.

  • I'll be able to pick up my 2box kit a week tomorrow :) I'll be watching this vid at least once a day to keep me going till then.

  • @outdoorpooltable Cool. Maybe you can post a note after you have had a chance to work with the kit.

  • @1rcproductions Will do. From what I've seen so far (and a brief play on a demo model) this is the best sounding e-kit out there.

  • Can you play rimshots and cross stick on the snare pad as in Roland and Yamaha top of the line kits,

  • @poxcr I would say no you cannot. You can assign a cross stick sound to the rim of the snare but I realize this is not the same as how the Rolands work. You could also ask this question on the unofficial 2Box forum. (just do a search to find it) One possibility would be to assign the cross stick sound to tom 1 and then use that for songs requiring this sound.

  • @1rcproductions Oh, that's terrible news. I had almost made up my mind about getting one of these. No support for cross stick dumps the overall "just like acoustic drums" feel down the drain.

  • @poxcr Did you check around on the 2Box forum for additional info? Perhaps someone there might have a better suggestion with regards to your question.

  • @1rcproductions I did try to find some info in the forum. The topic has been discussed before. It appears people don't care much about that feature. More me it is major flaw not being able to play cross stick patterns. Putting a cross stick sample on a separate pad just doesn't fill natural. Regarding this kit, it would require a snare pad redesign plus the module firmware to support it. I don't think it will be happening any time soon.

  • @1rcproductions This is what I am talking about. Even though the 2Box sounds are waaaaaay better, I would miss this playability. /watch?v=DN5xW56-z6o

  • Cool, I have a roll and kit now but I'm seriously considering one of this yeah. I'm tired of the same rool and sounds for the last 5 years....

  • Great demo man! did you own the first model as well or this is the first one? If you did, what are the most noticeable differences for you?

  • @autowalter Thanks! I did not own the first model. From what I have read the rack stand is much better on the MKII kit. Plus they added a couple of additional rim O-rings to each drum pad and the bass drum pad has been adapted. (Seems that I received an MKI bass drum pad, but it works well.)

  • does 2box drumit five MkII module have it's own sounds or do you have to get every sound from computer??

  • @KillerDrums777 The 2Box Drumit Five MKII module comes with its own sounds. The sounds I play in the video are some of the sounds that come on the module.

  • Can anybody tell me if this kit can be set up left handed?

  • @gj88drumstik Can't see that being a problem. Move the hi-hat and snare to the right and change the toms and cymbals around. The module can be placed on either side of the stand.

  • @1rcproductions thats for your help much appreciated, didn't want to get home with one and find out i was screwed!

  • I'm receiving my kit on monday. Just can't wait to get my hands on these :)

  • @sonorzepp Good for you. I am sure you will enjoy them.

    Cheers!!!!

  • Ok, thanks. Excellent sounding kit by the way. To me, better than Roland.

  • Is it possible to add a fourth cymbal if you use three toms instead of four? Only drum sounds coming from the fourth tom outpout ??

  • @sonorzepp You can have any sound selected for any output. I would say you could use a cymbal in a tom input by changing the trigger settings. Not sure if you would get all three zones of the cymbal since I haven't tried it myself. You could check for the answer or ask the question at the 2 box forum.

  • Super demo!!

do you know if Roland CY-12 cymbal pads are compatible withe the 2Box brain/module?..

  • This is the one! I am now convinced after googling/youtubing it for months. Thanks for the post!

  • are you ableto hook up more cymbals to it? also how much did this cost you canadian? i've been looking for dealers in ontario for awhile now and havent been to find anyone. i was just looking for some more advice and insight on these kits, do they seem to be the best bang for your buck? i know sound wise they kick roland and yamaha's ass. just looking for what you think about it, are you able to incorporate a double kick pedal with it? i guess my main concern is being only limited to 2 cymbals.

  • @AdamSiren You can have a total of 3 cymbals (4 if you count the hi-hats.) So could have hats, 2 crashes and ride. Can have 4 toms. Many are using a double kick pedal. Check out 2box forum (unofficial) for more info. Call Canadian Distributor Efkay (514 633 8877) to find out where to purchase. It's a great kit, not perfect, but is very enjoyable to play.

  • Nice video. Sounds very nice, and it's pretty much the best demonstration of the 2Box out there. I'm seriously leaning towards buying this kit. As an owner yourself, you're probably biased towards it, but do you have any arguments against this kit? Is there any reason I should pick another kit over this, in the same price range that is. I don't care about the bd pedal or hihat pedal btw, they're supposed to be bad, and I'm a seasoned vet so I already have my preference in that stuff already.

  • @ronnysoeberg I do not think there is any other e-kit out there in the price range that can compete with the sound of this kit. Downsides: gradual opening from closed to open hi-hat sound not as smooth as I would like. Cymbal pads can be a tad quirky at times. I have not adjusted any of the module parameters thus far which may help with this. (except for calibrating the hi-hat) I would not hesitate to buy this kit again since it sounds great, and it is fun to play.

    I hope that helps.

    Cheers!

  • @1rcproductions Thanks for the quick reply :) I think it's going to have to be this kit. Even if the hihat open close thing is dodgy, there's hope for an update that addresses that in the future, I suppose. Again, thanks :)

  • @1rcproductions Just an update regarding my comment on the function of the hi-hat. I have spent a bit more time calibrating the hi-hat and have ended up with a much better result. When calibrating first loosen the hi-hat clutch and then set the closed setting within the hi-hat calibration mode. Next press down on the hi-hat stand pedal and then tighten the hi-hat clutch at the desired height (higher than for acoustic cymbals in my experience) and then set the open setting in calibration mode.

  • @1rcproductions There is no kit out ther in ANY price range - period. I bought mine after seeing your demo!

    Thanks man

  • @nengstro No problem. Yeah, you are right. No other e-kit out there sounds as good as this kit. (IMHO) :-)

    Cheers!
