@jgmtiger Dog probably felt that the animal running at him was menacing, and I guess he may have had a point. He had told them to get the pittbull back, they didn't, and he maced it. No dog, pittbull or otherwise, should be running the street charging at people anyway, should it? It's better safe than sorry. And if pitts have a bad name, it may have more to do with all the maulings they've racked up over the years than it does bad press in the media. JMO
