Just that an exclusive voew of john as the only place to understand salvation is erroneous and dare I say-heresy? When Galations, Ephesians, Mark, Romans, Acts, Matthyew, Luke, and any number of books in the New Testament do not teach salvation properly is heresy. Of course the incredible hermeneutics to come to a certain understanding who lifts one mook or passage against all others reminds me of people who teach you can lose salvation because of Hebrews 3, 6, and 10 while ignoring Romans 8
@BelieveandtrustJesus : Right, but the point I was making is that there are lots of people out there who do not see themselves as sinners before a Holy God and try to justify their sins and say its okay and call God a liar.

@BelieveandtrustJesus : I never said you have to stop sinning to be saved. I don't believe in Lordship Salvation. I do believe though that you MUST have a change of mind about your SIN and about Christ, not just one without the other. Changing from unbelief to belief is part of it, but that's not all. You also have to see yourself as a lost and guilty Hell-deserving sinner before God because of your sin.
@BelieveandtrustJesus I beg to differ. I've talked to many people who do not think what they are doing is wrong. Examples: Sodomites, drunkards, fornicators, etc. I firmly believe, preach and teach that they must see their sin for what it is before they can trust Christ to save them. The sinner MUST agree with God about their sin and agree that it is wrong! Amos 3:3! If we don't see our sin for what it is, we are not believing the Word of God anyway and are still in unbelief.
@BelieveandtrustJesus It says that godly sorrow WORETH repentance to salvation. Being sorry for your sins doesn't save you, it just brings you to the point where you realize what you have done and want a Saviour. Faith in Jesus ALONE saves you, nothing more and nothing less. Grace through faith(Ephesians 2:8-9).
Please stop grabbing a random verse from the bible and twisting it to fit your theology...gotta read the context of it first then study it...Luke 13:3 was speaking about Jesus telling the Jews to change their mind/attitude towards Jesus' kingdom and messiahship...since they rejected it before he was telling them unless they accept and believe Jesus is who he says he is they will perish...wasnt speaking of sins at all just unbelief to belief
There's a difference between repenting OF your sin and repenting FROM your sin. We don't have to repent from our sins to get saved, as in, literally turn from them or forsake them, etc. but we do have to have a change of mind about our sin and about God. This is what repenting of your sin means. Mr.Anderson is wrong to call everybody who says "repent of your sins" in salvation a heretic. I know many men of God who use this phrase that don't believe you have to give your sins up to get saved.
8He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. 9No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his broth
Repent means to turn away from. These guys amaze me, what a load of garbage they spew. I can't believe they actually teach this crap, 1 2 3 repeat after me and then there ya go mate, back to the bars and the whores with ya YOUR SAVED LOL! sick sick sick, you people are doing the devils work.
Repent means to have a change of mind. You guys amaze me. What a load of garbage you spew. I can't believe you actually teach that garbage. 1 2 3 repent after me and there you go mate, your own works are so righteous before God that you can be your own saviour and earn your own salvation. LOL. Sick sick sick. You people are doing the devil's work.
I don't believe in Lordship Salvation, but I also disagree with what Anderson preaches as well. I believe repentance will RESULT in a changed life after salvation occurs. You don't have to give up your sin or be willing to give certain sins up to get saved or anything like that, but you do have to have a genuine change of mind about your sin and about God and this will cause you to want to turn from your sins AFTER you are saved.
no, if you go and sin to the max God will punish you and discipline you very harshely, even give you up to satan to be killed...so plz stop ur poor uneducated argument go learn something first before you make stupid comments
6If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth
4The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone obeys his word, God's love[b] is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
Not everybody who preaches repentance believes in Lordship Salvation. I'm a repentance preacher and I reject Lordship Salvation(i.e. that one must make Jesus Lord over every part of his life to be saved).
Jesus said Repent or Perish. Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized. The bible says that the Goodness of God leadeth men to repentance. Jesus said Repent and believe the gospel.
Absolutely. One must repent of his unbelief or repent of his belief in false gods (such as Allah or Mary) to be saved. One doesn't repent of his sins to be saved, though, that would be works. One is saved when they simply believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
After getting saved though, one should repent of their sin or God is going to cloud up and rain earthly judgment on his life.
Acts 17:30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,
Acts 17:31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead."
None of those verses say "Repent of your sins". I'm not sure what the point is you're trying to make. Where does the Bible say you have to repent of your sin to be saved?
faith isnt a work...its how you receive salvation...your argument is like you sayin you gave me a bday present and me reachin out and acceptin that gift is works...ridiculous..its same with salvation believe to receive gift of salvation
Anderson is preaching against that...please get educated before you make comments...he preaches against repent = stop sinning, he says its change of mind
If Anderson knows what repenting is, then why does he say we don't need to repent to be saved? Yes we do. Repent..change of mind, be sorry for our sins...that's what LEADS us to wanting to call on the name of Christ. Being sorry for the way we've lived our lives, sorry for our sins.
he never said you dont need to repent to be saved, can you see the title of the video? he says you dont need to repent of ur SINS to be saved, not repent in general...
Some good advice for us all ..Proverbs 15:1. I had to learn that fast, while running debate rooms with Calvinists.
Yes you do have to repent of your sins to be saved.
All that means.....is be sorry that you've sinned against God. Doesn't mean we'll be sinless. It means we want Jesus to forgive us, to save us, and wash us clean. Then after salvation the Holy Spirit begins to change us from within.
sadly thats not what 99.9% of people define repent of sins as...they define it as turning from sin, giving up sin, stopping doin those sins, e.g. thats what the way of the master defines it as
well it has more then 1 meaning i believe...based on context...e.g. when Jesus says repent and believe the gospel, I doubt he was saying be sorrowful...since that wouldnt make sense in that context, he was telling the Jews to accept/believe him as messiah which they rejected
Repenting of our sins is just saying...I'm sorry for my sins Lord. A turning away. Please forgive me, wash me, and save me. Repenting is mainly in our minds. It's a decision to change our way of life, and get right with Christ.
Repent and believe the gospel...change your minds and come to Christ. That's what I think it means.
I believe we are sorry for our sins when we come to Christ, asking him to forgive us and save us. Then after salvation by the power of the Holy Spirit, he helps us to change our lives, and turn from our sins. This is a lifelong process too. Our flesh and spirit is in conflict with each other.
Only if they want their bodies turned over to Satan...for destruction, like the man in 1Cor. 5.
Christians aren't sinless. Nowhere does the Bible say that a Christian in this life will ever be completely perfect—that is, free from all sin (1 John 1:8).
The man in 1Cor. 5 had no plans on stopping from sleeping with his step-mother. That's why God intervened. I believe the man was in spiritual chains, in bondage, so God stepped in.
Christians can commit sins. King David murdered & committed adultery, yet the Bible says David was a man, after God's own heart. David sinned, but he always repented.
Yes you do have to repent to be saved. If you're not repentful, then what would cause us to even want to be saved? It's being REPENTFUL that causes a person to approach the cross asking Jesus to save us.
Repenting doesn't mean one has to stop sinning in order to be saved. AFTER salvation, then the Holy Spirit begins to work a new work in us, changing us from within.
1.Repenting
2.Salvation
3.Bornagain =regeneration: being changed from within by the power of the Holy Spirit.
None of the salvation prayers in the Bible involved a promise to "live for you all the days of my life". That's definitely a work, are you saying that's necessary for salvation?
The Bible just says you need to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved (Acts 16:31). Why add on to such a beautiful and simple promise?
Did you watch the video? Luke 13:3 is about people being physically killed. There's nothing about salvation in that verse.
No, I can't promise God I'll live for Him all the days of my life. Some of the greatest Christians in the Bible, heroes of the faith, became incredibly backslidden, some even until their death. I don't have enough pride to think I'm better than they.
You're confusing the issue. We're only talking about salvation. Do you believe one has to repent of their sins to be saved, or do you believe what the Bible says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus and thou shalt be saved"?
When a person believes on the Lord Jesus Christ to save them, they are repenting of their sin i.e. having a changed additude towards their sin and toward God. It doesn't mean they have to literally turn from sin to get saved, it just means they see their sin-nature for what it is and look at themselves the way God sees them and they realize God is Holy and they are sinful and need to be saved or they will go to Hell Fire.
"And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm"
Did the disciples really think they were going to go to hell? Of coruse not. Perish simply means to die. Luke 13 is talking about physical death, not about being saved or not.
Do you believe a person can get saved without repenting? BTW, I don't believe in Lordship Salvation or that you have to give up your sins to be saved, but I don't believe what Anderson preaches either. He blacklists anyone who even dare uses the phrase "repent of your sins" or "turn from sin" in salvation. John R.Rice used the phrase "turn from your sins" when defining repentance in his tract "What Must I Do to Be Saved?" but he didn't believe in works salvation.
So many pride filled people...they just refuse to accept they have nothing to do with salvation and its all God...theyd rather die then give up their pride it seems.
The Bible is clear ...we must be sorry for our sins when we ask the Lord to save us. That's all repenting means. A change of mind. Saying Lord please forgive me and wash all my sins away. Then the Holy Spirit begins to change us from within the rest of our lives = born again.
and where in the bible does it say you have to be sorry for your sins to be saved? acts 16:30-31 doesnt say be sorry for ur sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, just says believe
To be sorry for our sins is called repentance. Repent only means to have a change of mind. If we're not repentful, sorry for our sins, then we won't have any desire to be saved. Will we?
I was sorry for my sins...repentful... when I called on the name of Jesus.
Repentance is the opposite of pride. If a person truly repents, they are not proud for anything they have done, but give all credit and glory to God for saving them.
Repent isn't a work.....repent simply means to change your mind. Asking the Lord to forgive you and wash all your sins away. That is exactly what the Bible says to do.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
The thief of the cross wasn't water baptized, yet Christ saved him. Just asking to be saved is being sorry for our sins. Repenting is just a change of mind. It's all done in a few seconds of our thoughts... Lord forgive me, and wash my sins all away. That's what I believe.
So all the times in the Bible God repents, was He turning from sin? That's ludicrous.
James isn't even in the context of salvation, it talks about being justified before men, not God. Demons believe that there is one God. There's a difference between believing there is one God and believing that Jesus Christ has given you eternal life, the latter which is required for salvation.
Proverbs1v > I'm no hebrew scholar but you simply display stupidity.
the word 'repent' (nacham hebrew) "to sigh' .God was grieved that He made man He 'sighed / repented.
however, 'Repent' in the New Testament when Jesus said to the Sinners "Repent & believe the gospel" (greek metanoeo) to changed one's mind & feel morally compunction/remorse for one's sinful ways, thus turning away from sin.
TWO Different Words But i didn't Expect you'd go to the effort to Clarify your Ignorance
Yes, you are no Hebrew scholar. Are you a Jew living a few thousand years ago? No? Then how do you know exactly what a dead dialect of Hebrew says? A dead dialect of Greek? How do you know? You're taking some unsaved "scholar"'s opinion of it. Sorry, I'm going to trust God's Word, the King James Bible which God Himself translated into English. If that makes me stupid, then I don't want to be smart.
I believe we need to realize we are sinners and that the wages of sin is death, and that knowing this will make us realize that we need a Saviour. ...but stop sinning? That is works! The Bible says whosoever believeth on the Son is not condemned. :)
Luke 13;5
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

This preacher is just playing on words and confusing his listeners.
We are saved only by the grace of God, hallelujah! ......................
but wait......THROUGH FAITH (almost forgot that part)......
So then, what will faith do with our lives.......lead us to repent, no less!
It comes down to your definition of faith: Is true faith only an act of the intellect?
.....or will true saving faith lead us to repentance?
Infidelrf 2 months ago
@Infidelrf but wait......THROUGH FAITH (almost forgot that part)..
You dropped another part off, James 2:26For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead...
Gods Grace+Faith+Works= Salvation.. But without love the faith & works is just an empty act..

I do believe though that you MUST have a change of mind about your SIN and about Christ, not just one without the other. Changing from unbelief to belief is part of it, but that's not all. You also have to see yourself as a lost and guilty Hell-deserving sinner before God because of your sin.
Psalm2verse12 1 year ago
@BelieveandtrustJesus I beg to differ. I've talked to many people who do not think what they are doing is wrong. Examples: Sodomites, drunkards, fornicators, etc. I firmly believe, preach and teach that they must see their sin for what it is before they can trust Christ to save them. The sinner MUST agree with God about their sin and agree that it is wrong! Amos 3:3! If we don't see our sin for what it is, we are not believing the Word of God anyway and are still in unbelief.
Psalm2verse12 1 year ago

Psalm2verse12 2 years ago 2

Psalm2verse12 2 years ago 2
no, if you go and sin to the max God will punish you and discipline you very harshely, even give you up to satan to be killed...so plz stop ur poor uneducated argument go learn something first before you make stupid comments

This guy is preaching heresy.
1 John 1:6
6If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth
4The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone obeys his word, God's love[b] is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

So you've completely stopped sinning? You're living a perfect sinless life? When was the last time you sinned?

Stupid repentance preachers (aka stupid Lordship salvationists).
zamarrayerba 2 years ago 2
Not everybody who preaches repentance believes in Lordship Salvation. I'm a repentance preacher and I reject Lordship Salvation(i.e. that one must make Jesus Lord over every part of his life to be saved).
Psalm2verse12 2 years ago
Jesus said Repent or Perish. Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized. The bible says that the Goodness of God leadeth men to repentance. Jesus said Repent and believe the gospel.
preachthehelloutofya 2 years ago 2
God bless.

Act 26:20 they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
Mark 1:15 The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Mark 6:12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
Luke 16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

Anderson is teaching false doctrine here. How sad. Repentance is anti-bible. No, Anderson is.

Again, none of those verses say "repent of your sins" and not all of them are even in the context of salvation.
The Bible says God repented dozens of times. Does that mean He "repented of His sins"? Of course not.
Are you relying on your works (turning from sin) to go to heaven?
Proverbs1x26refurbed 2 years ago
Are you trusting in your work of faith for salvation?
1 Thessalonians 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith
2 Thessalonians 1:11 ...and the work of faith with power:
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is...faith,
To answer you: No. Because I believe repentance and faith are a gift of God.
John 6:29 This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
2 Timothy 2:25 if God peradventure will give them repentance...

Anderson is preaching against that...please get educated before you make comments...he preaches against repent = stop sinning, he says its change of mind
ServantofGod3 2 years ago
@ServantofGod3
Rachella38 2 years ago
he never said you dont need to repent to be saved, can you see the title of the video? he says you dont need to repent of ur SINS to be saved, not repent in general...
ServantofGod3 2 years ago
@ServantofGod
Rachella38 2 years ago
sadly thats not what 99.9% of people define repent of sins as...they define it as turning from sin, giving up sin, stopping doin those sins, e.g. thats what the way of the master defines it as
ServantofGod3 2 years ago 2
Well, they're all wrong according to scripture.
The Bible says the Lord repented in several verses. He was sorry he made man in Gen. 6:6. We all know God doesn't sin.
Repent=be sorrowful..change of mind.
Rachella38 2 years ago
yeah i know, but the phrase repent of sins, repent of your sin/s isnt used in the bible though
ServantofGod3 2 years ago
well it has more then 1 meaning i believe...based on context...e.g. when Jesus says repent and believe the gospel, I doubt he was saying be sorrowful...since that wouldnt make sense in that context, he was telling the Jews to accept/believe him as messiah which they rejected
ServantofGod3 2 years ago
Repenting of our sins is just saying...I'm sorry for my sins Lord. A turning away. Please forgive me, wash me, and save me. Repenting is mainly in our minds. It's a decision to change our way of life, and get right with Christ.
Repent and believe the gospel...change your minds and come to Christ. That's what I think it means.
Rachella38 2 years ago
sounds like you believe its changing your life/turning from sins
ServantofGod3 2 years ago
I believe we are sorry for our sins when we come to Christ, asking him to forgive us and save us. Then after salvation by the power of the Holy Spirit, he helps us to change our lives, and turn from our sins. This is a lifelong process too. Our flesh and spirit is in conflict with each other.
Rachella38 2 years ago
do you think someone can be saved but still live in a lifestyle of sin?
ServantofGod3 2 years ago
@ServantofGod3
Only if they want their bodies turned over to Satan...for destruction, like the man in 1Cor. 5.
Christians aren't sinless. Nowhere does the Bible say that a Christian in this life will ever be completely perfect—that is, free from all sin (1 John 1:8).
Rachella38 2 years ago
The man in 1Cor. 5 had no plans on stopping from sleeping with his step-mother. That's why God intervened. I believe the man was in spiritual chains, in bondage, so God stepped in.
Christians can commit sins. King David murdered & committed adultery, yet the Bible says David was a man, after God's own heart. David sinned, but he always repented.
Rachella38 2 years ago
Repent= be sorry, have a change of mind.
Yes you do have to repent to be saved. If you're not repentful, then what would cause us to even want to be saved? It's being REPENTFUL that causes a person to approach the cross asking Jesus to save us.

Proverbs1x26refresed 2 years ago
The Bible says:
2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
Merriam Dictionary Repent:
2 a : to feel regret or contrition b : to change one's mind
When one calls on the name of the Lord, it takes a repentful=sorrowful heart.
Rachella38 2 years ago
When a person believes on the Lord Jesus Christ to save them, they are repenting of their sin i.e. having a changed additude towards their sin and toward God. It doesn't mean they have to literally turn from sin to get saved, it just means they see their sin-nature for what it is and look at themselves the way God sees them and they realize God is Holy and they are sinful and need to be saved or they will go to Hell Fire.
Psalm2verse12 2 years ago 2
Luke 13:3 uses the same word "perish" that John 3:16 uses in reference to dying in our sins and going to Hell.
Psalm2verse12 2 years ago
Luke 8:24 uses the word "Perish" too:
"And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm"
Did the disciples really think they were going to go to hell? Of coruse not. Perish simply means to die. Luke 13 is talking about physical death, not about being saved or not.
Proverbs1x26refurbed 2 years ago
Do you believe a person can get saved without repenting? BTW, I don't believe in Lordship Salvation or that you have to give up your sins to be saved, but I don't believe what Anderson preaches either. He blacklists anyone who even dare uses the phrase "repent of your sins" or "turn from sin" in salvation. John R.Rice used the phrase "turn from your sins" when defining repentance in his tract "What Must I Do to Be Saved?" but he didn't believe in works salvation.
Psalm2verse12 2 years ago
If we're not sorry for our sins, then how can we expect Christ to save us? That's all repenting means. Being sorry for our sins....A Change of Mind.
Rachella38 2 years ago

Proverbs1x26refresed 2 years ago
What does repenting have to do with pride?
The Bible is clear ...we must be sorry for our sins when we ask the Lord to save us. That's all repenting means. A change of mind. Saying Lord please forgive me and wash all my sins away. Then the Holy Spirit begins to change us from within the rest of our lives = born again.
Rachella38 2 years ago
and where in the bible does it say you have to be sorry for your sins to be saved? acts 16:30-31 doesnt say be sorry for ur sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, just says believe

To be sorry for our sins is called repentance. Repent only means to have a change of mind. If we're not repentful, sorry for our sins, then we won't have any desire to be saved. Will we?
I was sorry for my sins...repentful... when I called on the name of Jesus.
Rachella38 2 years ago
Repentance is the opposite of pride. If a person truly repents, they are not proud for anything they have done, but give all credit and glory to God for saving them.
Psalm2verse12 2 years ago 5
Repent isn't a work.....repent simply means to change your mind. Asking the Lord to forgive you and wash all your sins away. That is exactly what the Bible says to do.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Rachella38 2 years ago
You believe you have to be baptized to be saved?
Proverbs1x26refresed 2 years ago
No I don't. Being baptized is an outward sign of accepting Christ.
Rachella38 2 years ago
If Acts 2:38 says you have to repent to be saved, then it also says you have to be baptized to be saved.
Proverbs1x26refresed 2 years ago
I believe that means the baptism of repentance. We're commanded to repent or else we'll perish.
Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Rachella38 2 years ago
The thief of the cross wasn't water baptized, yet Christ saved him. Just asking to be saved is being sorry for our sins. Repenting is just a change of mind. It's all done in a few seconds of our thoughts... Lord forgive me, and wash my sins all away. That's what I believe.
Rachella38 2 years ago
For = because of, like a wanted poster, wanted for murder = wanted because of murder

the EVIDENCE that you Truly Have Had a "Change of mind / heart" is Shown in the WORKS !!!

Don't BOAST in your "Belief" Even the DEMONS Belive & Tremble.
Read the book of James.
NO WORKS....NO EVIDENCE OF SALVATION
HalieusOPsuche 2 years ago
