  • I don't care. As long as I can get a candy bar for $0.75

  • is it like this with all chocolate if it is im never eating chocolate again

  • @CP1234hello22:

Hi, no its not like this with every chocolate... if it has the "fair trade" sign on the chocolate bar it means that that the there is no child labour involved, parents get a fair wage (which means that they can feed their families and send their kids to school) and plus you get the health benefits from eating chocolate (anti-oxidants etc) providing its a balanced amount :)

  • @Muslimlibrary...fair trade....hahahhaa...yea right....does that mean that the companies have just admitted that all of their trade so far has been unfair....so whos prosecutung them for that then...?..its kinda like a seriel killer announcing that he aint gonna do any more killing, and no one holding him accountable for all the killing he did do but patting him on the back for not doing it anymore.....human beings are becoming stupider and stupider....

  • mars practices fair trade! i love twix now i can eat it without guilt!

  • praying...

  • Can someone inform me about what the African does in this? Do they get a piece of the action or are they just bypassed and their farmers stolen?

  • @dark9944 It is similar to the blood diamond.. the goverment only gets 5% while the company gets 95% and the worker only gets a dollar a day which is not even 1 %.

  • True!

  • make a difference.buy malaysian cocoa.we sure dont have child labour..oh that mosque picture is shah alam blue mosque in malaysia :P

  • you shouldent be saying that what if you were in that situation and some one said that about you!

  • nestle chocolate did have cacao ? , i dont feel on it, if it have is like 1 % only.

  • where are you napoleon ? whe have to kill some fucking people.

  • lol bugger them all the other pakis come to england and get free house and money and all they do is sit on they ass are watch tv for free

  • lol 0:56 skinny nigga lol hahah

  • WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!??!?!??!

How is this funny? what if this was your brother sister, daughter, son, best friend? Whatever, get a life man. Life sucks and the only way we can survive is if peopel support each other. Why did you bother clicking on this if all you were going to do was make fun of a dying person? would you make fun of someone dying of aids? What about cancer? What about torture? Would you make fun of that?

    Get a life dude.

  • @MaryBridget12 you are right bucase if it was my brother i would cry. But i didn't make fun of this people and i came there for a reason not to make fun of them. By the way i leked the way you stod up to yourself and the kids.

  • @ricardodcap Please don't said that, those people are angels who suffer for us. Thats not funny

  • Chocolate should be illegal then, I mean, the govt use these exact reasons to justify the illegality of cocaine.

  • Comprar es Votar mas lejos de tus fronteras.....Buying is voting beyond the borders...........Buy conciously...........VOTE......BEYOND YOUR BORDERS.........Maria

  • When u read liptontea12's comment, you are reading an ignorant voice speaking. I just wished that person would have had done their research before they spoke.

They are slaves, They are forced to work, They don't make money that they earn, They are dying to live.

  • u r so stupid !!! i cant even believe ppl like u exist !

  • ppl like you are the reason why our world is in so much shit right now. selfish and naive.. still living inside ur materialistic bubble. GET REAL MAN.

  • And just to let you know one more thing... some companies also go a step further and donate a percentage of proceeds from each sale to go towards the community.

    It's win win. :)

  • Once again, thank you for your reply, i totally understand what you mean and i agree with you,

to reiterate your point however this is only achievable in the long run, my only concern was what happens to the ophans once they're made to stop work, orphanages, yes, that is the typical answer, however the sad fact is; not all orphanages in Africa take in every single orphan that comes to their door, my opinion is that Fair Trade should home these orphans in some way to help them from the start.

  • Yea its a win win for us because it doesn't go to them. And whatever they are being payed, it isn't enough for them to make a healthy living.

    =(

  • So to reiterate.... we are not giving them a hand out when we buy fair trade... we are teaching them to be self sufficient. We are teaching them how to fish as opposed to giving them a fish.

People can start taking small loans and becoming farmers rather than going to big cities. They will stay back in their home villages and work on making their villages better. If an entire country is given fair trade wages, then the ENTIRE country will benefit through taxes.

  • I'm glad that you uploaded this video, but what happens to the children who get turned down to work by Fair Trade?

How are they taken care of if they have no parents or guardians?

    Who takes care of them?

I ask becuase i genuinely want to know fully what I am supporting, and I wait for your reply

  • If you pay the farmers a fair wage, then they can afford to feed their own children and therefore they wouldn't be forced to go into slavery.

If you feed a community a fair wage, then they can afford to pay higher taxes which would then fund such things as schools, uniforms and books to educate their own children.

  • sorry, that should say, If you "PAY" a community.

  • I understand that and i thank you for your reply, but i was not questioning about the farmers or parents, to be precise, i was questioning orphan children who have no guardians whatsoever to look after them, what source of income is offered to them by Fair Trade and how are they taken care of if they have no one to provide for them and they have no money?

How does Fair Trade intend to counter this particular problem?

  • Put it this way. If a farmer cannot afford his loans, he is not going to give much to the community. But if he gets fair wages, he can then be taxed fairly. And THAT is what goes into his community and therefore THAT money goes to other children in the community including orphanages which will help with schooling them and clothing and feeding them. If an entire village is being paid fairly then the ENTIRE Village benefits from this.

  • This video is really good. Some schools actually do things for fairtrade. My school is attempting to achieve Fairtrade status for our school canteen by hosting a vareity of Fairtrade events and we are also making a documentary film on it.

  • I always hate chocolate.

  • STOP THE KILLINGS IN NESTLE PHILIPPINES.. Justice for Meliton"Ka Mel"Roxas the union president of Nestle Phils.Cabuyao Factory Assassinated 20 January 1989...

  • if your going to post up stuff like this i hope you are one of the few that goes to the capital and protests, i rarely eat chocolate and if i do i buy organic chocolate that either supports animals or i buy it at whole foods or henrys market, do your part too and anyone else reading this we all talk crap but theres no action oil is going to kill the planet wait and see

  • Its so sad that this is truth of the world. People are out there living there lives so easy.. like myself have food when i want water when i want.. Im so lucky to be born where im fromn i just hope humanity can save all one day.....

  • i doubt it my friend,

you see the proof here and yet all people on internet cant even be botherd to pay any small amount of attention...

a meteor has to wipe all man aways only then we can asure a healthy clean future

    (srry 4 the bad spelling..)

  • Wow! Great video! ;D

    Jasak Allah Khair =)

  • this was a really meaningful and well done video. thank you so much for doing you part. i will share this with my youth in the schools and others. give thanks.

  • I like fair trade chocoalte best, its the greatest flavour and its doing your bit. If your a choc addict like me pop into your local oxfam or mager super market and have sum choc which is fair to the 3rd world

  • When I first heard about modern day slavery on the Ivory Coast, my mouth just fell open with shock. I was sure that such slavery was a nightmare that we had left behind. But I especially can't justify eating non-fair trade chocolate. Hershey is NOT fair trade. They admitted it. Little by little, we can change. Buy the organic and fair trade chocolate.

  • Its easy to buy into the bull shit but only a real man speaks out when it seems the whole world seems to be against him. Because believe me if you think your the only one that notices and cares about these issues..... then your dead wrong. There has always been inequalities and evil doers..... but it took brave men and courageous individuals for you to be here today. Do the following generations a favor and play your part in keeping this planet fair and equal.

  • "Then they came for the gypsies and I said nothing. Next they came for the Jews and I said nothing and finally they came for me and there was no one left to speak." Believe me these ruthless assholes are behind 9/11 killing 2,500+ of OUR people. We're not Americas, Mexicans, or Europeans. We're all humans and we should fight against those that deprive other human beings of common human rights.

  • A lot of people have been posting shit like "leave me alone go bother the celebrities or something." And it got me thinking a bit, they are right, they are not the ones making anything decent off these un-fair trades. But I'll tell you what.... these "Capitalist" are fucking you over just as much as they are fucking over the rest of the planet. And believe me take this phrase to heart next time you say such dumb shit like that. "First they came for the homosexuals and I said nothing."

  • sorry to say but "exploitation" is the way of the world. Ministers exploits their folllows, Imams exploit their students, governments exploit their citizens, and business exploits EVERYONE!

Maybe you should pray. We can see what good comes from that!
