Wonderful voice. You proved that music cuts across all barriers and is a wonderful river and the genres are mere rivulets. You carried it so wonderfully, good luck!
my comment was about this piece of crap, no meaning in making personal comments on me. i dont care who wants to say what, she is killing 2 great languages and with it the culture and the tradition that went behind the original compositions. call it fusion or wtever, this might scatter the needs of the so called sophisticated people who knows everything about music. but doesnt serve spirituality which was the aim of the original. @TIAD, open ur eyes, del all abusive posts!not jus mine
The translation is wrong. Aja means Brahma, Bhava means Sri Shankar and Vasudeva means Sri Visnu. The three Gods worship Sri Sarasvati because She is a divine energy of the Supreme Lord and the consort of Narayana in the spritual world.
i guess you should try something more interesting.Carnatic music is mainly to do with the hindu deities and these songs were composed by great saints. There is nothing wrong in doing a fusion but you have other forms like alapana, tanam and swara kalpana which give you a lot more scope. Kritis have a certain feel and divinity.learning to appreciate different forms of music and understanding them before such ventures are taken up is very important.
@jaishreesankaran But, with all due respect, if the song itself inspires awe and goosebumps on your person, then by all means such fusion is welcomed by all saints! To hear the name of Sri Saraswati in the middle of an exotic song just produces pure...ecstasy. God is infinite. In His expansion of Sri Saraswati, He would be willing to play along with exactly such a type of thing if He were to incarnate today.
dearkesava or whoever ever...dont insult susheelas talent because u r not that highly sophisticated to follow the rhythm.go suck ilayarajas cock or lick p,susilas pussy.u might get some lights trough them, good luck
Please do not offend or blame people because of their opinion, language, way to speak ... Just be tolerant. Enjoy the music. Otherwise I will remove those iniquitous comments. Thank You for your understanding. - ** TIAD **
dearkesava...since u r not an irritating idiot, why not come up with an album better than Suseela Raman and prove urself to be a better singer than Suseela Raman.u r saying abt Suseela Raman, look at the singers who are born and brought up in India, suffering to pronounce their words properly...they cant speak their language properly..so dont belittle people..talent in music is a gift from the Goddess Saraswathy.Evryone r not gifted enough..so let ms suseela do what she was sent for..
Woa, another beautiful redtition... I love your work... you are putting such classic indian melodies on the world map... KEEP DOING IT. Do not listen to some narrow minded folks who do not appreciate that music is divine in which ever form it comes..If I had it my way I would love to hear you perform at the rainforest world music festival in Kuching Sarawak.
@Zabatsion There are lots of South Indians who have her skin tone and very curly hair - Ethiopians are beautiful people, so are people from South India.
i love these extremely melodic pentatonic ragas like hindolam, mohanam and hamsadhwani. this could be an effective way of making carnatic music accessible to western ears, still it is a bit difficult to get used to such a dramatic a departure from tradition.
Why does she have to remix this beautiful song....
It spoils the entire song and its melody.... Incorporating such wonderful lyrics into the western genre shatters the divinity of this song....And her pronunciation is totally bad...You can do these kinds of experimentations with some english lyrics maybe not this....
@kan10500 God dude/dudette relax!!.. Im sure she is not trying to kill the sanctity of the orig song. This is just a different rendition of the song. Nobody said Carnatic music has to be only one way and besides this song reaches people who have not heard about the classic Carnatic. People just need to be a little more open minded

Music is something defined to a culture. It is not how a song is been sung, it is how you listen to it. Good work.
