Detroit is a clear example for the whole wold of what can happen when a city is too dependent on one single industry/company. This is why it's so important for city to have a diversified economic base.

This reminds me of my "city" Binghamton. Almost all of the businesses moved out of downtown leaving tons of abandon historical buildings. However most are knocked down leaving big open lots used for parking for collage students

As a Town Planner from Regional Australia, Detroit is a city with so much potential. There's so many amazing buildings begging for people to buy them, fix them, and move in. There's just not enough people in Detroit to fill them all.
I just wish this video spent more time showing the buildings, than showing special effects. It's not enough time on each of the sites to get a true idea of what's happening.
This is a sad story about a one time great city that has died... I lived in the fort street and junction area and can remember the days when you were proud of this city, not now. It will be 50 to100 years before it will be a great city again.

Spoke an Irish couple in church this morning, they desperately emigrated to Holland. Although highly educated, they could not find any acceptable job. Now they are working in a factory, and try to learn Dutch as fast as they can to find a better job. Many will follow that example, I fear. Another exodus.

Prophecy: Detroit,..., worried and sad, flight caused blight, men without hope, suddenly a kind of spreadout disaster that only extends to it's borders, not water, not fire, not weather, leaves a "katrina" after-affect. People shouting, disturbed in the street, a huge crowd downtown marching around city hall, helicopters overhead, instructiing, warning,... then, an image in the sky brings all to their knees, street revival, cry and images seen worldwide, respond with aid, result = Renewal.

Detroit is never going to recover in the near or long term, in fact, Detroitifcation is going to be a trend for America as it loses its economic robustness to Asian countries. Those Asian slums you will see will turn into modern metropolises in another 20 to 30 years, our Western cities will be more like today's Asian cities. That is what the elites who run our nations want, they want us to be slaves.

As a Town Planner from Regional Australia, Detroit is a city with so much potential. There's so many amazing buildings begging for people to buy them, fix them, and move in. There's just not enough people in Detroit to fill them all.
I just wish this video spent more time showing the buildings, than showing special effects. It's not enough time on each of the sites to get a true idea of what's happening.

This is a sad story about a one time great city that has died... I lived in the fort street and junction area and can remember the days when you were proud of this city, not now. It will be 50 to100 years before it will be a great city again.

Many other American cities are facing the same fate as Detroit. You would be shocked to see what the next Detroit could be, my bet is San Francisco, yep San Francisco, for many years tech companies have kept the economy there strong but with more outsourcing to Asia and elsewhere I doubt the that region will stay strong for much longer.
