Hi, I'v been looking at some of your vids. Wonderful, love them! Anyway, I'v been trying to take off some weight so far I'm down about 60 + lbs. I just wanted to tell you that I think that grains make me hungry and bring on food cravings. I still have grain however, I'v been limiting grains some what more, just to see if I'm right. So, I guess I'm doing a little self testing. Lol ! But, ya know, ya gotta learn your body and what works for ya. Right ! ? You seem to be doing great ! Cheers ! :D
I did the self testing too. I gave up grains because they triggered more bad eating for me and because they are all processed just to make them digestible.
Congratulations on your weight loss, that is something to really be proud of.
I find that exercise makes me less hungry... weird! I think it is because it keeps me preoccupied. :) and after working out I don't want to make food, or eat. I just want to drink some water and relax on the couch, sometimes with a yogurt.
Great video. I love how you put the pictures in. I am going to try those corn tortillas and that tea. I wanted to suggest as an after work out snack like a thin slice of low soidum turkey breast or chicken (i get mine at Whole Foods) and wrap it around a stick of string cheese or a slice of some low cal cheese. I like that, I just roll it up and eat it, but I don't know if that would work for you. Thanks for sharing.
The pictures cover what I am learning are called jumps in video editing lingo. I am teaching myself how to edit. :-)
I don't eat milk products except for cottage cheese and after I made this video, I gave it up too. I am going to do the Paleo diet full force combined with CR. It is so much more healthy.
I hope to make a video about it when I learn more.

i like to eat protein after exercising too, good luck with testing what works for you, it can be challenging especially when you your brain is blinded by hunger, lol.
That Yogi tea is very good. I add Stevia to it because to me all teas taste better sweet. Yes, the Greek likes the nuts, unfortunately so do I. I never have enough calories left in the day to have them but I do anyway. Grr.
Today the hunger was there but not as bad. Hope I can control it, I am trying something different. I seems to work so far.

That stinks that you gained....BUT at least you know why~ also you could have gained some muscle too~ Protein is soooo great when you workout! Be sure and drink TONS of water~
Hiya! I love your channel. I'm a calorie counter like yourself & have lost nearly 100 lbs. I recently learned of a really good alternative to carb based foods like, pasta, rice, maize, grains & cereals &, potatoes etc. They're called called Shirataki / Yam or Miracle Noodles, they're basically made from fibre & have Zero (or very low depending on brand) calories, carbs, protein & fats. :)
The closer you get to your goal the better it is to go buy your measurments, pant size, and how you feel :o)
Good luck don't be scard of carbs just eat them in moderation and before your workout try not to have them late in the day like before bed :o) hope that helped
Also on the days you workout you are aloud more caloires and you'll still loose weight or inches because your burning them off :o) Maybe your issue is more on the timing of the food :o)
One tip on Exerciseing: When you have carbs Always try to have them before the gym. Because you'll burn them off before they have time to convert.. Then after your workout ideally within 20 min. have that cottage cheese you talked about that will feed your muscles and help repair them so they can build :o)
Also are you still taking your measurments? You want to go by now cause muscle is more dence then fat .. meaning you can look smaller and weigh more do to your muscle increase :o)
People always say that its cheap to be fat..with junk foods.. but I find its cheaper to eat fresh veggies and meats.. when you dont fill the cart with processed junk foods. Love seeing your grocery hauls :D I dont do well with grains either.. they plump me up.. some people do fine but others get fat from them. Depends on your body.

I guess I have gotten accustomed to buying japanese chicken and they are organic and very cheap out here. Hey Marjie, I am also a scale prisoner so I understand the frustration of seeing the scale move in the wrong direction even when we are doing everything right. One thing to consider is that if you are working out, often you will gain weight due to building muscle. Also, if you are burning an additional 500 calories a day, you might not be eating enough calories. I am curious to see if upping the protein helps as that is something I am working on as well. I am just curious to know if you tried any other websites (like fitday). I am looking at both programs and just can't decide which one I like better. I do want to start using a program to help me track calories/carbs/fats. I think it will offer more insight into what may be missing from my diet. Do you have any advice on that?

I wouldn't know, for me it would have to be unprocessed and i really doubt there is such a thing. I don't eat baked goods. Well, I do have an occasional cookie at Barnes and Noble. I split one cookie with the husband every other month or so.
My top 10 snacks foods are all fruit.
Fresh and dried fruit. All of them.
Right now I am enjoying blueberries. I am a seasonal eater, or try to be.
I will make a fridge kitchen tour as soon as I can. I am planning a series of food videos right now.
You don't get fat from eating grains!!!! I totally disagree - sorry! Love your vids but disagree with this. Maybe it doesn't work for you but for a lot of people grains are fine. Your body is probably adjusting to them as you've not had them in a long time. I'm losing weight and eating grains.
I wouldn't worry about the weight gain. You look great.
You should never be hungry - if you are, your metabolism will go into starvation mode.
I would say you're very lucky to be able to eat grains and not suffer any health problems. I am one of the unlucky ones that is addicted to them and since they turn to sugar then fat I find it best to avoid them. It has taken me a darn long time to get over the addiction to them. I still have it and find I substitute the sugar I was getting from them in dried fruit.
My health greatly improved since I gave up grains, low blood pressure, low cholesterol, no bloating, no swelling,and others.
Remember to keep life in perspective and not get neurotic

Yes, I had a big bowl of fruit after the workout. They are great carbs and they filled me up. I wasn't hungry all day.

I read that being less hungry happens to some people as well as making them hungry. I guess it might matter how many calories we consume in a day.
I don't eat yogurt, a nice bowl of fresh fruit helped me, I wasn't hungry all day, a nice change.

There are some great books about how bad they really are for us. I am convinced they are what is making and keeping us all fat.
Combine them with sugar and wow what a mess.
So glad you know to stay away from them. i hear sprouted grains are better, that is why I bought those sprouted grain tortillas.

I am not scared of carbs. I educated myself about them and feel very comfortable not having them.
I am a CR person. Calorie Restriction is about eating less calories not for weight loss but for life. A side effect of CR is weight loss.
I started CR for the side effect and continue it for its health benefits.
So eating more just to exercise is defeating my purpose of CR.
I think it was the timing, I waited until I got home to eat 2 hours after the gym. I will stop doing that.

Yes, I plan on having some carbs, a banana, before my workout tomorrow then cottage cheese after.
I take my measurements often, plus the gym does it once a month.

Grains have always plumped me up. Even as a kid, but I didn't know how truly bad they are for us. I am so glad I finally wised up.
Some people may think they are doing great with them, proof is in their blood work.

Carbs Make me Fat! Or should I say FATTER....lol.lol.lol.

2 weeks might be good, a month better.
The first thing I noticed was how lean I became. I was shocked.
I had been a grain addict for years.
I bet that Japanese chicken is great. That chicken I bought is not so good but I didn't want to go to the store with the better brand.
Thanks about the house, it is all we could afford, it is a manufactured home.

I am happy for you that grains don't affect you as they do me and others.
Since they turn to sugar then fat, and also very addicting, I found it unwise for me to continue eating them.
Having said that, I do eat 2 corn tortillas once a week.
So I don't go completely without grains.

I will see how I do tomorrow. I work out 3 days a week. The min. amount and still get health benefits from it.
The scale went down 1 pound already today.
Less carbs is what is what will do it for me.

The cronOmeter is a download, you customize it.
It tracks your calories,carbs,fats, sugars, water, nutrients, weight, and other things.
I have been using it for 18 months. Didn't try others.
It won't tell you what is missing, but will tell you what is in the food, you make the judgment weather to eat it or not.
I don't eat grains and most of the programs advice it so I they wouldn't work for me.
