This totally made my day. You've all got me wanting to sing now, and that's saying a lot. Sure does bring back a lot of memories... except for the Halo, that's too awesome to become something of the past.
I don't know who's been ripping you to shreds, but I heard quite a few inconsistencies in the female vocal parts in each of the redefined videos I watched. You could look at it this way if you wanted. You are one of a few groups that has managed to get THAT many people together to perform some pretty dern complicated music. Having said that, I must also add....good job. It's easier for me to listen to this than it was to redefined.

@MHMaverick Yes, actually, since we were borrowing the idea from Redefined, they made us sign a contract stating that we would copy every single movement they did. Also, when we finished this performance, we were kicked off campus due to our unoriginality. Not a single person in that room enjoyed it, and all of the positive comments on here are actually lies. That's like saying a school that did footloose this year is ripping of the school district that did it two years ago. I can't tell you how many times I've come across the same Disney medley that had similarities...For what you guys did- it was awesome- girls were a bit pitchy sometimes- but that may also have been the quality of the video.
The halo part was AWESOME! 5*'s on the strength of that alone - And i thought the rendition of the zelda theme was actually better than Redefined's version (yes, i have seen their vid - many times!) Great work and keep it up :D

Yes.. apparently you didnt READ what i wrote. They didn't give credit AT THE SHOW. What the fuck good is it to post a blurb online. We all know they stole the bit, the audience members are the ones who were lied to.
Since when do groups at any concert mention who they are covering... sure it happens sometimes, but if you go to a Dave Matthews concert and they play All Along The Watchtower without first explaining that it is a cover, are they lying to the audience as well?
Also, Redefined did not mention Nintendo at their concert. They did not mention the names of the names of the composers of the original Nintendo music that they were "ripping off". Did Redefined lie to their audience?

Hmm... how about if I say it another way (ha)... Redefined was not the first group to do a medley of video games, and they were not the first group to act out what they are singing. When it comes to acapella performance, things can get pretty boring if the group stands up there and does nothing but sing and look pretty. If you've gone to an acapella concert, then you will have seen different groups doing all kinds of both scripted and nonscripted acts and dances to compliment their performance.
So, that said, if an acapella group wants to perform a bunch of songs from video games, and act them out, this does not automatically imply of ripoff of execution from a group called Redefined. I mean... how else are you supposed to act out tetris? Dress up as a space ship and take off from the stage?
Oh come on. They did this for the fun of it, so stop being such spoil sport critics. Plus they made an effort to make it their own, especially with the Goombas, and their singing ain't half bad. Good job guys! Appreciate the humble references to Redefined.

The acting bit was most definitely copied. The Tetris and Link bits were the most obvious, and the intro (art piece from japan). This was done originally (and much better) by the a cappella group Redefined. Just search for nintendo acappella

The halo part was AWESOME! 5*'s on the strength of that alone - And i thought the rendition of the zelda theme was actually better than Redefined's version (yes, i have seen their vid - many times!) Great work and keep it up :D

Since when do groups at any concert mention who they are covering... sure it happens sometimes, but if you go to a Dave Matthews concert and they play All Along The Watchtower without first explaining that it is a cover, are they lying to the audience as well?

Also, Redefined did not mention Nintendo at their concert. They did not mention the names of the names of the composers of the original Nintendo music that they were "ripping off". Did Redefined lie to their audience?

Bah, you're comparing apples and oranges. Dave Matthews playing a Jimi Hendrix song does NOT compare to an a capella group ripping off another a capella group. The notoriety is considerably different, as is the recognizability. And Nintendo isnt a band you dumbass, those songs were written by a myriad of composers. You've got some of the worst logic I've ever seen.

How is this a capella group ripping off another a capella group? Redefined didn't do Halo, they didn't have goombas or coins, they didn't do Mario Kart. Does every a capella group who wishes to do a medley of videogame music from now on HAVE to mention Redefined in order to avoid being called ripoffs? Quit being such a hardass and enjoy the music. Hmm... how about if I say it another way (ha)... Redefined was not the first group to do a medley of video games, and they were not the first group to act out what they are singing. When it comes to acapella performance, things can get pretty boring if the group stands up there and does nothing but sing and look pretty. If you've gone to an acapella concert, then you will have seen different groups doing all kinds of both scripted and nonscripted acts and dances to compliment their performance.

I mean... how else are you supposed to act out tetris? Dress up as a space ship and take off from the stage?

The acting bit was most definitely copied. The Tetris and Link bits were the most obvious, and the intro (art piece from japan). This was done originally (and much better) by the a cappella group Redefined. Just search for nintendo acappella
