  • My Bloody Valentine and Sigur Ros had a Japanese baby which they named Boris. They lit the baby on fire, and the baby sang this song.

  • Lmfao my name is Boris.

  • I always thought this song was the love child of My Bloody Valentine and The Deftones, with just a hint of Sonic Youth. But hey what the fuck do I know.

  • Thank you for posting this! Is there any way you can post Boris' (when we're gone)? Id be so thankful if you could! :D

  • This song will probably be played at my funeral

  • Limits of Control!!!

  • I'm not big on everything these guys make, but this song is fantastic.

  • say thanks to nick drake

  • i didnt think hipsters liked boris, but i can see from these comments that thats bullshit. hopefully you faggots stay away from the live shows so i can still enjoy them

  • @EPICBEAR73 That CD they released with the lead singer from the cult was real shoegazey too. That was one of the first things I noticed when it started playing. It sounds good.

  • check out my guitar cover for farewell

    youtube.com/watch?v=t3TdkxeVI6s

  • You know that tunnel people supposedly see when they're dying, and you aren't supposed to go toward the light? I know it sounds fucking cheesy, but this song is what I imagine that tunnel feels like.

  • Brilliant.

  • These guys are the only metal band I like. Probably because a good chunk of their stuff isn't even really that metal. This album is absolute beauty.

  • Amo a Boris!

  • Even though I can't understand a word they're saying, I feel something. Like my heart's breaking in a really pleasant way :)

  • @kmacmuzikmafia27 Exactly.

  • Second glimpse of Boris I hear, today. First I heard Bad Brains, now I hear U2 & Wire combination. Guess one of those many now-a-days bands, with a large CD collection, and doomed to disappear in the music history.

  • Someone told me Coldplay were good. I poked them in the eyes.

  • I heard this in the film Confessions. Amazing sequence. Love the distorted-to-fuck guitar, reminds me of fra-foa. Cathartic, raw and pure.

  • Some people say Asians have no souls... BORIS proves that, in a good way. Ever looked the Devil in the eye and been okay with it? No? Go see BORIS live, then try and talk shit, you little bitches!

  • Weak! I just found out the title of this song and now it is so not a workable wedding song. In other news news, go check out Boris live if you get the chance, they're epic. Especially if you get really drunk first.

  • Nick Drake.

  • the my bloody valentine influence here is great...incredible song.

  • I think this most reminds me of the Deftones. Even the vocal use is very similar. I love Deftones, so I love Boris now too.

  • @lainifer Some guy on Youtube actually did a mash-up between Sunn O))), Boris, and the Deftones.

Look up "Sinking of an Uninteresting event".

  • 12 people don't have a fuckin clue.

  • I think if Sigur Ros were 100 times heavier, they would sound something like this. Anyway, great song.

  • @Radicality9 ha legit comparison

  • spell

  • The beginning sounds like Nick Drake's Horn !!! :D

Now that I think of it, Akuma no Uta's cover image parodies Drake's Bryter Layter.

This song sounds like a tribute to me - props to Boris and to Nick Drake (to whom the intro to this song partially belongs :P)

  • wow words can't describe what i felt after i listened to this video

  • Everything Boris does is so fucking intense.

  • pure ambience ((0_0))

  • limit of control

  • @tagomago91 LMFAO

  • I love this.

  • I saw them a month and a half ago live. Stoned as fuck, this was the opening song. Let's say guys, it's like God came down and made love to my ears. I felt every wall ever crumble. So good.

  • i like this song but it does sound a lot like "my hero" by the foo fighters. like, a lot.

    "there goes my hero.."

  • This song as a set opener= divinity.

  • shoegazer meets mudhoney

  • Holy shit this song just blew my mind...

  • lol my name is boris

  • So they've been opening with this recently? I hope I get to be so lucky when I see them on Friday, this may well be my favorite song of theirs.

  • this song sounds like space exploding in trippy colors and planets slowly crashing into each other as people die, slowly drifting into space watching their tears float in front of them reflecting the peace that comes in death

  • they opened with this in SLC. show was amazing!

  • seeing this live is freaking awesome. it is so easy to get lost in the music and forget where you are

  • @drummerjs

Yeah, saw them two days ago, and they opened with this. Absolutely stunning live.

  • will be seeing them on tuesday in Detroit!

  • this is brilliant...!

i couldn't wait to see the credits in "limits of control" to learn who commited such a piece of music!

    thanks for posting!

  • Nice!

  • ...hipster shite? really?

    ....nigga you gay

  • @Masamune3570 Boris is "hipster shite", tool.

  • @Masamune3570 How on earth is Sigur Ros "hipster"?

  • @simonx4 boris can't even grow beards. also "hipsters" dont really like doom metal, they all like Black Lips or Wavves or electro house, shit like that.

  • @joewhittles to be fair the black lips used to be really fucking good, hipster affiliated or not. plus stop feeding the stigma. Wavves blows

  • @asszzes new account, its the same guy

personally im ambivalent to hipsters. i can see how people hate the worst aspect of them but honestly the girls are mainly cute and some of them have a good sense of style and they support independent music so thats all thumbs up for me.

i actually like black lips and a bit of wavves really (king of the beach is a genuinely good album), but thats not the point. they're both big in hipster circles right now and doom metal hasn't been for like 8 years.

  • @moralreef same guy as who? bullshit, whos monitoring these supposed circles. I haven't heard of any circles?

  • @asszzes im the same person as joewhittles, thats what i was getting at

  • @joewhittles or any band with Black in it. wait, whats wrong Black Lips?

  • i see a giant ship in the sky falling apart when i hear this song

  • @12inchvertical Same.... weird

  • @mlt0403 that IS weird. Perhaps we are sharing a brain. God knows most of the time I feel like I've only got half of one...

  • @12inchvertical quickly someone make hindenburg X boris video?

  • @ShitCrap if only i was good with computer animation. one day you'll be able to download straight from the brain maybe :)

  • 映画「告白」のクライマックスで流れてた。サイコー

  • @jillramone i agree

  • I'll be seeing these guys and Russian Circles in August.

    HELL YEAH

  • @RoundWounds haha I wanted to see them in ATL in August but ironically I won't get back from Japan in time . . . they play the Masquerade on Aug. 1 and I don't leave until Aug. 6 . . . seems pretty funny to miss a Japanese band because I'm in Japan . . .

  • heard this from jim jarmusch's limits of control...and i knew i'd love them.

  • @hollywoodowl Same. It fitted so well in that film i thought.

  • i think this is in the key of &*%^&$%

  • reminds me a lot of Nick Drake in the beginning...

  • Could anyone tell me what key this song is in

  • I FUCKING LOVE BORIS!

seeing them in london may 17th :D

  • This is my first boris experience. I'm just thinking... Deftones with extra apathy.

  • @impcirca1988 their pretty impossible to judge by any one song. they have played most variation of drone/doom/stoner rock and experimental music imaginable

  • i remember playing this for some girl and she said it sounded like coldplay.

    some things warrant domestic abuse.

  • @tagomago91

    Best comment ever.

  • @tagomago91 What an excellent comment

  • @tagomago91 oh boy, I almost choked. D:

  • @tagomago91 im so so so sorry for you.

  • @tagomago91 ROFL. Completely agree.

  • @tagomago91 best comment ever :)

  • @tagomago91 BWAHAHAHA NIce dude

  • @tagomago91 I once had some tool tell me that the guy from Coldplay was a better pianist than Ray Charles. Some other things warrent a poke in the eyes.

  • @tagomago91 best comment ever hahaha

  • @tagomago91

Boris and Coldplay? Did you slap that bitch?

  • Having only heard Absolutego, this is the exact opposite of what I was expecting to hear, but it's even better than I had expected. This song is absolutely AMAZING!

  • boris have never made an album that has ceased to amaze me from doom to shoegaze, to punk to psyche

  • TCV are not all that! Waste of Talent. Why Homme didn't just continue doing Desert sessions I dunno!

  • best opening song EVER

  • Update: I've now got this album and I love the alternation of more standard lo-fi rock songs and a shoegaze drone style.

  • shoegaze + doom = Boris

    RULEZ

  • @Merzbowxnoise or shoegaze + drone= Boris ;]

  • and whats with shoegaze + noise = Bori :)

  • @Merzbowxnoise okok :DD

  • this song is from movie THE LIMITS OF CONTROL :) i love this song

  • tak

  • taa :)

  • haha, same story. I thought that if jarmusch recommends something, it has to be brilliant. And i was right.

  • wow. that was really good. love the guitar.

  • looooooooooooveeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.. i got to see them live, an amazing live performance. if you have the chance GO!

  • @ApplwPiw you lucky basterd =P dude, check out Them Crooked Vultures, they arent stoner rock, but they are still freaken amazing. its Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age (really good band), John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin(amazing band!) and Dave Grohl from Foo Fighter (really good drummer)

  • Hey, shoegaze

  • I agree with the Helicon comparison. I only decided to listen to this band after their music featured in "Limits of Control" and really drove a couple of scenes. Very tempted to buy an album now, I love it.

  • Do it, it's quite worth it.

  • 1:18!!!

  • Trippy

  • It reminds me of Mogwai's Helicon. HUGE.

  • yeah, japanoise!!!

  • I prefer the 18 mins one =P

    boris rule

  • Heaviest band on earth

  • Might see them in 2 months :D

  • bye every one

  • I gotta buy or die, this album

  • Man that tone at 1:20. So fucking crushing. Amazing band live and on record.

    Beautiful.

  • amazing ! Need more BORIS !

  • Good God is this song epic. Love it.

  • this was the song that turned me onto southern lord records. amazing stuff.

  • underground

  • yo dude this shit is trippy man but its so cool

  • thanks for the song

  • thank you so much for posting this song. it's like my bloody valentine and melvins having sex and subsequently giving birth to a 2 headed baby.

  • japanish people can haz muzik!!!

  • I was searching for this song since I saw them live in Montreal doing the first part of NIN. In my opinion, they completely stole the show, and the songs like this one are SO LOUD that everything in you is shaking. I remember closing my eyes and feeling so great!

    A band to see live!!!

  • I know! It was so AWSOME! I acually only like them live though!

  • Joya!!! viva Boris!¡

  • fucking love this song... anyone have any suggestions for similar bands? i'm really just getting into this style of music.

  • Sunn O))) and Melvins are similar, if in very different ways. Boris is actually the name of a Melvins song.

  • Melvins is great but they have more of a hardcore edge sound and not, I would say, a "triumphant" sound as this song has. Try Pelican. You won't be disappointed.

  • yeah i second that... i want to know another band like this... "drone metal" ? right?

  • yes, i do believe that's what its classified as. And thanks stairway to heaven

  • Earth

  • They forgot to mention Pelican. A truly great drone metal band out of Chicago. - The song "Angel Tears" in particular. You may not agree but you could also try songs like "Minerva" and "Pink Miggit" from The Deftones.

  • Pelican aren't drone.

    At all.

  • "Pelican themselves note that they can be filed next to bands as diverse as Godflesh, Earth and even Mogwai. The Earth reference definitely holds true the most, as Pelican are one of those ever-illusive drone acts. "

    - This is from the doom metal website. This is only one of the websites that sites them as being Drone. People, please listen to "Angel Tears".

  • Pelican are just... Pelican =s No drone at all.

  • no he's right... try those songs by deftones... wierdly similar :)

  • this seems to be a bit like 'minerva' by the 'deftones' except deftones are a little... tidier? for lack of a better word. I actually checked this out after a comment on deftones and yeah there is something similar between em. I think I prefer deftones' singer, however these are pretty good too!

  • deftones! been my fav band for a decade! this band is up there too! :)

  • I don't agree, boris are much dronier and the emotion is more raw.

  • I guess there is always one who disagrees, but to be honest, i cant think of a more similar sound to deftones.. i'd be interested to know if there are other bands even more similar, I might like those too

  • If you're interested by the way this song rips the melody from nick drakes "horn"

  • @Lightningbaron69 well its a tribute to nick drake -.-

  • well it reminds me a bit of deftones but only from the last record (saturday night wrist)

  • If any Deftones track, it'd probably be Minerva from 'Deftones'.

  • If you like the darker end of the spectrum I suggest Electric Wizard's Dopethrone album....

  • I've heard Barbarian by them but that's about it.

I loved that song so I should definitely check out the rest of it.

  • man I haven't heard anyone talk about that band in a while. I dig Sleep myself, but they're pretty cool. I like the album cover to Dopethrone.

  • Dopethrone is absolutely INSANE!! an amazingly good album

  • always some intensely winter-ish visuals for this song. Love how it just collapses in at 1:19

  • i feel like im falling in slow motion thru a dark, cold, snowy soundscape whenever i close my eyes and listen to this song. absolutely one of the best things ever to grace my ears

  • go see em live..its rad..

  • yes they are fucking awesome live. i've seen them only once though.

  • lol i think people have really stopped listening to music all toghether and just talk about what kind of music it is... "oh i won't listen to that its not melodic punk post rock modern jazz"... great song, makes me feel funny inside.

  • Chill song. Good for bus rides.

  • This is one of those type of rare songs that blows you away everytime you hear it. I never get tired of it.

  • amazing song, amazing band. very trippy atmosphere.

  • well in this vein of music

    electris wizard and weedeater mostly

with a bit of green goblin to fill it out

  • I can't decide whether the drum fills before the vocals come in or the (sadly brief) solo is the best part. I shiver every time

  • What the fuck are you talking about
