He's just playing with classical left hand technique, nothing wrong with that. Gripping the neck and wearing the guitar down at your knees is limiting. (try playing Holdsworth like that) If you have GIANT hands like Hendrix you can get away with poor technique.

As a musician myself, I am thoroughly impressed... but Trey, there are two or three isolated moments when you almost lose the beat (very very minor) and I notice that you very occasionally gloss over and abridge some of the runs... very few... maybe less than seven or eight times... so you still have a couple of weeks or months to go... but you're almost there... I wouldn't be surprised if I saw a fantastic album with your name on it in a year or two.

Really good..sounds exactly like the original version. Pardon my ignorance, but is this a humbucker configuration? I have no single coils on my guitar and I believe the original version was played on a single coiled strat...so do let me know.

Thank you. It's two humbucker pick ups, I usually switch back and forth between the neck and bridge humbucker to change the tone. Bridge pickups usually give you a more edgier sound as apposed to the neck pickup which has more of a fuller sound.

Nice job Trey. Like me you do not attempt to play it note for note and substitute some of your own licks while still keeping it within the context of the song. It sounded like you recorded it direct into your computer so the guitar sound was a little rough. Maybe change the way your cabinet emulator is set up. 5 Star rating from me.
