Also, it's not as though people hadn't seen shocking and horrible events before 9/11, for example the Holocaust, The assanation of President Kennedy, the assanation of Robert Kennedy, the assanation of Martin Luther King, the assanation of Malcom X, Pearl Harbor, and the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.

@jigsawlover1984 Marilyn Manson was inspired by those events though, and his music career reflected them in some way. Whatever message Manson was trying to get across with Holy Wood was dashed away by 9/11, which brought about a whole new, stupid era of American history that he never bothered to adapt to. He wanted to be America's boogeyman, but they didn't need one anymore after that. The tour for Holy Wood ended a few days before 9/11, and as far as his career goes, I find that pretty fitting.
