BBC, please pay attention (not that you will): If you won't let us watch the episodes, people who haven't seen them won't want to buy the DVDs. So stop taking them down.
@roboticscreamskull well th titles and then a bit of a bish bash between clips of the doctor and mel talking about where they are going next ( paradise towers ) and a yellow kang.. what looks like th last yellow kang being taunted and then killed by a cleaner
@keiracounsell - Exactly, I remember watching this first in late 1987. I was only 12 but loved it, even though I didn't understand everything that was going on :-D
I remember watching this as a kid and never got past the first episode - it was seeing the leg sticking out of that cleaning robot that scared the crap out of me! O_O
OMG, I LOVE Seven's expression as Mel is talking: "Remind me why you're here again... because I'm beginning to think you'd prefer the pool to the TARDIS."
So very 80s! I love it...but then again, if Doctor Who is still going in 20 years time, people will probably look backs on the most recent episodes and go "So very 2000s!" haha
notice minute 1:00 - the graffiti on the wall is the robots claw killing the yellow kang; in the corner where that yellow kang actually gets killed by said type of disposal robot. Meta-reference instance of the McCoy era just like the beginning of the series coming on in Remembrance as Ace walks out of that house ;)
@SciFiAssasin Also the penultimate glimpse of the console room ever...(bar the dimly lit snippet in 'Battlefield') Quite sad really (me and this fact!!)
@kamelion7 It was in the following two stories, and one scene in the next series, before Battlefield. I'm sadder than you, if this makes you feel better.
@SciFiAssasin Oh yeah!!! What a div. For a minute there I thought this was season 25!!! Of course it showed up in DELTA, DRAGONFIRE and GREATEST SHOW plus one quck bit in BATTLEFIED - see, I match your sadness!!! HAHAHA :-)
I dont get everyone hated Mel so much....i mean, after two big whingers like Tegan and Peri its nice to have someone who actually enjoyed travellering with the Doctor!!!...and u gotta love the crazy 1980's perm!!!
When I read about this episode in DWM I really wanted to watch it

I think this is based around the book 'high rise' by JG Ballard which is also set in a desimated tower block.

Typical of the Doctor, isn't it? He always travel to some planet or whatever and it never turns out to be what it is supposed to be.

I love that the Doctor's hat is on top of the TARDIS pillar. That's so cute.
6:23 The red Kang's greeting is neat. Good writing.

At 02:36 it's the final ever use of the Tardis' big red door-knob.

The 7th Doctor's theme makes me want to kill things...
LeonSKennedy828 1 year ago
The best thing about this era was the opening theme. The next best thing? The closing theme. That's about as good as it got. (Sorry Sylvester fans)
