I think in heard a fox screaming in pain last night because it sounded like this but it continued rapidly,non-stop. I could hear it moving all around my back yard. I went out side to see what it was but i changed my mine after i was outside for about 2 min. TOO FREAKY.

It is a fox...but there are PLENTY of coyotes in Virginia! Their range has expanded greatly in modern times. Coyotes were first found to be expanding into Virginia in the 1950's.

I think all US states (except Hawaii) now have coyotes. One was recently found in Central Park in New York City.
