I love this song a good fusion of many rhythms. But I heard some of the lyrics. There is a genocide in Iraq and I don't really care about your american troops. We have been bombed into oblivion with nuclear waste running in our bloodstream. Still It's a good song. But for peace to be achieved there must be JUSTICE.
@arabwomanblues Dear: Justice will come AFTER peace. Peace does not begin with politicians; it begins in the heart of the individual: with humility, love and self-less actions. I wish that you did care about the Americans there, as that was not their choice but their duty, as commanded by The President. We bleed & die just like you. How many of his own people did Sadam Hussein kill? I salute all who have sacrificed during this Arab Spring for their courage in choosing THEIR OWN COURSES. Amen
LUV DIS SONG! AND COTR! They always close there show wit this song and the crowd are all on there feet... I really do miss these shows! in cali but no shows here yet. i need to move back to seattle :(

This is making me sick...being a purist at heart, it's bastardized the original version from the early 1900's, even the lyrics are off...Xarhakos version in the movie "Rembetiko" back in 1983 is FAR better...and the English singing is gonna make me hurl...
I stumbled across Children of the Revolution while walking around Seattle during Bumbershoot (a three day music festival). I just sat down and enjoyed 45 minutes of mind blowing music and great energy. Amazing cultural alchemy!

Translation of Greek Lyrics:
"I look in the eyes of our ancient foes, I see darkness and our children dying, I cant find the end, a way or hope but I hold my luck in my hands.
The children of the defense, lit up a fire again..another string strum in place and they'll find a way to demolish darkness..To your health ,FREEDOM"

Just think, they could be realtors, lawyers or in the military, or the press or professors supporting it.
