what a beauty, this by far my fav guitar of all time,, i quit playin LPs because of the weight mainly,, i ve played a few chambered , they re ok, but LPs weigh that much for a reason i guess, my back just likes SG s better

What's the differences between this one and a regular les paul custom? And what is VOS?

@TheGooseTavern Some cosmetic stuff, Tuners, Knobs, but more importantly different PU's. The Regular one has 490R/498T PAF's while the Vintage Old Stock has Burstbuckers. I myself like the Burstbuckers better, they're a little cleaner & brighter, lower output, enhanced highs and upper mids. The 490R/498T are hotter, higher output and a bit heavier. Probably more appropriate for Metal and stuff, still versatile though. Also the V.O.S. weighs more which would give you fuller tone and more sustain.

Greg how's the weight on that? how would u compare the neck to the fender american deluxe strat?

@BayouBluesMan Im not Greg, but I have experience with both guitars.

The Custom’s weight in about 9 lbs, where as the Strat is about 5-6 pounds.

The Custom’s neck is thick and rounded, close to a 59 profile, where as the Strat’s neck is quite thin.

If you are trying to choose one or the other, I suggest getting a regular Black Les Paul custom, its thicker and less whinny than the Strat, and by just getting a non reissue one, you save $3000.

You can play from Blues to Metal all sorts and it look in all sorts of music fantastic! It´s an dream guitar.

@smickguitars well, lets say the LP Customs are very flexible guitars... it suits various styles from jazz, blues, up to rock n roll, rock, and some metal stuff too. Because of the ebony neck Id say the bright sound is a bit close to the Fender, unlike the rosewood round tone... so the LP Custom has its unique tone... Id definetely use this guitar for Black Sabbath stuff, Aerosmith, GnR and other stuff
